I found this guy here on Yelp and was not disappointed. I spoke to him Monday night, and my papers were served by Tuesday night. It was so easy and worth it. They even had to do a small stake out because the defendants were being dodgy. Talk about fantastic Service! These guys are great for four reasons: 1) Got the job done on the first try 2) Excellent communication skills 3) Very competitive pricing 4) Included the mailing of the proof of service to the court In regards to #2 and #4, I previously hired a process server who got them served, but who failed to tell me that I needed to mail in the proof of service, and that they had not done that. I had thus learnt the hard way that this needed to be done, as I had shown up to court and found that my case wasn't being heard (due to the failure to deliver proof of service). So when I went to Ambush Process Service's website, and they made this very clear that it needed to be done, and the person I spoke to mentioned that it was included in the price without prompting, I was really impressed. After delivering service they followed up with proof of service, and mentioned again that it had been mailed to the court. These guys know how to take care of their customers, at least some of whom will not be experts on going to small claims court (not something I'd ever want to be an expert in). He also went above and beyond in that he realized that the property management company I served was doing business under a different name than the one they used in my lease and notified me. Scott is the best! I cannot recommend him enough-no matter who you are serving he will have a plan to serve them, because not only does he know people, he has a background in law enforcement. He also has a lot of integrity-rare these days-and he will tell you if the job is even worth it. In my case the person has had 33 cases against him, and evades service-so he said even getting a judgment doesn't mean I'd get the money owed to me. I tried using USPS and then the Sheriff's Office. Both failed. The Judge (Small Claims) said he would accept Substitute Service (but not publication in a legal journal). I called Scott on a Sunday and he talked with me about the specifics of my case as it relates to Service. He was very upfront that because of circumstances he wasn't sure if Service would be possible. I was very surprised that in less than a week he had successfully served the other party and sent the documentation to the Court. Scott did an excellent job helping me serve my ex court papers. I met with him and we went to serve my ex that same day. Unfortunately my ex didn't answer the door, just as he did when Sheriff tried to serve him at home, but Scott was patient and we set up another day to get him served. I am amazed! We live behind guarded gates and our neighbor had no reason to open their door. I truly thought serving them for our small claims case was going to be impossible. I do not know how Scott was able to serve, but true to all the other reviews, with in 72hrs it was done. I sent him the papers via email and paid via paypal, I offered to give him the copies I had made at the court, he only needed the email and payment. 48 hours later I get an email stating both neighbors had been served, that my proof of service was in my mail and a copy was sent to the court, instructions on how to confirm that the court receives it, etc. Very impressed. The reason we didn't go with the court sheriff is that they where 2-3 weeks behind and I didn't want to chance it, especially after reading reviews about them loosing papers, etc. I am glad I chose Ambush!
