It's has something for…read morepeople of all ages. - a trail that goes all along the outer perimeter of the park for walking/biking/skating - soccer fields - baseball field - volley ball court - separate play areas for toddlers and older kids - Pavilions on reservations for special events - lots of picnic tables and seating areas - nice clean restrooms - outdoor theater area - small hilly terrain with picnic tables and seating on top The evenings can get busy though and the parking gets full, but there is ample street parking on the outside. If you haven't been, I would highly recommend this one.

It may have been way too hot outside, but absolutely love the layout of this trail. There aren't too many trees for shade while running but I am crazy when it comes to running which is the way I like to run in the summer! Loved every second of it! I have been to many parks around Houston and would definitely recommend Archbishop if you want a nice scenic, long run. They have hills that you can run or sprint up-and-down on. They also have little stations to do additional exercises along the running trail. Not to mention, this trail runs along side of an amazing lake. love love love!!!

While I got my workout in, I wasn't impressed with the park. First off, it's relatively small. There are some gazebos and benches and such but not much to impress. You can get through the perimeter of the park in less than 30 minutes. With that being said, there is a large complimentary lot which I always appreciate.

The track stretches a few miles and is very scenic with beautiful views. They also have benches and swings splayed periodically along the trail. With a conscience effort to conserve the eco-system, you can see the wild life along some of the paths and even see some fishing on the side. Truly peaceful and serene.

Large park with paved and unpaved trails on the west side of Houston. Located between Katy and the…read moreloop, George Bush park is located south of the freeway and is a vast floodplain with a continuous multi use trail that is accessible to cyclists and runners/walkers. It's also connected to the Terry Hershey trail system and is next to a shooting range as well as some outdoor parks on the south side. This park is best used for cyclists and there are long stretches of pretty exposed trail that will get hot in the sun. There is more of a shaded portion of the park on the west side but the trail quality is also a bit below average in that portion. For walkers, this would be a fairly boring trail that is mostly out of the shade; Terry Hershey would be the recommended trail in that regard due to the greenery. The parking lots here are pretty unsafe on the west side; the best one is in the middle of the park once you go north from Westheimer or the parking lot next to the police station on Barker Clodine. The highway 6 parking lot / Briar Forest lot is not recommended due to break ins.
