I called asking about trading in sealed product and singles for a high end card. They tell me that they can do that. I drive 30+ minutes after work only for them to tell me that they only offer 50% on sealed product. Not only is that a major rip off but they didn't mention that over the phone. read more

It seems some others have called in ahead of time and not given all the details. I have never been to this store or any of their other locations, I am unaware of their policies. I called before hand to ask them about their trade in. Told me it depended on the card and if I wanted cash or store credit then told me some percentages. So, I thought cool they have a card I want I will go check it out, I drove over there, about a 15 minute drive, and waited about 10 minutes to talk to someone as they were chatting it up with the customer before me which is whatever but just wasted more of my time because as it turns out they don't do any trades within an hour of closing time. I was there around half an hour before close. On paper, this is no issue but why wasn't I told this over the phone? I don't understand that thought process, why wouldn't you clarify or give essential information like that before wasting someone's time? I've been to almost every other shop in the area and I have never ran into this and if stores have this policy they make it explicitly clear when you talk to them. Overall super annoying. The only Amazing Discovery that we found here was a horrific smell. It was nauseating. We walked in the door, took a quick walk pass the cases and then had to exit. I know gamers some times take hits for hygiene issues, but this was absurd. Please invest in ventilation. read more

I have been coming here every couple weeks for the past few months buying boxes, ETB's and singles with my wife since getting back into Pokemon. This past Sunday I arrived 9 minutes after opening to sign up for their Mega pre release event. I was told that all spots were reserved for regular players and I would be on a waiting list. There were roughly 12 people in the waiting list I was 9th. They said cut off for registration was noon and at that time there were 17 people who hadn't confirmed their spots (Weren't there) to which I was told originally we would get spots. The guy hosting the event allowed late people up until 12:17 to join. All but 3 on wait list were turned away. No sorry no nothing just you didn't get in. I didn't get mad or angry and even told this mother and child that were waiting also if I get the spot and your son doesn't I'll give him my spot. That being said because of this I will no longer support this store. Blocking new players from being able to play is bad practice. The store I was dropping 500+ a visit will no longer get my business because of who you employ and how your customers are treated. read more

I've been going to this card shop for less than a year, and it's quickly become my favorite spot! The staff are super friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is great with a strong sense of community. Many of the customers are regulars who come in daily or weekly, which makes it easy to connect with others who share similar interests. I've met some awesome people here and always look forward to my visits. I've checked out other card shops around the valley, but this one is by far the best! read more

This card shop a couple years back was absolutely incredible, with good prices, a good selection, and good staff. Now, it is insanely overpriced on literally EVERYTHING. You might as well drive around looking for stock at Walgreens and Fry's because they rip you off now. Sad to see a card shop like this ripping people off. They have a good selection of Magic and (sometimes) Pokemon. Their prices are a definitely above market value so be aware of that. The thing that really makes my girlfriend and I not ever want to shop here again is their service and their obvious bias and lack of caring about anything that isn't a moneymaker for them. Also the crowd that is somehow attracted to that store is just terrible. I went in for an event and no less than 3 times someone asked me if I'd sell my products to them. When I was opening my packs I had people coming up to me asking if I'd sell my promo cards to them. It was blatant and I never experienced that at any other store. Really left a bad taste about the sort of people that go there. The real issue is the service and, as I said earlier, their obvious bias. My girlfriend and I went there twice looking for either One Piece or Flesh and Blood. For Flesh and Blood the person we asked about it made themselves very clear in saying "We will never carry Flesh and Blood." Ok, I didn't ask if you would carry it, you probably could have been a bit nicer about not carrying that game. The next time we went in was asking about One Piece. The person behind the counter seemed annoyed to be taken away from his pizza and smelly garlic bread sitting in front of him and turned around to point at the single One Piece booster box they had (which was heavily marked above market price). Some other guy came over and started saying that One Piece is fine "he guesses" but it's not as fun as Lorcana. We mentioned that we didn't want know anything about Lorcana and weren't interested in it because we don't care about the Disney TCG, but he kept pushing that. We even tried to mention that Gundam TCG coming out soon, but he shrugged that one off, too. I think this store just has something against Bandai TCGs. Just terrible experiences, either by their staff not being helpful at all, or by their customers that seem like standard scalper scumbags. There are plenty of great stores in the PHX area. You'd be much better off finding one of them and not coming here. read more

I ventured out from my usual game stores in the Tempe/Mesa/Gilbert area to visit Amazing Discoveries in Glendale yesterday in search of some MTG cards. I've been to the Gilbert location (which I had an awesome experience at) but they just did not have some of the cards I was looking for. Before going I visited their website since you can search for cards and see exactly what they have in stock at all of their locations, super duper convenient and easy to use! They had all of the cards I've been wanting for a while but couldn't find elsewhere. When I arrived at the store, the staff were all extremely friendly and helped me get the cards I was looking for. Although it's a long drive for me, I'd definitely come back here again. Thank you to everyone at Amazing Discoveries for such an awesome experience! read more

This is hands one of the best game stores in Phoenix. Fantastic collection of singles for purchase, with a great computer system to look for what you want. The store is always clean, cool, and inviting. They have cold drinks as well, in plus when I'm playing for hours and get dehydrated form the epic MTG matches. The staff, on the other hand, are some how better. They are very knowledgeable and friendly. When I walk in I am greeted by no less than 3 people. They are always answering questions and are happy to help in any way they can. This store is really a great place to be any day of the week, but may I recommend the Friday night game. Thr place is packed and it's just so Amazing. I'm glad I made this Discovery. read more
