After having some teeth extracted at another dentist, I had to go see Dr. Ripperger, who was so nice so professional and he removed the two bone splinters that I had from the other dentist. This business needs an improvement audit of their entire office. Our family has had several -bordering on "lots" - of issues of scheduling, communication, and purpose problems. "Ohh, the desk person didn't know ...", "Oops, the manager (who was no longer there) didn't communicate the financial agreement to the desk people or the doctors." , " The schedule forgot to schedule this with the correct doctor." There is a whole blame game going on. When the front desk keeps a pile of gas cards to "make up for your travel expenses and time spent (wasted)", there is a pattern of a big problem. I do not recommend Aoms (Dr. Graves) - they are really good at extracting your money but the work is shoty at best, I opted to get an implant on the top only, they screwed up my bite impressions right from the start which caused my temporary to break and the same thing happened on my permanent teeth, two teeth broke right in the front naturally, I have been trying to get them fixed every since then. Today I talked to them and now they are not planning on fixing them because it's been five years, they were putting me off so they could use this excuse!! I paid a lot of money for this sorry service!! I suppose this is the reason they wanted all the money upfront so you have no recourse at all!! After attending this establishment, I was unprofessionally blocked by this "professional". She made a huge mistake misleading me on the afterwards procedure. Please check out conversation and do you own judgment before you decide on trust your own face with Chanel. This is shameful. After telling me she found out the correct information trough a Facebook group, she blocked me. Totally unprepared! To do a very expensive procedure with someone only to find out they left out post procedure processes and found out why they should've done via a Facebook group, this is very upsetting. While visiting Amarillo, my wife's wisdom teeth were really bothering her. We visited Dr. Graves at AOMS and to be quite honest she was really afraid of having her wisdom teeth taken out. The doctor was incredibly patient and comforting to her. The facility was gorgeous very modern and state-of-the-art. He put her at ease and explained exactly how the procedure would work. They put her under using anesthetic and he had her wisdom teeth out in no time at all. It was pretty amazing because she was able to join us for dinner that night with my family and there were no problems at all! It was really an excellent experience from start to finish and we both cannot recommend them highly enough. read more

Wish'd his practice had more respect for service connected disabled veterans. My family has ChampVA -- that is the insurance provided unemployable veterans. I was told to show up the day before the surgery with $16,000.00 and he'd do my daughter's jaw surgery. Hard to have 16K cash on VA disability. Still I hear he is a very good doc & surgeon -- doesn't matter if you can't see him. read more

AOMS has been my oral surgery center of choice for several years now! In 2012 I had my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Graves and they did a wonderful job. I get very nervous when I have any dental-type procedure, but Dr. Graves and his staff were very reassuring and supportive. Later on I had a complicated procedure done to have a dental implant placed - I ended up in and out of the office probably a dozen times to finish the procedure and my appointments were almost always fast and painless. The only exception was one appointment when Dr. Graves was called out for an emergency surgery (absolutely no one's fault), I ended up waiting in the office for quite a long while before I asked to reschedule so I could go on about my business... But I was able to reschedule for a couple days later, no problem! I would definitely recommend Dr. Graves and AOMS to anyone, especially if you're someone who dreads oral procedures, because AOMS offers anesthesia, no fear, no pain, and no memory! read more

I went there Friday because I had made an appointment to have 2 wisdom teeth extracted,, had to do an X-ray even tho I had already done X-rays, then to find out my appointment was only to have X-rays done and be told I need to have my wisdom teeth taken out. Then I tried to make another appointment after asking the doctor if payments were available to which he said yes, only to go to the front to make an appointment and be told it was cash upfront only no payments and that I had to pay 100 out of pocket for the X-ray. My son was pitching in a high school baseball game when a line drive was hit right back at him. The ball hit him in the face and broke several bones. I wasn't sure who we needed to see for medical care and then we found AOMS. The Doctors and staff couldn't have been more professional, knowledgeable or caring. My son tripped and hit the floor hard enough to chip his front tooth on New Years while playing. I brought him to AOMS to see what could be done. The dentist gave him some medicine and put some stuff on the edge of it to protect it a bit. She also braced it with a wire. I was told to bring him back in two weeks for them to take x-rays and put a filling on to make a fake tooth in the meantime until he's old enough to get a replacement tooth. He's only 8 and he's still growing. This was all going to cost me about $900 as we are self-pay while he was getting added to our insurance. I got him added that day but I was already on the hook for the $900 with the finance company they use. I was told I'd get reimbursed for the difference the insurance would cover. A week into the wait period, his wire brace came off. I called in and asked what to do about it. I was told that the dentist wasn't in for the next two days but they would have her call me. I never got a call back before our next appointment. When we came back for the appointment, the woman who saw him said she wasn't qualified to do any of the stuff he needed except the x-rays and that he was mistakenly scheduled with her instead of the dentist. There wasn't anyone available to see him. They apologized for the confusion but it was really unprofessional and disorganized in my opinion. I was told they would check the x-rays and call me back to set a new appointment. I had to follow up as no one called me back. I was told that he needed to see a specialist as his tooth was infected now so they couldn't do the next step that they had planned on. They gave me a referral and I called to make an appointment. From what they thought was needed, they said it would cost about $1200 and that I'd have to pay up front and get reimbursed by my insurance. I don't have that kind of money readily available so I searched around for another place that was in network instead. When I went back to AOMS, the gal I spoke to was pretty rude about how I went somewhere "that they normally don't refer people to". I explained that I can't afford $2000 out of pocket for all of this so I went to a place that my insurance would cover. The Specialist we saw wanted to monitor the infection after taking antibiotics for a bit and gave us some suggestions for how to handle his tooth. He said that the route AOMS wanted to go wasn't going to work now due to what the tooth was doing. I went back to AOMS and said we decided to go elsewhere since the original plan we had wasn't going to work. The woman I was working with said she'd take off the difference in cost for the work they were not going to perform that I was already changed for and would tell the finance company of the new total. My son later complained about his teeth feeling funny and bothering him. I look and he still had glue on his teeth from the wire. They didn't bother to clean it off. So I called and made an appointment to go in and get that handled. They got most of it off and said the rest would come off on its own. It's been months and he still has some glue but that's neither here nor there now. At this point, I was sick of their shoddy service and I complained and said I wanted some sort of compensation for this nightmare. The office manager was apologetic and said she's take off a certain percentage. I was happy with that as I am going to have to pay over a $1000 elsewhere in co-pays to finish this procedure and every penny counts. It took weeks to get the finances sorted out with AOMS. In the meantime the finance company was calling me to finalize my contract and started auto drafting my payment but they still had the $900 amount because she never called back to take off the price for the second visit that we never did and she never took off the discount I was promised. After weeks of calling and following up, it finally got sorted out and I paid it off to get it off my plate. I'm still so annoyed with AOMS and I wish I had never gone there. I spent hundreds of dollars for them to put a few drops of medicine on the tooth and put a little bit of a coating on it and a wire that promptly fell off. I shouldn't have had to pay anything honestly for this bad service. I will never got back and I encourage people to look elsewhere before going to them. read more

Recommended by a healthcare professional and without a prior appointment, although a referral, was happy to be "worked in" for an emergency appointment. Arrived to find a beautiful buliding but the smile dimmed when the receptionist was unable to make eye contact, greet the new potential patient and could not spell the name, or even look it up. There was no one else waiting at reception and she was not busy, simply uninterested. Finally, after four repetitions and slow phonetic spelling, she handed a clipboard and forms which were completed and promptly returned. Settling in to wait (and hoping her disinterest and incompetence was not a reflection of all staff!) the waiting area and lobby were free for people watching. Lots of people milling around, chatting, TV watching and yelling at the wild kids. Kids. Tiny ones running around, running into people, banging into chairs, falling on people and touching everything and belongings. No possible teeth there! Tiny toddlers. We love kids, have grands, but this was the wild west of toddlers run amuck. Why the worry? An impaired immune system due to heavy chemo demands care around small children, per Doctors' orders. The lobby was dirty, scattered used paper products, and did not instill confidence. This was not a great environment for a potential patient. We left. Pain we can manage. Disinterest and dirt, not. We have been to this dentistry clinic many times to have work done on all three of my kids as far as the work they performed they did excellent work however the past trip we did back in September for my four-year-old they put my son on a pre sedative all the work performed went great but when my son came out he was crying and very irritated I asked him what happened and he said the doctor hit him on the head because he wasn't being good my son does not fabricate stories like this I called the office and spoke with Doctor Lindsey she assured me that this did not happen and that it was probably the drugs that made him imagine it however we took my three year old in today for some work they gave him the pre sedatives and my wife requested to stay in the back with him due to the story my other son had told. the dentist became very agitated and said if we didn't trust her to be alone with are kid that she could not do the work my wife said my son would be more comfortable and we would be more comfortable to be back there mind you this is just a cap being put on her and my wife got into it and she said she would refer my son to a different dentist and sent my son home on the sedatives without doing the work all because they would not allow my wife to be in the room with my three year old this seems odd that a parent is not allowed to accompany a minor in the room for a minor procedure and when I requested to speak with the nurses after my 4 year olds incident they would not let me speak to the other nurses in the room something is not right. read more

Dr. Graves removed my wisdom teeth about 6 yrs ago, which probably should've been removed years earlier. I was not looking forward to it but he and his staff made me feel comfortable and I knew immediately I was in good hands. We now go to Dr. Lindsey for my children's regular pediatric dental checkups (love, love, love her and her staff, too) and since they are now in the same building as Dr. Graves, we have somewhat reconnected with Dr. Graves and his staff, specifically Kelly C.--she is awesome. She recently helped ease my worries about my daughter's (what I consider "funky") dental x-rays by providing words of comfort and support. We anticipate working with Dr. Graves down the road for quite a while to fix those funky x-rays and are so glad our daughter enjoys going to the dentist. She counts down the days until her next visit with Dr. Lindsey, so I hope future oral surgeries will be no big deal since I think they may take place where we are already used to going. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, staff are very personable and patient. The game room is a hit with my little ones. These guys were all an awesome, awesome find! read more
