I thought it was AMAZING! So fresh, so tasty, and so rich with flavor. There was a nice kick to the sauce and it made the dish all that much better. This restaurant was an experience and definitely worth it to make the trip. Service: 5/5 - Super friendly and welcoming staff. Ambiance: 4/5 - The area was a secluded and not so populated warehouse/commercial district. It's not the greatest but the space for this restaurant is very clean.

Salad bars seem to be a big part of Swedish dining and Rebell's was fantastic. Wonderful salads and slaws accompanied by fresh bread. The counter service was fantastic. The server suggested the "Burger" to me and it was wonderful. It was reminiscent of fried meatloaf, served over creamy mashed potatoes with lingonberry sauce (think cranberry sauce) and peas. It felt like a delicious, hearty home cooked meal. My girlfriend had the grilled Haloumi Cheese with Fresh Mushrooms and Corn. It was a little heavy on the salt and butter, but the flavors were delicious and the ingredients were fresh. And at around $10 USD per dish it was the best value we got on out whole trip! I would highly suggest Rebell to anyone and where near the Malmo area!

The atmosphere is casual which might not make it the optimal place for a romantic Friday night dinner. On the other hand, the price is way below what such a dinner would cost! Their seasonal menus are good and well crafted. The slow cooked beef is great as well as the pulled pork. Once you have chosen your "main dish" you can chose from some sides (rice, mash,,,) as well as a great selection of fresh salads. They have enough to make everyone happy. As of last year you can also have a beer or a glass of wine to enhance the experience. To top it all up the guys owning this place are great. Be prepared to have a nice talk whilst you chose your food, and they usually throw in a nice compliment along the way as well! Pic nic is a must for everyone, but I think it's an exceptionally great place for tourists wanting a nice meal and enjoy Malmö's greatest area and atmosphere!

Our choices for dinner (day before reservation) were seating at 6:15 or earlier or 9:15 or later so reservations well in advance are recommended. We started with cocktails (& they had a few creations) & had a "Buried in Sand" and a "Holy Mule-" Both excellent! Our server was helpful & made some wonderful suggestions once she found out it was our first visit. All the dishes (small & large) are great for sharing. As it seemed a staple of the menu (that changes daily) as well one of their specialties we decided to start with the Bastard Planka. A nice variety of house cured ham, salami, chorizo, pate & pickles-one of the best I've ever had. Also ordered the Klemmings Oysters as our second starter. So fresh, salty & exquisite! For main we ordered the Cod & the Munka Pork (as Pork is their specialty). Cod was cooked to perfection and the Pork had a crust that took it to another level. Both dishes were amazing! We finished with the Pistachio Ice Cream and Paris -Brest. Loved them both but the Paris-Brest is a must try! My only regret is not getting here sooner. Wonderful vibe with great service! They also have a bar area (open kitchen) where you can grab a seat to try some of the entrees or just have a cocktail, beer or glass of wine if they are fully booked. Will definitely be back. Michelin rating well deserved!

The restaurant's design is definitely minimalist with simple blank walls and a comfortable mix of fake and real plants. There was no air conditioning but they found a fan to keep us comfortable- we were amazed that more folks in the full restaurant weren't sweating the way we were. Perhaps the locals are more used to the summer heat with no AC than we were. We had the 3-course prefixe meal with my my wife and daughter on the standard menu while I was on the vegetarian track. The website says that Host is the Danish word for harvest, and that their focus is "on the Scandinavian kitchen with lots of surprises." The staff used the word "surprises" explicitly, using it to describe the amuse-bouches and palette-cleansing bites served between the advertised courses. We started with a flight of croquettes with cheese and I think my wife and daughter had something like a smoked fish hash of some sort while by I had a delightful bite of salad on a molded sweet cookie tart shell. The baby bread loaves with a special butter were lovely - how do you innovate butter? Great job. My first veggie entree was fried carrots with horseradish, which was grand. Next I had a barley risotto with amazing brown beech mushrooms on top. Awesome. There was a spot of potato soup in there somewhere and the best bite of the meal was another of the surprises - a pre-dessert mochi-like shell with strawberry powder on the outside and hazelnut ice cream (I think???) on the inside. The strawberry rhubarb dessert was excellent also. Such a great meal. Loved it.

The portions are just the right size and even shareable. The hubs did the 5-course with wine pairings, dessert and coffee and I the 3-course. I was able to share some of his items and wines as well. They are Michelin recommended and still awaiting a star. Here's to hoping they get it soon. All the servers step up for one another as well and take their time explaining what the item is, all the ingredients and how it's prepared. Check this off your dining list while in Copenhagen!
