April 29, 2026 I've lived in Long Beach since 2008 and never ventured in this establishment until I did. I wanted my go-to beer (Stella Artois) and the store was out of it. I asked the person behind the counter if there was something comparable and he pointed out a Pilsner. Stella is a lager but I like Pilsner too. He described the beer as light and from a black brew master in Inglewood. Yes, I said Inglewood. I purchased two cans to try. The gentleman behind the counter is the owner and he was so helpful and friendly, I would support his business in the future. There is no parking lot, only street parking. i actually returned the next day to buy a 4-pack! If it's early enough in the afternoon, you might meet Dave, you is the unofficial store greeter who sits outside the store. read more

This was one of my favorite local liquor stores to stop into. They carried pucker up lemonade which hails from Compton and is also a black-owned business. *Pucker up comes in 30+ flavors and is heavenly, please seek them out. The owner of Ambassador was always a sweetheart, remembered me and my SO, and treated us like family. Then one day it just... Closed. =( So here's my review, albeit bittersweet. read more

Visited Ambassador Liquor for the first time this weekend and my experience was AMAZING. Never thought I'd say that about going to a liquor store lol. Al, the owner gives you a personal welcome and a quick mini tour of the hot/most wanted/latest and greatest items. I came to purchase the new Cali Red wine by Snoop Dogg and in the back of my mind I was worried it would be sold out. But nope to my surprise it wasn't! He has all the items I've been hunting for in stock too. I picked up 5 bags of the Rap Snacks and a few of the Rap Snack noodles. I don't remember how I heard about Ambassador Liquor, but I'm happy I found it. It's not a big store, but they carry so many Black owned booze brands. Yes, there are quite a bit of Black owned booze brands. They had Uncle Nearest and Brough Brothers bourbon and wines from John Legend, Brown Estate, Mary J. Blige, and McBride Sisters. I had to tear myself away because I wanted to buy it all! The service is on point and, yeah, I'll gladly make the drive from Irvine to keep my bar stocked. Oh! So today we ran a few errands in Long Beach and made a stop here! My husband as been here before but it was my first time. Al, was very friendly and informative he even gave me a little hat for my Snoop dog wine. I absolutely think it's the cutest thing, the store is well stocked and very clean. They carry a wide selection of Rap snacks and Black own liquors, beer and wines. Customer service was above and beyond, he also told us about their new beer and Bourbon coming out soon.On the weekends they also have food trucks out front, the one that was suppose to be there today unfortunately had some mechanical problems, hopefully I can catch one next time! When I walked in I was immediately greeted by Al and he showed me various black-owned wines he sold in the store. He was very friendly, helpful and knowledgable. I live very close to this Liquor Store, and the reason I am rating it 3 stars is because it does what it advertises... They sell beer, wine, liquor, soda, smokes, other limited juices... I believe it is owned by a husband and wife combo, they are quiet but nice... Only problem... VERY expensive... 16 oz soda, $1.65... 32 oz, $2.50 Smokes are about 6.50-7 dollars... Liquor is also 30%-40% more expensive Ya they can charge these prices from supply and demand, so it's not big of a deal... read more

My new favorite liquor store! They greet you and give you a tour and background on several products they carry in the store. I loved all the background information and trying new items! I have never tried RAP chips but the owner opened a bag to have my daughter and I try them and we ended up buying some! stopped in today after doing laundry to pick up a bottle of wine. I was greeted immediately (important), then the owner introduced himself to me and gave me a brief (but very cool) history on some of his products. The store is super clean and organized, easy to find whatever you're looking for. the owner said the store is under new ownership and I'll definitely frequent if the customer service stays at this quality. He has E40's liquor and will be soon selling Warren G's seasonings, gotta love a place that respects west coast legends. I'll definitely return! Reasonable pricing as well! read more

Very interesting store and very informative staff who will tell you the story of "Uncle Nearest" for as long you are able to listen. I am not a drinker, but the story of the man who taught Jack Daniel's how to make whiskey is another story of black excellence that is not known to the wider public, and has been buried in the sands of time. Just like "Hidden Figures" it is a story worth pursuing. read more
