If you don't like fish/seafood this is not the place for you, but if you do then I can highly recommend it. However, oysters are expensive. About $3.80 each. Which means if you want a dozen as an entree it blows the price out quite a bit, but, minimum to order is 4 so you can keep the price down by ordering less. Still, a nice casual atmosphere and a good place to go for a lazy Sunday lunch featuring fresh and well-cooked seafood dishes with good service.

So, I drove to Annandale with a couple of friends to try out Fish and Co., a restaurant with a solid reputation and close proximity to my apartment. All I have to say is that it was absolutely sublime. It was Friday night around 8pm and most of the tables were full. The dining area has a warm glow from the lights above, draped with delicate cloth (which looked a bit like Jellyfish). Solid wooden tables give a rustic feel with a simplicity that is all but comforting. Service was genuinely friendly, on point, and helpful. Our waitress suggested the fish of the day, a lovely Coorong Yellow Eye from South Australia. Everyone at the table decided to get it, as none of us had ever heard of this species. For a side, I chose the zucchini and snap peas, delicately stir-fried with mint and chili. My, my. I was blown away by the freshness of the fish, grilled to excellence, and the perfectly matched brightness of the zucchini. My appetite was without a doubt appeased, and I spent only $26. You must go to Fish and Co., which prides itself in being a sustainable fish restaurant. I'm going back tomorrow to try the beer-battered fish and chips.

Parking is a challenge but we were here on a Wednesday midday so we scored a park right out in front. This must be the only parking that is not time limited or attracts a fee. The service was excellent. There is not a view of the beach from the tables but just across the road behind the bush is the beach. Our entrees (first course) were chorizo with a bit of chilli and pear, walnut & goat cheese bruschetta. Very nice. The mains were ploughman's lunch and fried chicken. I was even impressed with the coleslaw. These were reasonable serves and were easily shared. No problems with paying extra for the coffees too.
