This is like a night and day difference vs. the AMC Allentown. That theater feels like it should be condemned it is so rundown and outdated. Don't get me started on how awful the food is over there. This AMC Center Valley theater feels much more modern and well maintained. It is enormous and a little confusing to find the entrance if you've never been here before. They have IMAX and Laser 3D and all of that goodness. The seats are comfortable and not worn out like the AMC Allentown too. I have visited this theatre for years, it has gone from an attractive, fun and clean place to see a movie in a nice environment to a dirty, dingy, not maintained and filled with employees and bad attitudes. Don't get me started on the restrooms, mold, grime and GROSS Bring back the previous ownership - what a rat hole. Remember when the signs worked to tell you what theatre you were in? This is not a COVID thing, plenty of employees doing nothing and a building that is in desperate need of repair and better management. I seldom leave reviews, and as someone who has worked in food service I tend to be sympathetic to the overworked staff at theaters. However, we had what I can only describe as a horrendous experience at this AMC with the online ordering system. We got to our theater and found our seats, opened the AMC app and placed an Express Pick-Up order for 4:50. Waited until a little after 4:50 and walked down to the concessions. Our order wasn't available. No big deal, I can chill out for a couple minutes, they're clearly busy. Some guy calls out for online orders, we tell him the name, and he proceeds to tell us to help ourselves for our candy, and then tell him what else we need. This gave me pause because is it not given to them on the order slip? Whatever, we grab our candy and return to the counter. I proceed to wait for about fifteen minutes completely unacknowledged by anyone. Unfortunately I did begin to talk firmly towards the staff because at this point I was missing the movie I had paid to see and just wanted the food I paid for. They were all incredibly rude to me, and hey, I get it, you're stressed. The manager shows up and is rude as well, talking to me like I'm idiotic. There was no apology, no acknowledgment of the wait times, nothing. My real qualm is why this theater was not staffed appropriately to handle the rush of new movie releases. Why are these workers pushed to their limit and so overworked that online orders are literally forgotten? When you have popular movies coming out and a holiday weekend right next to it, you need the staff to back it up. Anyways, my apologies to the staff, and I hope someone with the power to enact change knows that their lack of adequate staffing leads to awful customer experiences like this one. We saddled up to see "Sound of Freedom" at the 7:15 time slot. My wife got tix online and we went in to the Theatre with ease. We passed on concession and asked ticket taker which numbered room our Movie was in. He just grunted and pointed. We went into a unmarked viewing room and watched 45 mins of garbage previews. Mostly demonic stuff. Sure enough Indiana Jones appeared and we realized we were in the wrong room. Young man had to be 17 or 18. Folks these people can vote. Like everything in life, your own common sense (or lack thereof) along with your sense of entitlement is going to go along way in determining what type of experience you have coming here. While I think this place is still the newest movie theatre in the area, it's been around a while now and already has gone through three name changes. I'm not a hipster who's worried about not being able to score a Foie Gras flatbread at my assigned seat or things like loyalty clubs, reclining lounge chairs, being able to pay with an app or picking a seat before hand. Honestly, all that crap is just stupid gimmickery that drives up your own costs. Crazy concept. Don't come on a Saturday Night or an opening weekend and guess what? It's a ghost town. $7.99 a ticket for a matinee the second week of The Incredibles 2 (obviously not my pick) and no extra cost was incurred by buying thru a website and since it was a matinee the theatre had maybe twenty people in it. I mean sure the parking still sucked but that's because the parking sucks everywhere at The Promenade because clearly the place was designed with parking as an afterthought (i.e. there's not enough spaces) but as for the movie/theatre/experience it was textbook. No issue coming back under this type of a controlled environment anytime. read more

For what it's worth this was a pretty good theater. Granted we're in the middle of a pandemic and things have changed it was pretty good. Friendly staff. Everything was clean. Snack options are currently limited and no drink or popcorn refills. Not faulting the staff for following corporate rules, however the prices are still the same. Still giving 5 stars despite the bright orange straight out of the shining bathroom. And not sure why but a cop was walking around the theater. I guess it's good to be safe but a cop dressed all in black during an imax movie about impending worlds end (Tenent) was enough to trigger my ptsd. Not cool at all. read more

I understand staffing is hard but there's two managers on staff that failed to kick out a couple that talked on their phone the entire movie. I left the movie to let a manager know since it was clear that they apparently don't do walk throughs of the theaters like they used to and the manager walked in for a second, the couple apologized, and then as soon as the manager walked back out they started right back up talking on the phone and I already missed part of the movie having to leave so I didn't want to go again. If you know there's a problem guest then maybe you should take the time to walk back through after several minutes to see if they listened instead of relying on your paying customers to leave the movie they paid to watch to do your job for you (which is what the manager basically told me that we are responsible for leaving the theater to let someone know - meanwhile there's nobody in the customer service office so I had to track someone down both times). Two other couples left halfway through the movie and we definitely won't be back either if I know it will be the same experience and the managers do not care. read more

Went to see Black Panther with my two teenage sons. The theater was very nice (although we don't get concessions and can't speak to the long lines most people complain about). My only issue with our experience is that the sound is incredibly loud, mostly during certain previews. I'm getting old, so I don't need the extra help going deaf :-). I did ask my sons if they thought it was loud as well just to make sure it wasn't a generational thing. They booth said it was too loud as well. read more

Faux IMAX. Long waits for anything. Barely functioning touchscreens for the drink dispensers, that never seem to get repaired. More ads than I've ever experienced before the main feature (upwards of 25min from the usual 15min of big multiplexes). After all that, decent audio + video. Oh, and one of the absolute coolest restrooms of any place, theater or otherwise, I've been to--extreme orange lighting that may be jarring to some, but feels surreal and cinematic. Of all the major theaters in our area the AMC in Center Valley is the dirtiest and worst run at all times. Compared to other theaters and also compared to this same theater when it was operated by RAVE and Carmike there always seems to be very limited staff and the entire theater from the rest rooms to the seating area is dirty. This was never the case under the two previous ownerships! It appears now that the theaters are rarely if ever cleaned between shows so when you enter you sit down in an array of popcorn and candy waste from the previous attendees. The restrooms are often without proper supplies. Additionally, the snack bar lines are usually ridiculous, again due to a visibly limited staff. My wife wrote to the theater years ago about this and I tried to write to AMC a few months ago but AMC does not make it easy to contact them about a general also issue like this. This theater in Center Valley is only a few minutes from our house and under the two previous ownerships it was our favorite " go to" theater. Since AMC took it over we have attended on only a few occasions and each time have been disappointed. Instead we now travel 15-25 minutes to go to other theaters in the area. We are so disappointed in what has happened to this formerly great theater. read more

This place has certainly taken a turn for the worse. This used to be our #1 movie spot as we (my family and I) would come here a couple times a month. The place has really gone down hill as the place looks a lot dirtier (does no one sweep in the hallways and near the snack counters?) and doesn't "feel" like the way it used to. The popcorn was also very stale and when we asked for a new batch, they gave us another one, but it was all burnt. The seats are in need of upgrading as they are definitely not as comfortable. The theater was also pretty dirty as when we entered, there was trash everywhere and even trash left in the cup holders. When watching the movie, there was a weird line that was entering the screen every couple of minutes... kind of ruined the whole movie experience. We now go to AMC 309 which is about the same distance as this one is to us... such a shame since we've been coming here for over 10 years! read more

I just got back from seeing Peter Jackson's excellent film, "They Shall Not Grow Old." I highly recommend this film. I cannot however, recommend this theater. 3D glasses are needed to fully enjoy this movie but none were provided when I bought my ticket. At a previous special event here, the house lights went up ten minutes before the film ended, ruining the final scene. It's no surprise that most people would rather stay home and watch movies in the comfort of their own living rooms that have to put up with the lousy customer service at one of these large chain theaters. I recommend going to the Civic or Emmaus Theater instead. read more

This movie theater has gone through so many owners in the past few years, it's hard to keep track of its current name. The bathrooms are horrifically painted in bright orange with orange filtered light; it's enough to make you feel ill if you didn't already. The theater itself is pretty standard, nothing stands out. Since the Rave was sold to Carmike, this place has gotten terrible. The people who work there are lazy and rude. I have had nothing but problems there ever since Carmike has taken over. The place is DIRTY, and if you ever have a problem with noise or disturbances while watching the movie good luck finding or having anyone that works there do anything. The tickets, food, and drink are all overpriced. I have been going to this theater ever since it opened. When Rave owned it, it was always neat, clean, and properly run. Rave hired local police officers to keep the place safe while you enjoyed your movie. Now, they have rent-a-cops who are just as intolerable as the staff. There is nothing but problems around the theatre. Gang violence, fights, theft, car damage are just to name a few. Don't let the fact that its located at the Promenade fool you. Sadly, you are better off going to AMC (lol). It is SO disappointing that this theater has gone down the gutter. read more

IMaxium Disappointment... This was the second time in this Theater with my family and of course... the last this past Saturday night. It started out with quick ticketing and friendly staffing at the door and distribution of the 3D glasses, but as we walked in to the halls to we noticed that the floor was dirty and full of garbage, oh well, this happens time to time. As we went into the Theater #4 (IMax) to grab our seats the theater was filthy as it hadn't been cleaned at all. There was only a choice of the first 2 rows which in most cases was OK, but this seating arrangement is terrible, you are so close to the screen you can see the pixels and how bad the screen is out of focus. (also whatever was spilled on the screen in prior viewing was easily visible). We were sitting in the middle of the row, which was all that was remaining in either row,. From here you need to look left and right to see whats going on during previews and the movie, not to mention you will need to look straight up for the entire movie. Now, IMAx says there is not a bad seat in the theater, I strongly disagree. I had left the theater to see an attendant and asked if I we could go to another venue, she replied "You can TRY and ask the manager up front'" but she doubted it would happen. "There should be a cutoff on how close you sit" I replied. After about 35 minutes of out of blurry previews you are prompted to put on your 3D glasses and if I had not looked at them before entering the theater i would have been looking though whatever food or ? was smudged on them. After watching the movie,, Star Wars "The Focus Abated" I wasn't the only one with a stiff neck and back from the most uncomfortable seat and positioning. This is my truthful review and I believe 1 star is a bit low and I would give another half if available on here, but so many areas of this theater can be improved, read more

This is by far the best mainstream theater in the LV. Stadium seats are very plush and comfortable, aisles are clean, popcorn is DEELISH, fountain sodas are cold and the movie screens have great, clear pictures. I also love the seats that allow you to move the armrest up so you can snuggle with your girlfriend/boyfriend/husband/wife/mistress...not that I encourage that sort of behavior but to each his own. It's very modern, so if you prefer vintage theaters, this probably isn't for you. Naturally, all the bells and whistles come at a price...it's definitely not a bargain theater. However, I am of the belief that you often get what you pay for. Located in the Promenade Shops, there's a lot to do before and after the movie. A little shopping, dinner, drinks, coffee, there's something for everyone. read more

When we first moved to the LV three years ago, we stopped seeing movies. Most of the theaters were woefully out of date, and the few that had updated equipment & stadium seating were always packed & dirty. Then, about 2 years ago, Rave came to town at the Promenade shops. I still don't see too many movies, but this is the only place we go to partake in movies. They've got enough DLP screens to see the big movies on them. Prices are mostly reasonable ($7 for matinees/children/seniors & $9.50 for evening shows). Of course, concessions are "over-priced," but that's where they make their money. I went to visit in laws this weekend and we took a break and caught the latest Star Wars movie. I gave it five stars, not only because of the movie theater, but because of the shopping complex it's located in. It feels as if you're in a small little town. Almost like Pleasantville. You would be tempted to shop at such stores like Pandora, New Balance, Banana Republic, and other inviting retailers.
