I come here off and on for lunch many times. The service is good and they have never made my orders wrong. Food is consistent and fresh. Great Baklava! On the down side the place could use some serious cleaning. Tile Floor needs to be cleaned and resealing. The bathrooms (I'm assuming the ladies is as bad as the men's) need to be updated. And kept clean. No one like to post negative reviews but if we are to be credible in our reviews we have to tell the whole story. I'd been in the road a few days & needed something green & fresh for dinner. Ambrosia's Greek salad really hot the spot: crunchy, juicy tomatoes, not too much onion, crisp green peppers & cucumbers. I'm an expert on Gyros and this place is incredible. I don't live in Missoula but I always gas up at the Costco on the way through town and Ambrosia is only a few blocks away so very convenient. Pita is fresh, meat warm, large quantity, fantastic Feta and inexpensive price. I think there secret weapon is their outstanding Tzatziki sauce that has a fresh, chilled, garlic flavor to it. Understand this is a restaurant where you stand at a counter to order messy food that comes in a plastic basket. It has the typical atmosphere of a strip mall restaurant that has their menu hanging on the wall. What is not typical, however, is this food. This FOOD! I've only been in town a day or two, but this is the best food I have yet found (including the local favorite The Silk Road). They describe the meat in their gyro as "perfectly seasoned beef" and it's not hyperbole. It's a bit salty, but the tzatziki sauce balanced it out just perfectly. The pita was also delicious. I don't think they were homemade, but they're fresh, warm, and a little crispy around the edges. I also ordered the Greek fries and my God were they amazing. They are battered fries, fried to order, topped with dried oregano and lemon juice...and they are perfect. Great naked or with ketchup. Seriously might be the best fries I've ever had. Portions are great; I couldn't finish my lunch. Prices are totally reasonable. I will absolutely be going back here a lot. read more

The amount of meat is generous, tzatziki has great flavor and not too much or too little is used, and the pita is warmed and not too doughy and not too thin. Went in ordered gyro with extra meat. Asked for extra meat on the side and he said they can't do that it was too difficult. Asked for lettuce on side and sauce. Got no lettuce or sauce. Terrible customer service and to top it off it was the owner. Have come here for 20 years and will not be back. I like this quaint little joint. It's close to my house, reasonably priced, and fast. So far, I have not had a bad meal. If you get a gyro, they will definitely fill you up, so come hungry. I had the beef gyro (lamb is only available by the platter). I got it with feta and extra tzatziki to dip my Green (seasoned, lemon juiced) fries into. OUTstanding. Friendly, clean atmosphere, super prompt service. We had take out, but there were several four-top tables to dine in. The pita was fresh and the sauce had nice chunks of cucumber. Overall very good. I am probably a tougher grader than most and it is hard for me to give fast food more than three stars unless it really stands out but I was very happy with my meal. I ordered the gyro platter and no sooner had I gotten my drink and found a table, my meal was already served. The platter was HUGE and half would have been just fine but I didn't complain all that much once I tasted the meat. The gyro itself was very good and it was quite flavorful. The pita bread was good, but it did not stand out in particular in comparison to other pitas that I've had and the gyro sauce was good, but it fell a little flat. Toast the pita a little more and make the sauce more robust and this place would definitely be worthy of a strong 4 stars. Overall, I would recommend this place and I will plan to return read more
