We were so delighted to find this place. The food was fantastic, and the employees were very friendly. We all ordered the beef shawarma plate, which was a huge serving, full of incredible flavor and vibrant color. I also ordered a meal to go for my wife, and they offered to pack the hot and cold portions in separate boxes so everything could reheat nicely later. That was very thoughtful. They also brought out a plate of falafel for us to try, just as a gift. I most certainly have this place on the top of my list for where I will eat next time I am in Missoula, and I'm telling my friends about it too. read more

We were passing through Missoula looking for a good lunch spot and I saw this place pop up on yelp. We love Mediterranean food and Lebanese food, but don't get a chance to eat Arabic food very often. We shared a chicken and kebab plate which was absolutely massive and delicious came on a bed of rice accompanied by a huge serving of hummus and a nice salad. We also ordered a side of falafel, which is more like a meal than a side order. It had probably eat or so falafel balls. A very filling appetizer and the falafel was delicious. This place is totally legit with Arabic grandma's cooking your food you cannot go wrong here. AMAZING! I had lunch with a friend the other week, and he suggested Kamoon. I've now been back over and over because the food is amazing. Best choices: Shawarma: Kamoon's shawarma (beef) is by far the best shawarma I've ever had in the U.S. It is amazing. Super authentic, like eating in Cairo. Tender, juicy, with the most amazing flavors. Truely spectacular. Very difficult for me to order anything else here. If you like authentic shawarma, or if you've never had shawarma, you have to try theirs. Truly amazing. Falafel: I've had falafel all over the world including across the middle east. I had no idea that falafel could be this good. Truly, the best falafel I've ever had. Perfect texture (not hard, not too soft, not too crunchy, really just right), not at all greasy, but what makes Kamoon's falafel the best is the spices they use. The flavor is truly outstanding, like nothing I've ever had. Pita: The pita is made by hand in the store fresh daily. It is the best pita ever. Amazing. Other good things: I tried the beef kabob, but was a bit disappointed because it is actually beef kafta. Their kafta was very good, I'm just not a huge fan of kafta and had expected beef kabob. Hard to complain though because it was very good for kafta, so it's really a "me" problem not a Kamoon problem. Also, the tamarind slushy is super intense. I was expecting American tamarind, which is pretty mild and sweet, but this was more authentic tamarind, which is less sweet and stronger flavor. It was very good, so I've gotten it again, but it just wasn't what I was expecting from a place in Missoula, but it was excellent. Maybe the best thing at Kamoon is the people. I don't know if the folks who work there are the owners, but it wouldn't surprise me. They are super nice and friendly, and make sure you like what you get. Really great experience. Unfortunately, there is one downside. The portions are generous, and because the food is so amazingly great I can't not eat the entire plate. Unfortunately, that means that I always leave feeling like I've overeaten. I keep trying to only eat half and take the rest home, but I just can't, it's way too good. read more

The food was delicious! Inside the shop is small and cozy, it's in a somewhat busy location but it was still spacious and clean. I got the chicken shawarma, with spicy sauce on the side and seasoned fries. First time my group and I have come here and every one of us loved it. It was salty, neatly made, and the spicy garlic sauce has just the right amount of kick. The service was amazing, fast, and efficient. The gentlemen behind the counter was kind and attentive. This is a small family owned business that works hard. The portions are huge and really really delicious. I git the beef shwarma plate and my husband got the chicken shwarma plate. Both excellent flavors and beautiful colors to look at. We didn't order fallafel but we were given a side of it and they were also delicious. The warm meat and rice with the fresh vegetables were a great combo. They don't look like they have a lot of seating but they actually have two areas to sit. Its a little tight but well worth it. You could easily share a plate with someone else and both be full. Look forward to come back. I like a restaurant with a small menu -- I'd rather see a few things done very well than a slew of mediocre options. Kamoon is my kind of place. It's small and it's popular; I hope with continued success they'll be able to get a larger dining room in the future. While I waited for my dinner I watched the food being prepared in the kitchen. I was impressed by the portions, the individual care given to each dish, and the consistency. I ordered beef shawarma and a side of baba ghanoush. The flavors were excellent. I'm used to baba ghanoush that's a little more 'processed' but this was fresh and had chunks of eggplant in it. There was more of it than I could eat. As for the shawarma plate, everything was excellent and well balanced. The hummus, like the baba ghanoush, was fresh and had some whole chickpeas in it, which I liked more than I thought I would. They sent me off with no utensils in my bag, but I ate everything anyway, down to the last grain of rice. I probably could have found a plastic fork in the lobby of my hotel but I didn't want to wait to eat. My one complaint is that there was no lamb on the menu. I prefer lamb to beef, especially in Middle Eastern fare. Maybe there's a supply issue or maybe people around here just prefer beef -- either way, it's a small complaint. So I live really close to this place and I've been waiting for a while to try it since they've been doing the remodel and I have to say it's been worth the wait. I got there commune special french fries with beef stop with onions, fresh tomatoes, sauces, and spices the only thing I have to say is that the french fries could use a little bit more crisp to them, so they can hold all thedelicious flavors on top of them. The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere and happy smiling faces behind the register the chef brought my food to me. And he was wearing a hairnet had clean nail beds and immaculate shirt on overall was very well groomed and almost as clean as the restaurant which is saying something. 8.5/10 I will definitely be coming back and trying their Sister restaurant at night sometime well done....p.s when I asked how much the drinks were. She replied that they were complementary so I went and grabbed a cup without asking what it was. I wish I had because it's absolutely delicious. However arrived for the Sturgill Simpson concert onSunday night ....this place was closed Sunday & Monday! ‍ We have to get back & leaving Tuesday. They aren't open till 4pm! Dang ! I Know the food is excellent by looking at photos bc I grew up in a restaurant family. I suspect the owner works another job or is raising a family... because only open 4 hours a day... I was so excited when I found this restaurant. I live in Kalispell, MT and this restaurant was worth the two plus hour trip. It's a small place packed with a wonderful selection of foods. Prices are very reasonable for the authentic quality and quantity you are getting. You will not go away hungry. I took my two adult children and we had a feast! I had the beef kabob plate, my son had chicken shawarma plate and my daughter had falafel wrap. We also got their sides of falafels and baba ghanoush. Absolutely the best Middle Eastern/Arabian food I've ever had. Better than the ones in Los Angeles for sure. Their flavors are tasty and beautifully complex melodies that make your taste buds sing. The falafels are soft and full of flavors. The best falafel ever! Compared to the big city restaurants. I even had to take home a beef kabob plate for my hubby back in Kalispell! The restaurant is actually two businesses, one is at lunchtime and Kamoon is at dinnertime. We went at dinnertime, but other customers were telling me the other business is just as delicious. The restaurant is very small. They have some bar seating along the windows. Because of the small space they can't handle large groups but they do to-go orders too. While I was there, the restaurant was steady with customers both sit down and to-gos orders. The owner was a lovely man and his family are amazing people. This restaurant is an absolute gem!
