I see a lot of movies and I rarely encounter an issue at this theater. I saw a movie and forgot to scan my AMC stubs account barcode. Naturally while in the movie, the ad they play every time tells you can get points for the movie and to approach a worker after the fact. Since I forgot, I did that. I was rudely told it was too late and that I couldn't. I contacted support in the app and they even have an article saying that you can and that you can ask a person at the theater or contact support. Either this worker was ignorant of this fact or was simply being rude as it appeared to be the case. read more

The manager is a smart mouth jerk . I would never ever recommend coming back to this place they need to look at there employees and do a hard overhaul . Went to a movie at 6:50 got out at 8;40 at 8 pm tried to get a refill of popcorn to take home to my daughter and was told no they shut everything down being a stubs holder we get a free refill . Never once when I asked did they say they quit making popcorn at a certain time . I asked if I could come back tomarrow since they already got rid of everything and that's when the manager started being absolutely rude and smarting off . read more

Due to this being the only movie theater in the area (within 50 miles at least from the next one) you would think that this theater would be well equipped to handle a moderate to large crowd...NOT. To be honest there were only two cashiers working the concession stand, which is also where you buy the tickets from, and one young man behind the counter doing everything but trying to help out. I've been to this theater many many times before in the past, but this is the worst shape I've ever seen it in. I went to a 6:45 viewing of the Lion King on a Friday, so i would have thought that the theater would be prepared for a large number of customers to show.; however they were not. The floors were nasty with unswept popcorn everywhere and the trash cans overflowing. There were only two cashiers checking people out to purchase tickets/snacks and the theater had a stale unkept odor. One would not expect this due to the weekend being a prime time for business and the expensive cost of tickets and refreshments. Needless to say, management needs to do a better job at making sure their facilities are cleaned and properly staffed. read more

Rude individual at ticket stand. Went to hand him my tickets to enter and he walked off and went into one of the theaters. Waited for someone to accept my ticket and a couple laters another individual came and got our tickets. As we went in the individual that walked off was standing at the end of the ramp watching the movie. Horrible customer service! read more

This place has gone so downhill! On our recent visit they woman behind the counter was really rude because we didn't know the level of membership we had. (Seriously?! We're supposed to know your ridiculously omplicated customer loyalty scheme when you can't even find us in your system without a phone number, name AND email address!?) BTW, if you've ever been in customer service or sales, you're probably aware that you don't ask a customer why they didn't give you a coupon first. And for heaven's sake, you may be having a bad day. But the customer shouldn't have to share it with you. A little smile goes a long way. Maybe a little basic training of personnel is in order? We went to the AMC theater in Florence AL. The place is dirty, stuffy, and smells. Halfway through the movie we were watching I felt something crawling on my neck. It was a cockroach!!!! Disgusting to say the least. Couldn't even enjoy the rest of the movie because I felt like something else was crawling on me. After the movie I went to ask for a manager to give my complaint. He said that a few days before they just had sprayed for bugs, and that no one before me has ever complained about it. The least he could've done was apologize and refunded my tickets. I will never go back there again and I will tell my family and friends not to go there. read more

Not a bad experience. COVID has had an impact on the facility and staff. Perhaps management needs some support. This area is a small market but with a little more attention the cinema will get the reviews it deserves. I do feel uncomfortable with the threat of bringing guns into a building where half if the customers are young people. read more

We recently visited the AMC Florence theater. We had on our winter clothing and our coats and were still cold. I had a blanket in the vehicle, which we went and got....to just to try to stay warm. The price of the tickets and the one popcorn and drinks that we purchased was ridiculously expensive. My brother and his wife visited AMC Florence a few days later, and they also said that they were extremely cold and miserable during the movie and would not be back. I too would give you less than one star if possible. AMC....you need to do better....take care of your customers. Turn on the heat!!! read more

I was going to go to a 7:40 movie. I always come around 20mins after the posted time because I don't want to sit through previews. I came at 8:00-802 and the doors were locked. I knocked on the door because the workers were close but they kept their backs turned. After a while of knocking because I just knew it was ok to buy tickets late they finally came to the window. They told me they locked the doors and closed at 8 , I said even for the 7:40 movie? I'm willing to pay for it so nothings to lose. She kept saying she was sorry and couldn't do anything. I am a local. Only theater in town. You are better off waiting until the move comes out on blue ray than to watch it here. You may be in line that long. Never seen a business run more poorly. Absolutely terrible service and terrible management. 19$ for 2 large drinks and my wife and I (well over 17) were asked to show i.d. I have mine in my wallet while my wife has a picture of hers. They have a monopoly and as the only movie theater in town, they have my business. The lobby regardless of time of day is always dirty, the floors gray/black despite the tile being brown beige. Popcorn, drinks, popcorn topping and trash are almost always present on the floor. The theater is almost always understaffed and overwhelmed. The film selection isn't great typically having the latest superhero film, animated features, horror movie and faith-based film but if you're lucky, they might have awards worthy films for a few days. So check daily or you might have to drive to Huntsville or further to watch that character driven, performance fueled movie. The theater has changed ownership but sadly it's no better than it was and I might say worse than it was and before that I didn't think that was possible. At least I haven't walked out of screening to witness the manager berating his crew while alternately beating a popcorn machine with a hammer and menacing employees with the same hammer. Better than having no theater at all just barely but it is. Because we live in a small town doesn't mean we should forego the expectation of quality and service but that seems almost a constant theme and when you ask long time locals there response is, what do you expect in a small town. If you're charging big city prices, I expect for people to give a damn. read more

The box office is never open in front, so it is impossible to just walk up and buy a ticket and go sit in your seat. They force you to stand in line at the concessions to purchase your ticket, even if you've already bought them online- you have to have a printed ticket. They lines are usually very long, and only one or two people at a register ( who are also preparing food) as they taking peoples money and printing tickets. NOT WORTH IT read more

Friends and I decided to see the new purge movie. My boyfriend and I as a couple just on tickets spent around $27.00 not including drinks and candy. The movie started at 8:00 however, at 8:15 the theater wouldn't sell anymore tickets and the CREDITS WERE NOT EVEN FINISHED. They missed out on probably 70-90$ worth of sales. Then they gave us an attitude when we asked for a refund because our friends couldn't get in! It's bad business and they shouldn't stop selling tickets till the movie actually starts 30-45 mins of credits is more than enough time to sell tickets. I will not go back. read more

Dear "AMC Classic" movie theater, I have an ingenious business idea for you. Since you're going to make us sit in a meat cooler for a movie theater, you should really consider selling $20 cups of hot tea and coffee outside the theater when each movie finishes, because I certainly would've paid it. Maybe that'll earn you enough money to actually pay your utility bill to keep it above freezing inside the theater. I came in to town from Huntsville to watch Glass with friends during the movie's first couple days out at a 7:30 pm showing and apparently that wasn't a good enough show to turn the heat on for. I left my wool coat and gloves on FOR THE ENTIRE MOVIE and my 4 friends and I froze the entire time. I get it. Movie theaters are always cold, but I'd be shocked to find out it was any higher than 55 degrees in that theater. Bottom line. Pay your utility bill guys. Forced to stand in line at concession stand 30 minutes waiting to buy a movie ticket since the concessions are where tickets are purchased. The concession area is gross. Took my Mother there to watch Skyscraper for her Birthday. Popcorn was overly salted. Bought a huge bucket and only ate a small handful. Sound was down so low you couldn't hardly hear the words. The theater itself is nice since it was renovated not too long ago. However, it get's a 2 rating for being incredibly overpriced. I don't know how families can afford to take their kids to the movies, because 2 tickets was almost $30 - could you imagine a family of five?!. There are theaters just 45 minutes away that sell tickets for $5-$7. The refreshments are also way overpriced and takes forever to get through the line. I waited 20-25 minutes just to buy a small popcorn. This would be a great theater if they could just adjust their pricing. read more

ZERO STARS. VERY VERY BAD EXPERIENCE EVERY TIME!! Understaffed & overpriced. Patrons talked out loud during the entire movie, selfies were made with flash, and the man in front of me vaped & his fumes wafted over those of us near him! Paid over $25 for 1 ticket, 1 popcorn, 1 soft drink and NOT ONE TIME during the movie did any employee check on the audience or make themselves available INSIDE the auditorium to monitor what was going on or check the emergency exits. A disaster waiting to happen! Service was MUCH better when Carmike owned the theater; AMC upped the price of tickets & refreshments TREMENDOUSLY and then LOWERED the staff number this giving consumers a HORRID experience. Plan on a 30-minute wait in the ticket-slash-concession line...because tickets are now purchased at concession stand rather than ticket office. They do this so you will buy a membership allowing you to use "Stub members only" line which shortened my wait ONCEIN 1 year!!! AMC is all about their profits which is okay when balanced by proper services rendered. But for now plan to pay about $25+ per person or more for ticket/popcorn/cola (candy and other foods not included) and in return you will have an experience of "anything/everything is allowed" once the movie starts. I complained to a manager but was given no solutions & no refund, was told by several employees that they are horribly understaffed, thus they dont staff the ticket booth or make occasional rounds to assure a good experience to the paying public. I will start driving an hour to Huntsville, rather than 7-minutes to Florence, for a better experience!!! That should tell you something about this place!!! read more
