Located between Katy and the…read moreloop, George Bush park is located south of the freeway and is a vast floodplain with a continuous multi use trail that is accessible to cyclists and runners/walkers. It's also connected to the Terry Hershey trail system and is next to a shooting range as well as some outdoor parks on the south side. This park is best used for cyclists and there are long stretches of pretty exposed trail that will get hot in the sun. There is more of a shaded portion of the park on the west side but the trail quality is also a bit below average in that portion. For walkers, this would be a fairly boring trail that is mostly out of the shade; Terry Hershey would be the recommended trail in that regard due to the greenery. The parking lots here are pretty unsafe on the west side; the best one is in the middle of the park once you go north from Westheimer or the parking lot next to the police station on Barker Clodine. The highway 6 parking lot / Briar Forest lot is not recommended due to break ins.

Don't let the seemingly small size of this park fool you, because it's deceptively large and it's…read moreeasy to get turned around in it, especially when it starts getting dark, so if you go in the late afternoon, it would be good to have a flash-light and a little extra water...just in case you get lost! Part of the issue is that the official maps and what's on google maps is very incomplete. There are a lot of other paths that aren't on the map that just kind of appear. If you don't cross over any bridges, you'll be inside the official part of the park and worst case, you just circle back around, but if you do go over that Crossover bridge, you'll be treated to some nice hiking, but there is no other way to circle back around because the 2nd bridge will put you in the "uncharted" part of the park and take you to the Pumpkin Lakes and you will have to come back the same way you came. This is kind of a shame and hopefully in time, they'll add another pedestrian bridge near Red Gully Lookout, but hey, you're there to walk so this is a way to walk more! For some reason, even though this is right next to an airport and a large suburban neighborhood, the GPS keeps going wonky too so don't count on that too much. This was my first visit with some other people who had never visited the park so I think we all became experts in the park and won't get turned around next time but a few extra signs wouldn't have hurt to help newcomers.

Arriving at Seabourne Creek, I definitely hit the jackpot. There are beautiful paths to walk along with a nice little lake to fish. Birds, butterflies and everything more a entire preserve needs. The downfall is, me and my pup got there at noon when the sun was out strong. My boy couldn't be out long so we ended up staying for 40 mins just exploring. Kind of a bummer since it took an hour to get there. Definitely a great place to visit when the heat isn't a factor. I have to come back and visit during the morning hours.

I was here at Buffalo Run Park here in Missouri City for an annual running endurance event for charity called Snowdrop 55 hour ultra. 55 hours to do a 0.69 mile loop around the lake. The park itself is amazing and while you can see parts of the lake at different locations, the best ones were on the bridge. During my event here, I saw the sunset over the lake and it was amazing. I saw the sunrise too but on a different area of the park. The park itself was a slice of Missouri city, far away enough from Houston and it was cool just to be here. Half of the park is a picnic ground with a little parking area. The other half is a large asphalt paved path around a large lake. It's quite a nice place to be in, although the weather was okay during the day and wicked cold at night. I guess my local Houston friend was right when she said Texas weather in late December is very bipolar. Can't make up its mind. I assumed it was going to be warmer but turns out, nope. For the most part though, my time at Buffalo Run Park was very cool and glad to be able to come. I arrived at the parking area and walked over to the asphalt trail. The path around the loop was scenic, clear of debris, and you can see snippets of the lake on one side and a lot on the other side. It was definitely worth it though. I highly recommend coming to Buffalo Run Park when you are in the area. It's peaceful and quieter than you think. You'll get a lot of peace here for sure. The overall experience here at Buffalo Run Park was very nice and pleasant. The weather was pleasant during the day with no rain and cloudy / clear skies and a lot of sunshine, but while I was here, the temperatures dipped into the mid 30's F and made it increasingly cold and difficult. I enjoyed the local flora and the trees in the park itself. I'm not sure if people actually go swimming in the lake or fishing, but I'm just a visitor. My time here was spent doing multiple laps around the asphalt lake path that circumvented the lake with many other like minded people and individuals. The bridge overlooking the lake was my favorite part of the loop because it was incredibly beautiful and so awesome to watch the sunset and sunrise. There were some benches along the loop for anyone and everyone who wanted to sit down and chill after walking or running the lakeside path. For the most part though, it was great to be here. I saw this little building that jutted out into the lake. Not sure what that was used for, but just felt like it was something to look at while I was here. I didn't see much of wildlife creeping on the lakefront path, which is a good thing. Only things I saw were local area birds flying overhead from time to time. And so, if you enjoy nature and the peace and quiet, consider coming out here to Buffalo Run park in Missouri city, Texas. Possibly the best time of your life. Buffalo Run Park is located in Missouri City, Texas. It's physically located at 1122 Buffalo Run Blvd in the heart of the city. It's a community park for anyone and everyone, so no admission fees charged. Completely free, which suits me just fine. As far as parking goes, there's 2 parking lots that services the park. The main one that connects you to the picnic area and the boat launch. And the smaller one that's right on Buffalo Run, near the gas station. Best bet would Be to have your own car or rent one. Or even better yet, find local Houston friends and they can give you a ride. Not sure if there is regional public transportation here to get you to Buffalo run Park from anywhere in Houston, but there's always the Internet to help you get your way down here. There's always Uber or Lyft if you require their services. This community park is always in good shape and maintained by the local Park Authority. Maybe one of these years I will come back and get a glimpse at that observatory that they have installed on the lake. Might just be the best viewing station to see the sunset or sunrise over the lake. Maybe not in December but who knows. 5.0 stars for the overall experience. Support local! A+

I bring my coworkers here after work so we can workout and wind down after a 12 hour shift on a psychiatric unit. It's very relaxing and a great way to talk and decompress while doing something healthy. There is also a small playground for children to play. Great park!!!

There aren't too many trees for shade while running but I am crazy when it comes to running which is the way I like to run in the summer! Loved every second of it! I have been to many parks around Houston and would definitely recommend Archbishop if you want a nice scenic, long run. They have hills that you can run or sprint up-and-down on. They also have little stations to do additional exercises along the running trail. Not to mention, this trail runs along side of an amazing lake. love love love!!!

It has a library, swimming pool, soccer fields, basketball courts, and I believe there's a tennis court as well. Since it was already close to closing time at 8 pm, we didn't get a chance to go inside, but the facilities appear to be fairly new. There were quite a lot of people around, with families walking, kids playing sports, and people enjoying the different amenities. It was nice to see such a diverse group of people making good use of this public space. There's also a walking trail, so it's a nice place to bring the family or simply come by yourself for a leisurely walk, some fresh air, or a little people-watching. I didn't notice any public restrooms outside, though, so that's something to keep in mind. Overall, it seems like a great community facility and a nice place to spend some time outdoors.

For both outdoor and indoor activities, this is an incredible option for folks in the community. The space is substantial with a bevy of options that include a skatepark, swimming pool, tennis courts, an enormous children's playground, and lots of room for folks looking to exercise outdoors. It is a pet friendly area and a perfect destination for families, social gatherings, and even special occasions. Parking is abundant all throughout the property. The neighborhood center includes a gym + fitness center (#1), basketball courts, and indoor walking track. There are venue spaces for both adults and children for up to 25 people at no cost. There is also after school enrichment programs for kids, teens, and additional programs for seniors. There are volunteer opportunities and community development programming throughout the year. Because it's still fairly new, the facilities and everything are in good shape. Time will tell if they will be able to maintain it but for now it serves as an ideal resource for folks looking to get active and be a part of the Alief community. There's lots of signs to remind owners to pick up after the dogs. It shows too, this is a very clean dog park, there's benches, and several dog poop bag stations. The large pond is pretty clean for a dog park pond. My dog had a good time here. I also like how there's a dog washing station off to the side. There's a good amount of parking but it can fill up because of other patrons biking, walking, and enjoying the other niceties of the park.

This would definitely be a regular spot for us if we lived closer. Highly recommend!
