I can't believe that it took so long for me to finish the review. I noted everything when it happened, but the draft has been sitting here for 2 months. What can I say, I'm a busy woman! I'm busy trying some olives! When I visited my stepdaughter, she told me about the place, so we went together. The place lets you try every type of oil and dressing they carry. So, what am I waiting for? I tried a few and I'm glad I tried because that's how I decided to buy. Unfortunately, my stepdaughter wanted to pay for my selections. She insisted, so I got the salad dressing that I liked, truffle balsamic vinaigrette. We were assisted by Elena. She did a terrific job explaining the products. I loved the store. It's quite a big store with different sections of products made of olive. There's the cooking oil section, salad dressing section and many others. What a place! Stopped in here while spending the day in Port Jefferson and am so glad I did. Amazing Olive features homemade blends of infused olive oils and vinegars that complement whatever dish you're making. Looking for a way to spice up your salads? Elevate fresh fruits? Marinate meat? There's an olive oil or vinegar (or both) for that. Service here is friendly, helpful and approachable as well. The man who helped us (who I think may have been the owner? He gave off those types of vibes) let us sample what felt like every option available until we settled on a white peach vinegar we loved. Just as we were prepared to check out with just one vinegar, he asked if we liked Greek food (which I do) and let us sample a more savory infused "Olympic" herb vinegar that was incredible, I had to have it too. It's come in so handy for the abundance of cucumbers and tomatoes I have from both mine and my mother's summer gardens. I don't live in the area but they also ship which I may have to do once I run out of these vinegars, I'm hooked! read more

The Amazing Olive is a gourmet olive oil and vinegar shop that opened in Port Jefferson, New York in 2012. It was founded by husband and wife Ralph and Kandy Munoz and their son Steve. Ralph and Kandy had discovered an olive oil and balsamic vinegar tasting room in North Carolina and decided to open a similar shop in Long Island. Steve, who was working for FedEx at the time, decided to come on board as a partner as well. The Amazing Olive offers over 80 different varieties of olive oils and vinegars. In addition to oils and vinegars, the shop also sells herbs, salts, dry rubs, jams, hot sauces, olive oil-based soaps, and other similar products. A second location, run by Steve, opened in Patchogue in 2016. My wife and I visited the Amazing Olive's flagship location in October 2018. We were celebrating our first wedding anniversary on Long Island with a private limousine tour of the North Fork Wine Trail. We discovered the Amazing Olive while exploring all of the quaint shops in Port Jefferson. All of the various oils and vinegars are stored in gleaming stainless steel containers with taps called "fustis". Customers are encouraged to sample the oils and vinegars with cubes of fresh Italian bread from a local baker. Some of our favorite olive oils we sampled included the Bacon, White Truffle, Pesto, and Sun Dried Tomato. Some of the balsamic vinegars we enjoyed included the Black Truffle, Pumpkin Spice, Pear Champagne, and Grapefruit. We purchased some small bottles to take home. We have since ordered other bottles online and had them shipped to our house, including their Barrel Aged, Cask 8, and 25 Star Balsamic Vinegars. We will continue to order more delicious oils and vinegars from the Amazing Olive for years to come! read more

My favorite olive oil and vinegar store on LI!! I love the satsuma vinegar! My other faves are cucumber lemon vinegar, 25 star balsamic vinegar and the Persian lime olive oil. They even have flavored soaps here but you can't eat them. Lol I also bought cypress garlic salt. read more

I just stopped in my sons, I've been meaning to come here for a while now. Who doesn't like Olive Oil?? Mmmmm... Wanna do something good for your body? Stop using butter on bread. Instead buy a good Olive Oil, cut up Italian bread and dip away. Little kids love to dip, they think its a game! Not only do they sell Olive Oils, they sell some outrageous balsamic vinegars! I bought a red apple balsamic vinegar to have with tonights dinner. Want to impress your dinner guests? Make them a salad with a crazy olive oil or balsamic dinner purchased from The Amazing Olive. You can't buy these products in a supermarket! They also sell herbs, cheese boards and baskets to give a very unique gift. I'm glad to support this business in my little seaside town :) read more

An adorable little store right off Main Street. We walked in and loved tasting all the different flavors. We ended up making a large order and they sent them all to our home in Texas for when we arrived. The owner was so kind and we loved chatting with them! I've been meaning to come here for a while and finally checked it out. This is a cute little store off Main St. They have the store split in half, with half being olive oils and have being balsamic vinegars. There are jars of bread placed throughout the store with sample cups so that you can help yourself to try any/all of the varieties they have there. I sampled a good amount of both oils and vinegars and ended up with a Habanero Citus olive oil and a Raspberry balsamic vinegar. Deeeeelicious!! The staff was super helpful and you just have to give them a heads up when you want to buy a bottle, and they fill it up for you right there. The bottles are a littleee expensive, but it is a specalty shop and it'd be rude to try everything without buying something. Can't wait for my next visit, and if you bring back the bottle to refill it's $1 off! read more

The Amazing Olive is a block or two up from the harbor, but well worth a visit. They had a number of interesting flavors that change from time to time. I don't normally review stores, but I'm writing this after my second excellent experience here. This place is great and has TONS of flavors of olive oil and vinegar which make for great souvenirs or gifts for friends and family, but what prompted me to write this review was the excellent service I received on both occasions here. I wish I knew the name of the man who works here on Saturdays, but he could not be more pleasant. He was friendly but not overly pushy or in our way as we tried the various flavors. He did not harass us about choosing a flavor or buying something as we were taking our time sampling the combinations. He gave us some great suggestions on pairings and we left with some great oil and vinegar. His A+ service really makes me want to return. read more

I came in here last week with fam and friends and we had a pretty awesome time. We came during a tasting and had the opportunity to try some very rich and tasty oils and vinegars. We ended up buying several oils and vinegars, including on expresso infused oil, and another amazing tuscan balsamic vinegar. We also bought an adorable hand carved honey dipper. The Amazing Olive is a very clean, very cool place to stop by when in Port Jeff. There aren't many places like it and the quality of the products here are top notch along with the service and attention the manager(s) offer visitors. I first came across the Amazing Olive at the farmers market across from the ferry. They had nice selection of oils & balsamic's and samples to try. We picked up a couple of different flavors that day and as it turned out I was so glad we did. My favorite is the raspberry flavored balsamic it's just the perfect balance. The first time I went to their store to refill my bottle I was pleasantly surprised at the selection and different varieties to choose from and they have jars of bread so you can try anything you want. Their oils are top notch I've tried several different ones and the quality is incredible . I love the selection of spices . I have yet to try the soaps but I will. The prices are extremely reasonable . Ralph and Steve are always friendly, helpful and welcoming. I just refilled my raspberry balsamic bottle for the 3rd time and have no doubt I'll be back for more. I discovered this charming store on a recent trip to Port Jefferson. It is a beautifully appointed shop with an incredible selection of infused olive oils, balsamic vinegar and various bath and beauty products. Sampling is encouraged, as there are so many unusual choices (how else could you make a decision?). I tried the truffle infused balsamic vinegar, and it was love at first taste. I am now using it on pretty much everything I make. I adore small businesses that have truly first rate products, not to mention great customer service. The friendly gentleman who assisted us was never pushy, and at the same time was genuinely enthusiastic about the products. I intend to go back as soon as possible. What a great find! read more

I was at the Farmers Market with my family in Port Jefferson a few weeks ago and had a sample at the booth they had set up. Was delicious. I walked over to their store which was right around the corner where I was able to sample a huge selection of balsamic vinegars and olive oils. I bought several and use them often when I prepare dinner. My family loves it! And I was told NOT to get them confused with some other olive store opening up. I came in looking for basil infused oil and found it and the mango pineapple vinegar (or was it something else?)
