A little tucked away Amazon experience in Lakewood! Great cocktails and pizza!!! Service was great on a busy Saturday night. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance was dark and cozy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Reservations are recommended but we got lucky to get a table for 4 late at night.

I love this place and am already plotting my return. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Possibly the most beautiful bathroom I have ever been in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's not big so I would recommend a reservation. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love how true they kept the old house.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The between the charm and the mysterious tropical was great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We have 5 contrails between us and all were delicious. Our server was very helpful in choosing. The pizza was the real winner. I know it sounds weird but holy cow! The best crusty chewy flavorful crust fantastic red sauce and the non traditional mushroom one was also outstanding. The meat was good and cooked well but that sauce is no joke! Very spicy.

This is my second time here & it was just as cool as the first! [[HIGHLIGHT]]New drinks, new menu, & live music!!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We even got a complimentary shot when we first sat down! We also got a jalapeno cocktail - & if you do not like spice... STAY AWAY! Because it was good, but definitely spicy hahaha but all in all - it's so fun to come here and I can't wait to be back!

Came here for a bday dinner celebration with friends and coworkers. I made a reservation beforehand and that was easy to do online. I would not recommend going without a reservation because this place was annoyingly PACKED. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was tucked behind Hola Tacos and you will definitely miss it like we did because there is no signage until up close and no other indication unless you already knew where it was...[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's in a small, cramped house and while I liked the room upstairs we were seated in, I would've liked to see more of the place itself without feeling like I was interrupting intimate sessions.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I will say the decor, ambiance and style touches were interesting, pretty and NOT tacky (like Tiki Underground was).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They treated the 4 of us to a free shot to get the night started which was very appreciated! My friend ordered one of only 2 mocktails, Coconut Song, which was very good but small, mostly ice and pretty pricey. Please make more mocktails for those of us who are either weak or allergic! My other friend ordered something that he really liked so that was good. As for food, I thought some were hits and some were misses. The steak skewers were excellent and the juiciest, tenderest but also best seasoned steak pieces! The guava cheese bites were called "skewers" but in actuality, just tiny toothpick bites! What a travesty at what they were priced! Taste was great but more of a dessert! I tried a bite of the chorizo and cheesy potatoes dish and thought the sausage was dry and not as spiced. I didn't try the chicken tinga flatbread everyone else ordered but it looked dry AF and so bland with no sauce. I got the chocolate lava cake and it had beautiful presentation but such middling taste. It was nice that they gave that to me free for my birthday so brownie points scored (literally). My one friend ordered their berry gelato and said it was great. It looked pretty as well. Their Google online menus don't match their website menu so beware! We also ordered their trio of tacos and even asked the server what the spice level is. My one friend is intolerant to spiciness (and fun--JK!) and our server assured us it wasn't a spicy dish. Then I tasted it and thought it was actually medium spicy, so homie lied to us! The tacos were also very flat and not filled to the brim like the ones others got. I also didn't taste any of the slaw it said it had and there were no other veggies. Not a fan. I think I would come back during happy hour (if I could ever make it one of these days) but not sure if I would otherwise. Glad I tried this place though! It had been on my CLE bucketlist this year!

Bought some colleagues here for dinner and drinks while they were in town, This experience was not as great as my first visit. Our waiter Carlo was excellent. He was kind and understanding. This was my first time sitting upstairs and the vibes were great. They have two different rooms upstairs. One is the sun room, which is lit by beautiful natural sunlight from the windows. The other side of the floor was more dark and moody, similar to the downstairs seating area and bar where you enter. The cocktails were excellent. I think there were a few changes since my last visit, but they were all complex and delicious. I got the Blood Moon Rising, which had Cachaca infused with Colombian coffee and cacao nibs. It was giving chocolate coffee vibes. The problem this time was the food. We shared the chips and guacamole, which was good. We also tried the guava, cheese, and fruit skewers. They were very different but I really enjoyed it. The sweetness of the guava and saltiness of the cheese with the hot honey was a cool combo. I got the champignon pizza which had mushroom cream, mozzarella, arugula, and parmesan. It was tasty and I loved that it was wood fired. One of my colleagues got the pistachio pizza. It came out like pizza soup. Too much sauce and then just a ton of pistachios on top. The crust was completely soggy. Luckily, we told Carlo and he was able to get it remade. My other colleague didn't enjoy her birria tacos. They didn't come with any cosume and she mentioned that they were dry. Overall, still a great spot for cocktails and good vibes, but with the limited menu and a few misses, the food was not the highlight this go around.

Amazonia is easily my favorite dining experience in Cleveland. I could write a book about how much I love it, but I'll limit myself to this review. I visited Amazonia twice so far, both top notch experiences. I plan to be back a million more times. My first visit was for a surprise birthday party. We dined in the upstairs moon room with a large group. The manager and the staff really participated in the event like it was like their own friend's birthday. From our initial reservation to the day of the event we felt so supported. We were treated like the most cherished guests at the restaurant. Everyone in our party got pizzas. I got Blood Moon Rising cocktail (with cacao!) and pistachio pizza. Both were excellent! Everyone in our group was raving about pizzas! My second visit was for Mother's Day for sound journey on the patio. I found it very easy to book a table on OpenTable and even change my reservation. We ordered pistachio pizza, ribeye burger sliders, and tacos. All were excellent, tacos so juicy! We also ordered beer, Heads Will Roll, and Emerald Tree Boa. Drinks were delicious and very well crafted. My parents loved the experience! Sound Journey was so beautiful! Service was absolutely amazing - quick, efficient, very warm and friendly. We were checked on many times and got our orders almost immediately. [[HIGHLIGHT]]As far as the vibes, Amazonia really transports you to the Amazon in so many ways. Cocktails are crafted with care, unique ingredients, and stories about the Amazon and Latin Culture.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Sound journeys transport you somewhere warm and tropical.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]And the rooms, the rooms of the restaurant are art! Outdoor you have boho tropics on the patio. Indoor you'll find light sun room with sun projections, and moon room that feels like a jungle after hours. It's such an immersive experience![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I can literally read their menu all day long like a storybook about Latin culture. I just love the concept and execution! One thing to note to any guests is that Amazonia can be hard to find. You can find it in gray-ish house next to Hola Tacos. You will enter through the patio. Plan for extra time to find a good street parking spot. I can't wait for more positive experiences and good memories at Amazonia! I'll be back very soon to try more cocktails and venture out to try some other pizza! I very highly recommend this restaurant for your special occasions or dates.

    Jungle guardian

Met a friend for dinner at Amazonia for dinner a few weeks ago. I had no idea there was something nestled in the back of that lot but there it was! It was mid week so we were seated without a reservation but it seems like a weekend night would have needed one. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The downstairs has a speakeasy vibe with lots of seats at the bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We went upstairs... and it was a completely different vibe. Still nice but not really speakeasy...[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got the jungle guardian cocktail and my friend had a beer. It's a good cocktail but I honestly ordered it because it says there's a chicharrone served with the drink and none was to be seen on the two that I received. Bummer. We had to try the pistachio pizza since it's the specialty. It's a good pizza. Not sure we tasted much pistachio but we did eat the whole thing! It was a fun restaurant to try but definitely stay downstairs for the speakeasy feel. The service was lovely.

Tuesdays is 1/2 price pizza night!

I have been wanting to come here since they opened and I finally was able to stop in. This is such a great spot. The entrance is around back and kind of hidden. It's a converted duplex into a small bar/restaurant. It is all about the aesthetic. I love the decor. The vibe is warm and inviting but also kind of moody. We went at night so was dark as they have small lamps on each table. A friend and I went on a Tuesday night which is 1/2 price pizzas. I had the burrata pizza. It was excellent. The crust was fluffy and chewy (but in a good way). It's topped with prosciutto, burrata, fresh garlic, and balsamic. It was delicious but I do think it was missing basil. To drink I had the "Jungle Guardian" which was a mezcal based beverage. This particular was made for sipping. I was not what I expected but it was very good. I do believe their drink menu changes with the season. I'd like to go back and try other cocktails. We had excellent service. Gary, our waiter, was very helpful - helping us pick out what drink would suit us best and making sure we enjoyed it. I will definitely be returning!

Quaint, homey bar with excellent menu. Tucked away in a converted house Amazonia is inviting with an excellent wait staff and delicious menu in the heart of Lakewood. We walked over to Amazonia after purchasing a wedding dress for a family member. You get a FREE bottle of champagne with purchase! In an addition we ordered a few appetizers and sandwiches. The ceviche and guacamole were so fresh and full of flavor. Ambiance was on point, the homey vibe was inviting and once spring had sprung we will be back to take advantage of the backyard.

La la love the cocktails and Pizza! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance is esthetic with an urban flair, very chill and awesome to being friends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Parking...parking is a challenge; but not if you mind burning a few carport walk. I suggest lock it where you leave it; find it where you left it. A few really good craft draft beers. If you're grabbing a bite, you want a Pizza..any of them are so well prepared in their coal fire.

Today is just one of those 5 days! I had a family member wanting to take me out to celebrate. I had no idea what I wanted to do. I just wanted to stay home than go to to a familiar restaurant. I can do that any day. I remembered a place someone recommended, when I looked it up it was closed on Sunday. So I said you know what, I would be happy with , but it had to be some where special that everyone would enjoy. I found Amazonia when searching. It sounded Amazing! They had signature cocktails on the menu for those who drink, specialty pizzas and small plates. I made a reservation and I was so excited they would have a live band. When we arrived it was a Taco Place!! I had to get out of the car and ask where is Amazonia. She said, it's a Speakeasy, go through this door and it's in the back. I went and got the rest of the guests. We were greeted by Luis, what a warm happy welcome. We sat at our table an I was so intrigued with everything. I ordered Margherita Cheese Pizza with sauce and basil, people in our party ordered small plates, tacos, salads, we had signature drinks and desserts. They also catered to two people who had food allergies. The food was amazing and we were all so happy with everything. Kyle - You were amazing and we Thank you for such a great experience. He said we could tour the second floor. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They had like a dark Amazon theme on one side, Super Romantic I would say and a Sun side a bright colorful room. Love, love, loved it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]As we walked outside and in front of the band, people were dancing Latin music and I just joined right in. Even one of our group went up and danced as well. She was so happy[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] .

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This was a hidden gym with very cool, eclectic decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The music selection was great and it almost gave speakeasy vibes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is patio, downstairs and bar seating and also two different sides (sun & moon) to sit at upstairs.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]..[[HIGHLIGHT]]that being said, it's not a very big place so I could imagine certain nights not being able to walk in without a reservation.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There were very complex curated drinks on the menu and also classic cocktails to choose from. There wasn't a very big food selection... A few small plates or pizzas to choose from but this isn't a place you'd go to for food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The aesthetics/vibe and the drinks are the main event.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Wow, this place is something else. Let me paint a picture for you.. An unassuming home off a neighborhood street in Lakewood. It takes you a minute to determine which house it is and when you do you find an adorable boho-ish patio with string lights, mirrors, heaters (on a chilly day), and plenty of greenery. When you eventually make it to the main entrance (in the very back), you open the door to find a dark and romantic bar area. A host greets you and takes you to one of their beautiful dining areas. You find the sun room, or the golden hour room, upstairs with a ton of natural light, that gives off a whimsical feel. The next room you find is moody and enchanting, perfect for a date night. It's cool how each room has a different vibe. They clearly put in a lot of work. Now that you know the setting, it's on to the food, drinks, and service. For starters, our server Carlo was outstanding. Carlo was attentive, answered all of our questions (and we're a very curious crew), and made sure we were taken care of. My group started with cocktails. The menu is detailed, creative, and reminds me of a tiki bar menu, but instead a sexy, classy jungle bar menu. I went with the pink river dolphin. Hibiscus flavored vokda, yuzu, rosewater, vanilla, dragon fruit syrup, and egg whites make it frothy and colorful. Everyone at my table enjoyed what they picked out. They even made a mocktail options for one of us. As for food, their menu is limited and includes mainly pizza and appetizers. My group shared the chips and guacamole, which was delicious. We also tried the guava, cheese, and fruit skewers, which were... interesting. As for mains, I went with the pistachio pizza. It came with red onions, fresh herbs, mozzarella, and pistachios on top. When I took my very first bite I immediately noticed how soggy it was. I honestly couldn't eat it. Thankfully, Carlo brought me another one and it was 100 times better. Much appreciated. Overall, I gotta give a four out of five stars mainly because the food wasn't as impressive as I had hoped. I would come back any day to sip on one of their beautiful cocktails, but I'll be weary of what food I try next.

FOOD -- I ordered the Slow Braised Pork ($22) which includes sweet potato gnocchi, fennel, crispy sage, and apple cider glaze. This was a delicious and very hearty meal. I hardly eat pork so I'm glad that I enjoyed the dish. The sweet potato gnocchi was perfectly paired with the pork. Everything in the dish just blended well together. All my friends enjoyed their food too, from the meatballs, calamari, burger with fries, ratatouille, and more. I nibbled on a few of them and loved it especially the wagyu meatballs. The food was all full of flavour. Service was nice all afternoon as the server came to check on us a few times including refilling our water glasses. MINI GOLF -- Head downstairs to play some games. You pay a fee and are then given score sheets. A friend's friend had surprisingly paid for all of us and I had no idea until the next day (for some reason I thought the mini golf was included in the lunch cost...LOL). Each golf game has a different course with some being more challenging than others. I recommend Birdietown Mini Golf and Lounge for a fun day of mini golf plus lunch. We only paid to play the upstairs holes, and it was good enough for us. We did not make a reservation for dinner which we regretted, but they were able to get us two tables in the downstairs area. Not a traditional seating, it was very comfy with one side being a booth and the otherwise having two comfy lounge chairs. I ordered the chicken sandwich, which was large and delicious. The chicken was well fried and the bread was so good. The fries were good, but the aioli was 12/10, so so so good! The food did take some time to come, but they were busy and were kind enough to find a spot for us. I told the staff it was someone birthday in our group and they brought a special birthday dessert which we al tried and it was great. Their menu is worth the price and the vibe is definitely jeans and a nice shirt, or a casual dress. Perfect for date night or a birthday dinner, and I look forward to coming back. The TLDR: staff was really nice, food was great, mocktails a little expensive, and the mini golf was super fun.

Since the Roxy and Mahall's are connected and jointly owned, I want to be clear that this experience reflects on both venues. While my friends and I were trying to find a place to stand, one of my friends was confronted by a couple who were upset that someone was standing in front of them. Instead of simply expressing frustration, they escalated the situation by "transvestigating" her--accusing her (a cisgender woman) of being transgender--and making several derogatory, bigoted comments. It was completely inappropriate and deeply unsettling. Because I've always viewed the Roxy and Mahall's as safe and inclusive spaces, I immediately went to security. Both I and another person explained what happened, but the only response we received was that they would "keep an eye on the person." Knowing that someone was allowed to behave this way without being removed made me feel anxious and unsafe, especially as a transgender person myself. I'm cis‑passing and was fortunate not to be clocked, but the entire situation shook my sense of trust in venues I've always felt comfortable in. I truly hope the Roxy and Mahall's take incidents like this more seriously moving forward. Everyone deserves to feel safe and respected at shows, and bigoted harassment should never be tolerated.
