I had high hopes for Amato based off of other reviews. I needed some food catered for my wife's 50th birthday held at a local winery tasting room. I liked that Danilo offered a suggested menu that I could add and subtract from. We had an evening event and the food arrived on-time. However, there was no warming trays. Nothing to keep the hot dishes warm, let alone hot. By the time the guests arrived, mingled and we started to eat - everything was cold. We did an assortment of heavy appetizers and there was no labels or menu provided so my guests would have had no idea what they were eating, whether the dish contained meat or not. So I had to scramble and send the menu to the venue, have them print and then cut apart and tape in front of each dish. Part of what I paid for was setup and tear down...only there was no tear down as everything was served in disposable trays. Overall, I was disappointed in the service at this price point. read more

Amazing food and Danilo was a pleasure to work with! We were planning my husband's 40th birthday party at Sol Stone Winery (also recommend!) and they said we should we check out Amato catering as an option. We got lunch from The Picnic Table, Danilo's restaurant, to check out the food and we were sold. Danilo worked with us to customize a buffet style menu of heavy appetizers (mingling food) for 30 people. The meatball sliders and chicken satay were so flavorful, and the cold tortellini pasta salad, mushroom tartlets and mixed veg salad were excellent accompaniments. Chef Dani, who owns Amato Catering, is awesome. He did an event at the wine shop with Brian Carter Cellars, and from what all the guests said, this was PERFECT. His food is all beautiful, well prepared, and he knows his stuff. He was trained in Italy and France and loves to share his passion for food with everyone. *as a side note, Dani owns a Villa in Tuscany and hosts cooking/wine trips there. Danillo and his staff catered a rehearsal dinner for us at nearby Metier Brewery in Woodinville. I cannot speak highly enough of our experience. From working with Danillo on menu planning to the beautiful presentation at the event, everything was first class. Our guests were tremendously impressed with the chef quality food. He easily designed a delicious menu for us that was gluten and dairy free, to accommodate several of our guests. Wow, is all I can say. Well not really all :) Danilo is the chef that you can trust implicitly. I contacted over 10 caterers on yelp (all w/ fantastic reviews) and a few others that were recommended by friends. We were throwing a double 60 year old birthday / 40 year anniversary party for my in-laws (that I absolutely love, so the party had to be fantastic). We skimped on the venue, the rentals, the linens, the centerpieces but splurged on the food and the dj. When I say splurged, keep in mind we are very "thrifty". Amato came up with a fantastic dinner / appetizer menu for a crowd of 90 people (20 kids) and 4 generations. I also prefer fresh non processed food wherever possible and he met my criteria and then some. Here's what he came up with based on my suggestions: Appetizers * Fresh baked focaccia served with prosciutto, arugula and shaved pecorino * Antipasto skewers , selection of cured meats, cheeses and pickled served on a wheat grass tray * Caprese salad crostini Dinner Buffet Style * Mix Greens salad with toasted hazelnut, gorgonzola crumble and pears vinaigrette * Chicken Valdostana, Stuffed organic chicken breasts with sage, fontina cheese and thin sliced ham and * Poached wild salmon, served with Italian Salsa verde Sides * Herbed roasted root vegetables medley * Steamed green beans with cherry tomatoes, terragon and shallots vinaigrette Artisanal Bread rolls EVERYONE kept asking who the caterer was! The swim club venue had the smallest dated kitchen I've seen, but I'm not sure if it was the quality of the fresh ingredients or the caliber of his cooking skills but the salmon and the chicken were absolutely perfect. Like "Barking Frog" perfect (if you're from the seattle area I assume you've heard of them). Even the kids had seconds. Even the fam that will only eat "white food". All of the food was in great condition by the time my husband and I made it through the buffet line (and we were some of the last people). I don't often give reviews unless places are fantastic or horrible, but Amato catering really went over the top. Easy to work with. Made no assumptions, but didn't bug us at all. Concise communication with just the right listening skills and understanding. I will be calling Amato again for any of our catering needs and recommending them to anyone that will listen. We are interested in his cooking travels as well, if it might teach us to cook even close to how Danilo does!!!! read more

Dani and his crew have done the lunch catering at a company I work for and with as many people and campuses as we have, that is quite a remarkable task in itself. To do this well, is a challenge and Amato never fails. Needless to say, I am one of the first in line everyday! The food is amazing, always bringing folks from their cubicles by the delicious aroma that circulates throughout the office. Often pairing his menu to the season (bbq in summer!) all the meals are a delight! I had the pleasure of working with Amato team in my capacity of marketing director for DeVry University, for the Grand Opening of our new location in Lynnwood. It was a high-visibility local event with VIP guests, such as mayor of Lynnwood, Chamber of Commerce and local business representatives. As you can tell, we needed a flawless event. Boy, am I glad Amato team was there! Their food quality was amazing (chilled prawns with light mayonnaise sauce, variety of Mediterranean finger food, mini desserts - all set up by theme in four different reception rooms, as suggested by wonderful Danilo Amato). I have to say, our guests seemed to pay more attention to the food than to speakers (and, let's face it - for official events, 80% of success is in what you serve). But beyond that - Amato team worked with our team, taking care of everyone, making sure there are no dry throats for those needing to speak to guests; providing opportunity for our busy staff to grab a bite as well throughout the event, making seamless refills - and plenty, plenty of amazing food items to go around. I am so very impressed by this caterer's ability to work together, their professionalism and - ah, of course - those delicious tiny plates. Best catering for our wedding! We were looking for the catering services for our wedding and after my wife tried the menu from the 'best' caterings in town, she was not happy with the quality nor with the price.
