It was kinda hard to find at first , but that's expected of a speakeasy . This place was definitely my vibe. I love a dark moody aesthetically pleasing speakeasy. The service was great and our food and drinks were great. The bartender could have done better at knowing the menu to offer suggestions. Me and my friend shared their charcuterie tray and shrimp cocktail on their happy hour menu. I got a velveteen cocktail and she got an expresso martini. Finally made it to Goldwing and loved it! Visited with friends on a Friday night and ended up waiting across the street about 10 minutes. Really cool kind of a jazzy speakeasy! We arrived for a drink and the place was full. We ended up standing by the bar which was fine. Cocktails were solid, lighting is romantic, and the hightop tables make for a great date night experience. Came here on a Friday evening with a girlfriend and we had a blast. We came just in time for their 5-6pm daily happy hour. It got pretty packed. There is a lot of seating options here. You can sit at the bar, high tops around the bar, or couches in the back. It's very lounge-like and has a speakeasy feel to it. The jazz music that evening felt a bit old timey in a cool way. I ordered the Even the Cowgirls Get the Blues cocktail and it felt like if a cherry coke was a cocktail (in a good way). My friend ordered the Rumble Honey then the International. She adored her drinks. She loves any foamy drink or milkshake-like beverage and these both fit that. When visiting, you'll look for an unmarked door with gold handles. There is no logo out front to make it fit the speakeasy feel even more. In the back are two gender neutral single stall restrooms for guests. Goldwing is a hidden gem in Richmond perfect for date night. Started our night here and it has a cozy vibe with great cocktails, and friendly staff. This particular night they had live jazz which was really cool but it can get pretty busy in there so keep in mind if you want a bar seat. Cute spot tucked away in Scott's Addition. I enjoyed the ambiance as it is tucked away and dark inside. However, getting a seat at this place is tricky. We arrived and there was no line at the door and a few open seats at the bar. We were told we had to wait to sit at the bar but after waiting for 10-15 mins we were allowed to sit at the open seats we originally spotted at the bar. The drinks were good and I am happy to see another cocktail bar in this area but I am probably going to give it a few months before I return so that they can work out the seating kinks. read more

Goldwing is the perfect date night spot in Richmond! It is hidden on the boulevard next door to Fighting Fish. We popped in on a Sunday for drinks and to my surprise one of my favorite bartenders in Richmond was there running the bar. My drink was amazing! I had a spicy tequila drink. The staff was nice though the service was pretty slow despite how many people were behind the bar. Pricing is higher. All cocktails are $16. My friend and I thought they were just OK. We didn't opt for a second drink as with tax and tip we spent $42 and change. Also just an fyi, it is DARK in there. A group of us went to Goldwing and were treated like scum. I had been there before and felt that this was a really cool place. In fact, I liked the place so much that I invited additional coworkers to come with to get their opinions. We were drinking cocktails and wine and were having a good time when a waitress came by and said we had to leave. We were dumbfounded. The waitress accused us of saying inappropriate slurs the last time we had been there. I confronted the manager who wouldn't say anything. We felt very uncomfortable and decided to leave. They were so rude that they were even going to make us pay when they were kicking us out. I will tell you that if you go there be very careful of what you say because someone on the staff may think you were saying something inappropriate and kick you out. Given that, it is a cool place with good cocktails and a good selection of wine. The music is good too Just be aware that the staff will be listening to you and judging you based on what they think you are saying. read more
