I have heard many horror stories from "a relative" never to bring your diamond rings in because many jewelry stores will steal your diamond and replace it with something cheaper. I resisted upgrading my ring for a long time. When I brought my ring in, they made sure they tested the diamond and weighted the ring. After the ring was finished, they tested the diamond in front of me again and made sure the weight was the same. To me, that does not seem like a business trying to rip people off. Although this is my first experience with them, this business and its owners have been around in Vancouver for over 20 years. I don't think they can stay in business this long if indeed they are ripping people off.

However, the people who work at this shop are so outstandingly kind and helpful that it's worth mentioning. I came here to get a very fine gold chain repaired and to get my watch battery replaced. I ended up needing to get the movement in my watch cleaned after there were still issues with the second hand getting stuck after the battery replacement. The woman working the counter was very clear in advising me and gave me a sense of options and cost before ever compelling me to commit to the work I would get done. We discussed the replacement of the crystal on the watch face and she recommended that I see how the other repairs went first, to ensure that the watch could be made to function properly first. It's simple stuff, but I really felt that I was being given respectful advice. I also watched the same woman interact with an elderly lady who came in looking for a particular address, which turned out to be in the building, but required her to go on a bit of an adventure to find it. The woman working here went out of her way to help this elderly woman find her way - it was very sweet.
