This spot has pretty decent food. I ordered my usual favorite egg foo young with a couple of egg rolls and some fried chicken wings. The service was fair and the food was swiftly prepared. The only thing I didn't like about this spot which seems to be a trend at all chinese take out locations now is how selfish they were with the duck sauce. A hand full of soy sauce and only 3 duck sauces irritated me. I went to go into this spot to take my food out but I was swarmed by a bunch of homeless guys asking me for money so I chose the delivery option instead. For those of us from down state that are used to more well rounded and robust flavors in Chinese food this is the best place in the Albany area. Person I spoke with on the phone was very friendly, delivery came slightly early, and every dish I had was perfect. Steamed pork dumpling filling was awesome, best dumping sauce I've tried up here, best wonton soup BY FAR, and above average chicken lo mein. Moving from Jamaica, Queens to Albany was SO hard, because I could not for the life of me find any good Chinese food places here. I tried place after place and I FINALLY found Amazing Wok. Their chicken wings are juicy but fried hard like they do downstate. Good pork fried rice. Amazing pork dumplings, I have to get them every time. Their fried baby shrimp is really good. General tso's shrimp and chicken are also wonderful. Their brown sauce that comes with their chicken and broccoli is thicker than I'm used to but it is still delicious. I also tried the bbq boneless ribs, you can't go wrong ordering those. This is the only place we go to for Chinese food. Every other place in Albany just makes me miss good Queens Chinese food. My partner and I have gotten food from Amazing wok almost every week for the past 6 months and we have have nothing bad to say about this place. Also: they've been taking Covid-19 very seriously! The precautions they take are very visible. You can't dine in, or even enter the store right now but no worries, the food is ready very fast and they sanitize well before and after every customer! You know, some days, you really just need some greasy spoon Chinese. The American Chinese kind. I haven't ventured to one of these places in a long time, but given that I've been away from the city (that is, The City, as in NYC) for a while from its myriad food options, I needed something Asian (even faux-Asian) at 8:30 in the evening. So, naturally, I opted for some quick and easy Amazing Wok just up the street. As someone else said, it really isn't all that bad for Albany. I at least wouldn't expect much better. It's certainly cleaner than some of the other greasy Chinese places I've seen (and haven't eaten at) in Brooklyn. I had the pork fried rice, and while it was skimpy on the pork, it tasted pretty good. It's just another alternative to a slice of pizza anyway, is all. Plus the guy who manages the counter is just so nice. I'm sure I'll be tempted to come back in another month or so. read more

I have ordered from here for more than a year and feel that I have a pretty good handle on their cuisine. They are like most other quick dining Chinese takeout; fast, efficient, and beholden to a wide array of culinary fare. How long for pickup? 10 minutes. On a Friday night at dinner rush. Their prices are reasonable and in line with most other takeout Chinese cuisine with exception of some of the more "upscale" Chinese restaurants like Shining Rainbow. Sometimes though, ordering from them can be a gamble, at least in terms of consistency in food quality. My roommate and I used to order mostly the same thing; General Tso Chicken, vegetable lo mein, and another dish to split. The lo mein was always consistent which was nice, the General Tso not so much. Sometimes it was a delight to bite into the crispy, saucy outer layer that mingled with the tender chicken inside. Other times, the outer layer was over-cooked with a tough chicken center. Their dumplings are pretty standard as is their appetizers in general. One point I really like about them is they are not afraid to be heavy handed with vegetables. Overall, a decent place to get your Chinese takeout fix. read more

The chicken chow mein w/ crunchy noodles was pretty good, and the vegetables they used tasted fresh and the chicken was tender and good quality. Fried rice was not particularly note worthy, but still tasty. Stay away, however, from the won ton soup!!! I think they make their won ton filling w/ very low quality pork scraps, as they were very fatty and had bone shards!! :P Gross. I would order the chicken chow mein again but that's it. Don't bother ordering! Placed an order online using beyond menu to be delivered to Albany Medical Center where I was spending the night with a sick family member. Received a phone call 35 minutes after placing my order that my order was going to take the standard 45 minutes. Sure, no problem, 10 more minutes, nope 45 minutes from the phone call. She had the audacity to check if they started making my order, as if she wasn't going to let me cancel if they started, well they never started with my order, so she canceled it. Ordered S19 with tofu instead of shrimp but they left out the onion green pepper and steamed broccoli and closed refusing to answer the phone after 10:30. I am vegan and they took advantage. I payed $13.95 for tofu with pepper on it, 1/3 of the meal. They will screw you mercilessly. Don't buy from them.
