Once your eyes have adjusted, you can start reading the truly extensive cocktail menu. There are both classic tiki and newer creations available, and during happy hour, some of the simpler drinks (like Mai Tais) are discounted. If you are new to tiki, you might get frustrated with some of the service times, but each drink can be so complex, they take a little longer than your average rail to make (but it's worth it for the layered flavors). Breaker's Roar is my favorite bar in Christiansted, and it is great either as a first drink of the night spot, or as a final hurrah. I have never had a bad drink from them, and I don't even have a favorite, everything I have tried is so delicious. Each drink also comes in a carefully selected vessel, and that id definitely part of the equation in placing an order. The last time we went, there was also a small bites menu that was a pleasant surprise. We liked the two plates we tried, but already had dinner reservations. Next time we go back, we plan to eat a full meal. This place is a must if you are on the boardwalk!

The addition of a fried egg and avocado kicked it up several notches. Glad I passed by this cafe and stopped in. Everything was full of flavor, and the cocktails really stood out. One dish, the grilled mahi mahi, was well seasoned and tasted good, but at $40 it felt overpriced for a common fish and came with overcooked, unappealing sides. The food was ready in the time they stated and stayed warm for the 15 min drive back to our rental. The savory crepe met the standards of a crepe but the chicken filling was just okay. The blt sliders and chicken biscuit were the favorites though and were thoroughly enjoyed. The BLT too was full of bacon and decent tomatoes. Overall a win for us.

We started with the grotto salad and conch two ways ! Wow we were off to a great start and the portions were perfect to share. We then literally dived into the seafood grotto. A large bowl filled with local seafood and an amazing broth to complement the variety of fish . We could not stop there as we went for the plantain foster and what a way to end a special and delicious meal. The staff were welcoming and friendly and totally on point taking great care of us! For our appetizers, we had the mussels and Deviled Eggs - the mussels were very good. And the broth was so good to sop up with bread. We had fuego margarita and Old fashioned for our cocktails. My Margarita had a nice kick. One kid ordered the no-jito cocktail and enjoyed it. For dinner, we had the creole shrimp pasta, ribeye and prime rib. The pasta and ribeye were well received but the prime rib was just okay. We had the zucato for dessert and it was a very interesting, layered, varied textured dessert!
