They were expecting me when I arrived for my 8:00 appointment and had me in the back within 5 minutes. There is a whole blame game going on. When the front desk keeps a pile of gas cards to "make up for your travel expenses and time spent (wasted)", there is a pattern of a big problem. Office is very clean and nice The dental assistant/nurse during my surgery was great as well. She was kind and made sure everything went smoothly. I survived surgery ! Great instructions given post surgery to help healing and recovery. Cons: The front office staff. They honestly just aren't really friendly. I originally scheduled with Dr. Atkins. This was the doctor that my regular dentist originally wanted me to see. I called myself the week prior to the initial appointment to schedule with Dr. Atkins. I didn't find out until the day of my 1st appointment that I wasn't going to see him. I called and asked why I was switched and all they stated was " we can reschedule you if you want ". No other rationale other than I could reschedule to see Dr. Atkins. This unfortunately made me distrust this practice right off the bat. I had already taken off work that day so I decided to go ahead and just go and see the other doctor. He ended up being great but I still feel like the office staff was in the wrong. When you go to check in the office staff are very straight to the point and only interested in your insurance information or obtaining payment. They really don't smile. They seem to lack empathy and lack customer service/kindness. I would send them all to Chick-Fil-A for a week to do some training. lol. I also received a surprise call from the office 6 months post surgery about owing additional money. I guess they had billed my insurance and it took this long for them to realize they needed a little more money from me. I was under the impression that everything was 100% payed for when I left that day after surgery. I understand dealing with insurance can take time and be difficult so I just paid it and moved on with my life. I would recommend this oral and maxillary surgery practice. I do believe the doctors are very good and this is why my dentist sent me to them. The nurses/dental assistants were very good as well. The front desk office staff ( aka, the face of your business ) unfortunately lacked in my opinion but the good news is they aren't the ones doing surgery on you ! :)

He is good at explaining options available and things to factor in when making a decision. He could almost get 5 stars except I heard drills before my appointment. I realize that drills are a necessary feature of dentistry, but the noise totally tenses me up! So maybe a non-scardy-cat will not take off a star for fear. It isn't Dr. Cato's fault afterall.

They would get ZERO STARS if it was up to me. Let me explain, I made an appointment face to face in their office months ago for July 21st at 12:00. Simple enough. Took off work for the appointment. I get a text last Wednesday at 12:22AM to "confirm" my appointment. I don't know about you but I'm not replying to a text I received in the middle of the night or any subsequent message there after. Not to mention that as an adult I shouldn't have to confirm an appointment I already confirmed when I made it. If I don't need it or can't make it I will cancel it. Well, they know better than you or me so they cancelled my appointment for me. They have a $50 fee if you confirm but don't show. They have a 100% of appointment cost if you opt out of their text confirmation system that texts you in the middle of the night and you fail to show. Guess what you get if THEY CANCEL YOUR APPOINTMENT THAT YOU TOOK OFF WORK FOR..... nothing of course. Just inconvenience, loss of pay, rude lifeless commentary and, for me, the task of finding a new dentist because I don't put up with this nonsense. I didn't fail to show up to my appointment or do anything wrong. I just made them the slightest bit uncertain that they maybe might not have a butt in their seat and the $$$$ they so dearly covet because I didn't respond to a 12:22AM TEXT MESSAGE. Mind you, I never received an actual phone call! Can you imagine being so money hungry and so greedy that even the thought of you missing your appointment sends terror and fear of lost $$$$. These people are self serving trash and if you miss one of their hoops too bad. Even if your appointment still isn't for another 23 hours you lose because serving you is not in their wheelhouse. They only serve the money god. I actually reached out to them and spoke with some soulless husk of an office crone just to try and hash it out since it's still almost 24 hours until my actual appointment and the answer was too bad for you and you can reschedule. I had actually heard good things about them and that's why I started going there but it's been the opposite experience. It's one thing after another with these money hungry ghouls. Beware.
