Through word of mouth I heard of Cindy's Maid Service and decided to give them a chance. My experience with them was amazing! I let them know in advance that the house was unoccupied for a while, is very dusty, and asked them to use strong products. I made an appointment with them on Labor Day (Monday) and the crew arrived on time and ready to work. Cynthia and her colleagues are so friendly and understanding. After every room they cleaned they'd ask me to come down and check; other maid services I've used in the past NEVER did that. If I was unsatisifed or if there was something that needed to be added to the list, for example, wiping the closet shelves down or the windowsill or the inside of my cabinet drawers they did it without question. In addition they were very fast too. They arrived at 10 in the morning and were out the door by 12:30, not bad for a multi-level 3 bedroom house. Before you know it my house was beginning to look and smell like a house. It's always great to work with nice, understanding and committed people. It's even better when their work exceeds your expectations. I will definitely use them again and will recommend my friends and family to also.

I was told there wasn't additional charge. When the crew arrived I was told there would be a $30 up charge for move in/move out service. I was in s hurry for an appointment so I begrudgingly accepted this change in terms. The only reason I didn't demand a refund is because my new landlord told me to deduct the cost of the cleaning from the first months rent. The floors were vacuumed and mopped and the kitchen and bathroom counters were cleaned. A very superficial cleaning. The inside of the fridge and microwave were not touched and were filthy. The inside of the cabinets were not wiped down as I requested. I have no idea what they did in that amount of time. So after I got home from work at 10 pm after a 60 hour work week, I cleaned the new place till midnight, woke up at six and then moved all day!!! Thanks for nothing. I should have stuck with my usual V maids who do a great job but I'm a sucker for a deal. Fail. FYI I used them the last week in Nov but waited to write the review because I was so annoyed.

One of the ladies asked me if I wanted the fridge wiped down, and when they left, I was sad to see she hadn't touched it. The thing that really stuck in my craw was that they charged me an additional $30 "move out" fee; I can't see how them cleaning an empty apartment made their lives any harder, particularly because they did exactly the 2 hours of work and then ducked out. Short version of this: it's probably worth the extra money to get better service.

I made the mistake of using an informal service that I found online. Although the "other" cleaners worked hard, they were not thorough nor did they have initiative, follow directions well, nor did they communicate well but I went with them because they were cheap. That was a mistake. After a disappointing deep clean by the other company, I asked Molly Maid of Southwest Cook County to come out. Although more expensive, the service is well worth the cost. In October 2020, Daysie and Maria came, on time, and thoroughly deep cleaned my home hitting all of the details without me having to point them out. Everything was clean and spotless after they were done. I did not even know my stove could be that clean. I carefully went around with a critical eye when they were finished, concerned that I would find missed items as I did with the original service I used and there were none to be found. Their supervisor also went through the house, checking door jams, countertops, showers, everything, to ensure that my home was truly clean. She did find an item or two and had them take care of them. I cannot express the joy and peace of mind that they brought me and my partner. Also of note, they are great communicators. Becca, in the office, followed up to check on my experience. She is available by phone and email. They text reminders. (Although being able to text them back would be a nice addition, I will not fault them for lack of it.) If you are considering using them, they are flexible - they can exclude rooms if you are trying to get the price down. They accept check or credit cards (for small fee). They work with your schedule (my partner works overnight and goes to bed at 11AM. They were able to schedule ongoing cleanings earlier in the morning so it would be done by the time he is home and wanting to go to bed.)
