I booked myself in for a much-needed deluxe facial after reading the description on She's So Fine Esthetics' website. This cute little spa, which is tucked away in a building at the corner of Lasalle and Barrydowne, was clean and cozy and offers plenty of unique services. Marie-Daniele, my esthetician, was pleasant and professional throughout the visit, explaining exactly what my service would entail. She certainly has her technique down pat - I had a hard time getting up after 90 minutes of bliss! I would not hesitate to return to She's So Fine Esthetics and I definitely recommend giving them a try if you've not already done so. I have my own nails. I had one broken nail. They told me it was $5.00 for the repair and $15.00 for…read morepolish. I thought that was reasonable. I had old polish on and rather than removing it with polish remover he used a dremel and made my natural nails very thin. I tried to explain that but because of a language barrier he seemed to not understand what I was saying. He fixed the one nail and painted them. He used such thin coats of polish my nails looked almost like they did when I got there. I asked if he could put another coat on to deepen the color and he said no. They then charged me $35.00 plus tax. My nails are not happy and neither am I. He did not clean the cuticles, did not remove the dust that the dremel caused, offered no lotion to moisturize my hands/nails so they didn't look like they were covered in saw dust. The poor lady sitting beside me had been waiting for over an hour and a half. The man working on my nails was rushing and did not do the best job on my nails because of that. Now, as a business owner I understand that some days are very busy and it's impossible to please everyone but it was frustrating to be told they were going to be a few minutes late and having to wait over an hour. My boyfriend was waiting for me outside the shop that whole time and with every 10 extra minutes I was feeling more and more stressed. Not the ideal relaxing experience I was hoping for. I might give them one last chance but if this happens again I will not be going back.
