I booked the "mother to be" spa package which includes a prenatal massage, facial, and spa pedicure. During my facial, Beata asked if I wanted my eyebrows cleaned up, and I said yes. She did a great job with the facial and my eyebrows! I have a scar through one of them thanks to a childhood accident, and she was so meticulous that you can't even tell. In the past when I've had my brows waxed, the tech left them looking a little uneven or too thin. My skin felt so smooth and soft from the facial. My husband noticed (lol) and complimented me when I got home. I enjoyed the facial and the massage so much that I almost fell asleep during both. Symone did a wonderful job with the massage. The facial includes a neck, shoulder, and arm massage which is just lovely. The pedicure by Candy was also nice, but I had to come back for that the next day due to scheduling issues. The spa is gorgeous and spotlessly clean. They follow all Covid procedures including temp checks when you check in. All in all, I'd recommend this spa for an afternoon of pampering. As for product selling as mentioned in other reviews, when I went to pay, the young woman at the desk told me which products were suggested, but I declined due to cost and she was very nice about it. Beautiful spa and easy to schedule. Love the private room with luxurious room given at check in. There's lockers with key to store personal items in a very nice locker room. Esthetician spoke with me about my skin before facial and it was very relaxing in private room with heated table, soft music and checking in to see how my skin felt. I've been here multiple times & no one ever mentioned selling products as I've seen others mention. I got a great massage here from Twanna! I would definitely recommend her and would certainly go back. She asks good questions (problem areas, areas to avoid), and clearly takes your responses seriously. I felt very catered to. I was also pleasantly surprised by her strength - if anyone is looking for a deep tissue massage, go see Twanna! The space itself is pretty nice, when you go in for a spa service there is a back area with low lighting, water and robes. I visited Amber Spa on 2 recent occasions: Once to get a facial and once to get a spa manicure/pedicure. I thoroughly enjoyed getting a facial there. It was the second time I went for a facial. Very relaxing spa experience. I would give that 5 stars. I found the spa manicure pedicure to be overpriced and a waste of money. The girl talked me out of getting a gel pedicure and tried to talk me out of French pedicure. (FYI, the non-gel pedicure chipped in less than 2 weeks) I came there to get service 2 days before my wedding and I knew what I wanted. She had to take her own nail polish off mid-service which was just bizarre. Also, it took forever. I would give that service 1-2 stars. If you're looking for a facial or a massage, this is a great spot. If you need a mani-pedi, go to Angel Tips on Denow road- so much better, faster and worth the price. read more

Had the worst facial I have ever had by a condescending technician. She was hurried, worried about selling product and her eyebrow services, had nothing good to say about any of the products I use and the ones she could not dispute their quality suggested I replace with a different line as they may be old. Had been a regular Amber Spa client a few years ago, for convenience had changed to Metropolis, but they were booked so ran to amber, will not go back, my time and dollars are not valued there and the facial was awful, did not accomplish my goals for exfoliation and moisturizing, left face dry and rough! read more

This review is for a pedicure. I bought 2 vouchers on Living Social for "Keratin Masque" pedicures for my friend and me. My pedicure was eh. I suppose it was worth the $24 discounted price of that I paid. It was definitely not worth the $41 full price quoted on the Living Social site. First of all, the pedicures were supposed to last an hour. From start, which was soaking my feet in the tub for at least 10 minutes, to finish, which was when my top coat was done; took exactly 34 minutes! The scrub part of the foot rub lasted about 30 seconds and the lotion part of the foot rub lasted about a minute. I was disappointed because that's usually the best part of a pedicure! The "Keratin Masque" consisted of plastic bags filled with heated keratin (I guess that's what it was because nothing was explained to me) that were wrapped around my feet. It was left on for about 5 minutes. At a more upscale salon, which this is supposed to be, I expected a better quality pedicure. I get a nicer, longer foot rub, and better overall, hour long pedicure, at a nail salon in a local strip mall. They charge $28 for a spa pedicure. The woman who did my pedicure was not very friendly but she was nice enough, although she did not explain anything that she was doing. The full price of the service was quoted as $41 on Living Social so I tipped her $8. The atmosphere was pleasant in the salon. They had a sign that said no cell phones, which I liked, because there's nothing more annoying than trying to relax during a pedi and the person next to you is talking loudly on their phone! They have no TV, which I also liked, and they played classical music. The pedicure stations are private with petitions between you and the person next to you, which was conducive for privacy and quiet. The women doing our pedis were talking to each other though, which I could have done without. They need to get a fan in the bathroom too because I clearly heard someone in there "tinkling". What turned me off the most about this spa, was the gloomy receptionist at the front desk (heavy woman, with dark hair pulled back, and dark eye makeup). She was not at all friendly or welcoming. In fact, she was not there when we walked in. I had to call out hello to summon someone from the back. When I went to pay, she asked how everything was and I said good. Then she took my phone to get the Living Social voucher numbers and handed me a receipt. I looked at her, kind of waiting for a thank you, or something like that. She looked at me, I looked at her, there was an awkward pause, and then she said...nothing. There was ono thank you, no come again, nothing! It's like she could not have cared any less that I came in that day. That's not a very good way to run a business, if you want people to return. The last impression I got of the salon before I left after my "just ok" pedicure was negative. Based on the mediocre pedicure and the lack of customer service, I would most likely not return to this spa. read more

This spa is spectacular!!!! They are extreme well knowledgeable and friendly!! I would let no one else do my facials ! They give the best advise on skin care and freely share tips and reasons why certain skin and body issues occur. They are always so kind and I feel so luxurious when I go there . Take your money elsewhere! I'm 8months pregnant and after wasting my time making an appt and driving to the spa to get a wax the woman at the front desk turned me away claiming that due to the possibility of complications she would not have someone wax me! She also claimed that even getting a PEDICURE this far along in my pregnancy would be an issue!!! LOL Needless to say I usually only use this spa when they offer the discounted price on living social but I prefer to go to european wax center... the staff is much more friendly and it's just a better experience all around. I just booked an appt to get a full bikini wax at european center and being 8mths pregnant is NOT an issue. This place is a joke and obviously they don't care to lose customers. read more

This review is based on customer service. My sister was pressured into buying a product here because they made her feel bad about her skin. I went to return it for her because we didn't want to give business to a place that used those tactics and upset her and three people at the front desk aggressively questioned me about the the product, which was unused and unopened. Amazing spa. I've been going there for over ten years and highly recommend. The nail technicians are wonderful as are everyone that works there. The massages are amazing; they offer a wide variety of services and I've always been really happy with everything I've had done there from waxing to facials. They also offer a great variety of top notch products and help you figure out which ones are best for your skin. The Obaggi line has been my fav so far. The owners are really nice people, too. I would love to tell you that I had a great visit at Amber Spa but unfortunately I had to cancel my appointment which was scheduled for a Monday at noon (I canceled at 8AM). The woman who answered the phone berated me and pretty much discouraged me from ever scheduling with them again. She told me they have a 24 hour cancellation policy (they were closed yesterday) which is understandable but if that is how they treat their prospective clients, I don't want to know how they treat their existing clients.
