Was in a collision 5/16 with my oldest child. Vehicle was totaled at no fault of my own; Was in some serious pain. I contacted Amaro Law firm really just to see what my options were. Antonio, at first was very personable and helpful. He answered any questions I had day or night. He was always available! Do these people sleep? I didn't know which way to turn so I ended up going a different route (I, foolishly, thought the other party's insurance company was going to do the right thing). When I told Antonio, he was very understanding and told me that even if I wasn't going to use him, that he'd be available to me and I could call him anytime, day or night, if I had questions or concerns. I called Antonio back a couple of weeks later wanting to proceed with my case. I DO understand that these cases expire if you wait too long. Antonio sent an email saying he could no longer help me. That was it. Nothing. No explanation. I called again to get more clarification on the email but no response. Nothing. His assistant kept taking down my information saying he'd call back but he never did. What happened to "I could call anytime and get my questions answered"? I had an accident on 4/8/18. I contacted the amaro law firm on 4/13/18 and signed paperwork for them to represent me and my wife. Flash forward today is 7/6/2020 and our personal injury case is (still open) yes still open. I was told a week ago that my case was forgotten about. It's going on 2.5 years!!!! yes 2.5 years!!!! this case has been open so long, that I forgot that we even had it. I would not recommend amaro law firm. James Amarro should never had taken my case. He was more concerned with 18 wheeler accidents than case apparently did not profit his firm enough. First Red Flag is when I would call from time to time to see status of case - was told for several years - James not available. James is busy working on another 18 wheeler case. By the time we went to trial he was not prepared. If you have been in Auto Accident and not severely injured would look elsewhere. I would NOT recommend Amaro Law Firm. My case handled last minute, tossed aside and entire time handled carelessly. He is supposed to be professional. He is Attorney not hamburger flipper. James put my case behind '18 wheeler accidents keep him busy',.For 3 years I would call and try to discuss case.He had no time to get on the phone to discuss update, etc. 'Quote' James is just really busy handling 18 wheeler cases. I will have him call. Never called. My case did not involve 18 wheeler. James crammed 3 years of case into contacting me Friday afternoon asking me to come in and discuss case. We would have to be in Court Monday morning. This also required us to travel out of town. The case was not in Houston. I asked if he can reschedule since this was Friday and felt he was not prepared to be in court Monday. He said Judge would not let us. That does not make sense. He had more than enough time to prepare. 3 years of time. He was not prepared.He told me 3 days before going to court can't find witness. I don't believe he was even familiar with my case. His firm had another attorney with James. The other Attorney got questions mixed up, They contacted witness when first took case. 3 years later she moved. From the start should have trusted my gut and found another attorney that for one could handle my case. I should have reported him to Texas Board. read more
