Online it said they were open at 10 am. I checked out of the hotel and headed to the restaurant. There were already a lot of people waiting for them to open. To my surprise they opened at 10:30. When the doors opened people were "fighting" to get inside. This is a buffet setting. You pay before eating. To go plates are available for purchase. There is an upstairs eating area. I think there were 3 hot stations, a cold station, and a desert station and an ice cream machine. All the food looked so good. I had to get a little taste of everything. The fried chicken and fried chicken livers were Hands down my favorite things. I like greens that are tangy with a little spicy - these were not that. The cornbread was hard couldn't eat it. Everything else was ok. Nothing that I had that "gotta go back for more" feeling (except the chicken). There were so many offerings, and they have Pepsi products. The batches quality is varying because each time an item is never cooked the same. The service wait time is epic causing the customer line of many different races to start at the door. The pricing of a dinner plate consisting of a meat option, two choices of various sides, a bread selection, bottomless lemonade or tea for dine-in patrons, and a dessert was on the spendy side to me, however, I think that's the norm now in this present economy. We were told there were only a few items left as they had sold out of other stuff. We got the smoothered pork chop, two scoops of rice with the pork chop gravy on top, and a scoop of cooked cabbage. The meal also included a roll similar to a kings Hawaiian, a slice of cornbread, a slice of cinnamon cake, and a choice of drink which was koolaide or bottle water (since I am diabetic We went with water), also a side of hot sauce and small container of cranberry sauce.The man and I shared the plate and it was enough for the two of us or easily one really hungry person. The pork chop was so tender we didn't need a knife and the gravy was so flavorful. The rice was lightly seasoned and I appreciated the gravy on it (next time I will ask for extra gravy). The cornbread was sweet and the roll was soft. I loved the cabbage it was soft and had a sweet flavor to it. Overall I can't wait to go back and try more things on Sundays. The meal was about $14 and some change and that included a 3% credit card charge which was fine.

The chicken and waffle was just what I needed. Get the wings if you order this dish. I took the recommendation from the cashier and I am glad that I did. Waffle wasn't sugary. The wings were proper crispy and seasoned just right, not heavy-handed on the salt and not underwhelming either. There is plenty of seating inside and outside. Food is cooked to order, so nothing came to the table as if it had been quickly reheated or microwaved. Next time I come home to visit, this will be my destination for breakfast one of the days I'm home. And seeing that they also have lunch and dinner options, I may stop in later in the day for that.
