They make dancing fun for any level. My first interaction with them was a free tango class at a PR event. Their dance and teaching chemistry left me in awe. I knew I wanted to take classes with them at some point. Fast forward to end of 2025. My fiancé (who "does not dance") fell in love with tango after a free trial. I adore dancing so was super excited he was interested. We ended up signing up for their Super Beginner Easy Start Course Tango class that took it as a slow pace for non-dancers. This was the perfect intro. We then decided to sign up for their monthly tango membership where we take their Level 100 classes. At this time, they have Level 100 classes on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7pm. After class they do a really cool technique class called Tango Power Start. This place is more than a dance studio, it's a community. They offer milongas too (an Argentine social dance event). My fiancé and I are the type of people who like being able to walk or bus to a place, we live in the city and this is in Midlothian. We love this studio so much that the drive is worth it for us. I highly recommend taking tango classes here. You'll learn so much and have lots of fun in the process.

A private glass-walled studio in a cool part of town, near the Village of Midlothian. There's also nearly endless parking. Apparently the capacity is 500 so be prepared to be close to others if your show is sold out! Showed up early prior to doors opening to ensure we got a good spot which is a must especially if you'd like to be close to the stage. The staff was really friendly and set up barricades by the door which helped corral the line. I loved that they had a metal detector set up and a security check point. I felt very safe and comfortable the whole time. I will say be prepared to stand for an extended period especially if you show up early. There is little to no seating available and as show time nears it is practically standing room only. So wear comfy shoes! Overall it's a nice venue and I am glad we have it as an option here in Richmond!

When it is set up as standing room, as it is for most events, it is too crowded and "atmospheric" on the floor when everyone has been availing themselves of the bar's wares. When I was younger I would not have minded as much, but now standing for an hour or three is not my thing. BUT when they set the hall up with seating, as they did for Patton Oswalt's show last night, you have to deal with very cheap plastic folding chairs that put pressure in the wrong places and strain to hold folks of any above average size. I know, it's hard to please some people. Accoustically the hall is good. Bathrooms are cleanish. Ticketing was easy. Parking is a challenge.

Yep, I'm a fan of this concert series and look forward to it every year! I saw Iron & Wine this evening at Groovin' in the Garden and it was just as delightful as I remembered. Despite the rain creating a minor delay, the show seemed to go off without a hitch. My one complaint is that they don't allow you to bring in outside food, so you're stuck with ordering from their concession options. Luckily, they have quite the variety, with healthier options that you don't often find at concerts. I didn't purchase anything this evening - and I'm glad I wasn't too hungry, because the food line was insanely long for a good part of the show. The beer line, on the other hand, moved super quick! I appreciate that they offer both beer and wine choices, so there's something to please every palate. Groovin' in the Garden is held in such a relaxing venue, and I always dig the vibe of the crowd at their shows. The staff is super organized and helpful and the lines to enter the venue move quickly (although, I suggest printing your tickets at home, because will call definitely takes a little longer). Bring your lawn chairs or blankets, cash for bites and beverages, and be ready for a great night.

Food, beer and wine are for sale. Acts for the 2010 season include Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, Keller Williams, Patty Griffin, Josh Ritter and Mason Jennings, Zappa Plays Zappa and Arlo Guthrie. I guess maybe it's all the greenery, but there's something about listing to music here that feels very relaxing. If you like disco dancy vibes, I highly recommend attending Love Club. They have free water that is easy access on the bar. It's pretty easy to order a drink. Although the bathroom line can get long, it goes by pretty quickly as there are three single gender neutral bathrooms. I usually take the pulse when coming here. Parking can be a bit difficult to find. If you buy tickets online, they'll be cheaper than at the door (like most places). You'll go through one line to check your bag, another to check your ID, then the final to check your ticket. There is an outdoor space before LOSO that also plays music that may be more a part of Sabai. If you're looking for a fun night out, LOSO is a good pick.
