We had a reservation there for Christmas evening and got seated promptly at our reservation time. It was too dark to see beyond the pool but the open air, pool and beachside vibe was perfect for a vacation dinner. For our appetizers, we had the mussels and Deviled Eggs - the mussels were very good. And the broth was so good to sop up with bread. We had fuego margarita and Old fashioned for our cocktails. My Margarita had a nice kick. One kid ordered the no-jito cocktail and enjoyed it. For dinner, we had the creole shrimp pasta, ribeye and prime rib. The pasta and ribeye were well received but the prime rib was just okay. We had the zucato for dessert and it was a very interesting, layered, varied textured dessert! Food came at a nice speed and the servers/wait staff were very friendly to customers. We are so glad we had our christmas dinner there. read more

This is an amazing restaurant. The ambience, the staff and the food are superb. Adam was our waiter & he was always available to refill water, remove dirty plates, etc. We started the evening with cocktails. A cosmo for me, two blackberry old fashioneds, a grapefruit mule and a Johnny walker neat. The drinks were delicious & potent. We received warm rolls & balsamic vinegar with olive oil. Delectable. We tried the Caesar, garden, Greek & Thai salads. Fresh and well seasoned with house made dressings. Next up seared tuna & escargot. The seared tuna was sliced thin with sesame seeds & poppy seed crust. Beautifully rare. The escargot came with 4 toast points to soak up all the garlicky, buttery sauce. Entrees were lamb chop lollipops chop lollipops. Bleu cheese strip steak, chicken piccata and seafood pasta. Everyone enjoyed their choices immensely. Had lunch here each year I've come, we hike down to the beach near Point Udall and then go to the GOAT for lunch. Excellent cocktails and we each had nice salads. Highly recommend the Thai Salad with shrimp. Beautiful view, excellent service, great location and food. read more

Great Soup and Whiskey builds part of its reputation on fresh home made soups and we went there specifically to try them all. Unfortunately, each of the three offerings had entirely too much salt. It over powered all of the quality ingredients: roasted red pepper bisque, creamy chicken Provence and garlic beef with rice and broccoli. We went to a weekend brunch, not knowing it was mandatory on the island to have reservations for brunch and dinner. They happily seated us, stating another couple would be showing up in an hour and a half to claim our table. We were overjoyed that they would seat us. Are there twice for dinner over the last week. Not impressed. Menu is mostly either steak or pasta. Ribeye was small, thin and overcooked, pasta was over sauced, over cooked, and tasteless. House red wine was not good. Dessert was dry. The saving grace was the service and the view. read more

Very nice open air Restaraunt at the Coakley Bay condos in St. Croix that is open for lunch and dinner. The atmosphere is tropical as you can feel the trade winds while you are seated. They have a great selection of steaks and craft cocktails on the menu. The view over looks the pool and majestic Buck Island. Also a great wine list and local craft beer. The desserts are great too. I'm glad this place opened because it's really convenient for people on the east end and the food is great. read more

Upscale dining with a great view. We stopped in for a Sunday night dinner and, while reservations are highly recommended, they kindly accommodated us when we said we didn't plan on lingering. The drink menu featured some interesting offerings. I had a blackberry old fashioned - the Derelict - which was full of fruit but shy on the whisky. Hubs had Cajun shrimp pasta which was rich and full of great flavor with just the right amount of nicely sized shrimp and sausage. The pasta was perfectly cooked, just past al dente. I had the duck - moist, flavorful and cooked to order - accompanied by a generous serving of fresh grilled veggies and a delightful saffron rice. The chef is very talented! The view is stunning and our server was knowledgeable and pleasant. It was an excellent meal. It would have been ideal, except for the bartender, Cory. He was loud and obnoxious. He was talking to (at?) a couple seated near the bar. We were 15-feet away and couldn't hear ourselves over his non-stop, over-the-top jabber. No one could get a word in edgewise. He went on and on and on about the restaurant in Ohio, how his dad never fixes anything, his move to VI. A waitress patiently asked about a drink order and when the people at the bar left, he ripped into her, f-bombing left and right about how dare she interrupt him. Like an angry badger, he wouldn't let up. It was completely uncalled for and oh so cringy. It really bothers me to see staff treated like that, especially from such a self-absorbed jerk. His behavior really disrupted an otherwise lovely meal. read more

Wow! We had an amazing dinner tonight at the GOAT. We are here in St Croix for our honeymoon and this was our first night out. The view and atmosphere was absolutely beautiful. Wasn't overly crowded. The most amazing escargot we ever had and I had a deliciously spicy drink. (Can't even remember what it was called) Carol was our waitress and she was awesome, just the right amount of attentiveness without being too little or too much.
