I had a wonderful experience at this location of AMC! It's been awhile since I've been in an actual theatre since being back in the states and here in El Paso! The theatre did a great job of bringing back this "comfort" feeling! Each staff member did their best to assist with ticket purchasing, navigating to the theatre and overall just being pleasant. I know some people have given up on theaters but this one was clean, great ambiance, classic smell and truly had a great feel to it! The popcorn was fresh, snacks were great (as always)! I'm so disappointed in the theater because of the Mortal Kombat is coming out on the 7th next week. My husband and I went to go see if we could get merchandise for the movie, Mortal Kombat but was told no. The merchandise will be sold on the seventh, which is a Thursday. Can't make it because I'll be in Dialysis. Well my husband and I will be on Dialysis and two. I'll be in the hospital for a week so they can determine what kind of seizures I have. So, I have a lot of health concerns that I have to go through as well, as my husband. So, I'm very disappointed on the situation at hand. read more

This theater by far has the best deals less expensive then other around, I wish they had a location in horizon, every where movies are so expensive here you get your membership and get to see 3 movies a week every week for a month for only 21 dlls , when at Cinemark it's 12 dlls per ticket and the seats don't even recline, if you want reclining it's even more expensive read more

The theater I was in smelled like sweaty workers had sat there all day long. I tried different seats, it smelled the same everywhere. The bathrooms smell like someone with a bad UTI peed all over the walls. Two of the restrooms smelled like that. Not even the old Movie One theater on LTrevino smelled like this. This is our go to theater! It's low key and not always crowded. When we go it is clean and staff is always kind to us. We love that they have vegan options here that our family can enjoy. The bathrooms are always clean when we go, the theaters are also clean and we haven't had any issues with the seats thus far. read more

I was so disgusted by how filthy this place was from the main entrance to the theatre to the bathroom. There was popcorn everywhere like no one had vacuumed for days! The bathroom was empty and there was toilet paper all over the floor and the sink are was filthy and one of two sinks not working in the women's bathroom near theatre 9-12. Went to go see Heretic tonight as a date night recliner seat was broken on my husbands chair. It seems like it's always a toss up whether you get a proper recliner or not. Even after notifying and employee, the lights remained on through the whole duration of the movie, a movie that partly took place in a dark basement. AMC really went down hill the past few years. Since this theater is close to my house I decided to check it out, and have gone a couple of times since then, however, it's not "pretty" as most of the other theaters in El Paso. The location is a little off; it's not easy to get to and isn't next to anything except a hotel and a clinic. From the outside you may think it was shut down, as they seem to be renovating (although I think it's been happening for quite some time). Nevertheless, I was able to see a couple of movies here and although it was a little "divey" it served its purpose. Will I go here again? Yes, because it is 4 minutes from my house, and the next nearest theater is 20 minutes away. Will I eat any kind of concessions snacks here? Not a chance. Will I let my actual flesh touch the movie seats? Most likely...I will always be fully clothed. read more

AMC El Paso 16 has a great parking lot, and facilities. They have a wide selection of snacks and drinks including alcohol. I dislike that when you get there there is seldom anyone at the ticket boot so you come in thinking you can purchase your tickets on a machine but no you have to make a line at the snack bar to purchase tickets. Usually there is only 1 or 2 people behind the snack bar so it takes a long time to get your tickets even if you are not buying snacks. I do like that they have self serve soda fountaIns that is progressive and effective. BTW your movie will literally start 30 minutes after is states it will because of Ads. read more

This is a low key theater which just happens to have adult beverages in the lobby! The decor it cute, the seats are nice. They even have seat warmers! The seats are comfy recliners and you get to choose your seating. The management makes this location a bit questionable. During our movie the volume was too low. I left the theater and complained to a manager, but unfortunately nothing changed. I am not the type to walk out of a movie and ask for my money back so I just lived with it. Unfortunately the volume issue was made worse by a family whose children were talking during the entire film. Had management come in to monitor the movie for a few moments they would have observed the low volume and the loud family. The concessions were good. Fresh popcorn and macaroni and cheese bites (which come with marinara). Tasty! This location has drink stations where you get to choose your beverage and flavorings. I do wonder if you can refill - that would be a nice touch. (Of course the concessions are pricey - but that's standard procedure for movies). I would not make this my first choice of theater but would make it a viable second. read more

Ive been an A-LIST member for two years now. Ive been to a ton of AMCs all over california and they're great. Being here in El Paso sucks in terms of AMC. This theater is definitely one of the worse Ive been to. Machines are never working, theres always a mess everywhere, staff are rude, the screens suck, audio sucks, popcorn always old and stale, and chairs are broken. The roof before you go is damaged and looks like it's going to fall on people. The inside is disgusting with roaches. The employees are rude and don't do a good job of cleaning the concession area and the bathrooms. The employee used a family bathroom and when I took my daughter in after them, they didn't flush the toilet. There's only a Family bathroom or Men's room by the theater. I think it's ridiculous that women are being erased and no one bats an eye. They do not refund money. They are terrible. The worst theater. I hope they close down. Or someone else buys it and renovates it and makes it better. It's despicable how the people in the Northeast side of El Paso are treated. read more

As an A-list member I have been to many locations. I travel for work so I have a chance to experience different locations in different states. By far the worst experience has to be this one in El Paso. Movies never start on time, there is minimal staff even on busy times. Last time my showing started at 12:15pm, they didn't even begin to show previews until 12:55pm. read more

When you walk in no one is there giving directions and the concession stand had popcorn all over the floor with a bag filled with red liquid just laying on the floor. Some of the recliners were broken and they do not clean between showing. There was popcorn all over the seats. This place needs some serious attention!!! The movie theater didn't turn on the Dim lights so we were forced to use our cell phone lights to safely get to our seats. The floor was covered in Popcorn, so it was obvious it hadn't been cleaned in awhile!! Very disappointed in their lack of caring. I reaches out to the theater to let them know my complaints. They gave me tickets to give them a wnd chance. Went today, a month later from last visit. Big improvement. Happy to say, lights were on, theater was clean and it was a much better experience!! We are frequently movie goers and watch at least 3-5 per month. I generally like AMC and want to love this theater (because of the big seats) but the upkeep is terrible. The latest experience I had at AMC 16 was one of the biggest reasons these theaters are outdated, ran by individuals who don't love movies, and when it comes to sound and format ratio of the film. We saw "The Northman" a Viking movie with subtitles in certain sequences, like 30% of the movie is in old Nordic language, and we couldn't read the subtitles. Not just that, but we noticed the theater we were in had a destroyed roof, poor sound quality, and the aspect ratio was cut in the movie which ruined the beautiful landscape shots. That being said and to make this long complaint come to an end. We talked to the manager and addressed the issue. The manager literally cut us off and asked "is the film done yet" leading to the question of whether it was about a refund. We just told him, because they need to be aware of the problem. So this guy tells us, oh I heard about it for an earlier show......which means they knew the film needed a projection adjustment!! So the manager of the amc 16 told us, this and we responded with, truthfully this is why we go to ALAMO DRAFTHOUSE OR FLIX BREWHOUSE. Because they actually give a damn about how their customers feel for a movie experience. We will never return here again, and furthermore it's sad that in this economy, the management clearly doesn't care which is sad. DONT WATCH THE NORTHMAN HERE. I came to this location with trepidation since my in laws were used to it being run down and dilapidated. I bought my tickets on the AMC app and it was pretty easy to find parking and just walk in. I recommend doing that since the lines were pretty long. We were able to get to our assigned seats quickly, and get some alcoholic beverages, but the lines for popcorn were extremely long, even with A List status. It's been renovated and we had a smaller screen but with lounge chairs. I liked these chairs because they lay almost completely flat AND they were heated. We did see some people try to sneak in, but since it was assigned seating and opening night, all the seats were taken. I did have to go to the bathroom during the movie and while I appreciated how close it was to the theater since it was centrally located, it was pretty run down. The toilets weren't self flushing, the sinks have 2 different soap dispensers, which was confusing since only one worked, and it wasn't well maintained. All in all, it was a decent experience, but definitely not up to par with the newer AMC's since it's just an old theater renovated with new seating and a bar added. read more

This place fucking sucks. We came to watch a movies before picking up the kids from school/daycare. They are out of nachos (on a Friday afternoon) and also out of the large popcorn tubs. The popcorn is already "ready" and set aside to get--so not freshly made. Too salty. The bread for my hot dog was stale. When we came into our auditorium we walked into the wrong movie because the girl at the front said it was a different one. When we finally got inside the right theater we watched the previews and all of a sudden the lights turn off...we go out and let them be aware that we are here to watch the 1:50pm movie and nothings playing. $5 for military members after matinee? Woo hoo! This place was very clean and the folks working had great customer service skills. I went ahead and gave them the extra star but really need to add one complaint. We went to see "I Am Number Four". The beginning of the movie is very dark and for some reason, the resolution on the screen was very poor. It was almost too small to be seen in the last row. If I had to offer a recommendation for improvements, I'd say to invest in IMAX or better overall screen quality. But if this means a raise in ticket prices, we might just have to hold off for now. Oh yes, the parking was plentiful and even the snacks were reasonable. $21 for a medium popcorn, 2 icees and chocolate covered almonds. Watching movies in LA were you can reserve your seats or were there is a bar in the theater, you can come to appreciate prices such as these! read more

One of the nicer in the area (in my opinion) it's worth a watch with the comfortable seats and screens placed perfectly for your comfort. My kids like it because of the movies, I take them for the comforts of home. Staff there are friendly, normally will knowledge you unless they are cleaning a major Mess by the drink stands. Meh, it is what it is. Inexpensive tickets, regular priced concessions. Not bragging but my 80" tv at home shows better than the tiny screens here, although the sound is way better than average. My elementary school auditorium was bigger than the theaters. Lobby is messy and needs a more attentive staff to tidy up a bit. Probably wouldn't return. I'll be honest, I've never done a Yelp review before, but our experience wasn't the best here. Went to the teatjer for date night with my husband and we we got to our seats our recliners were broken. We talked to the manager and he fixes them, we were like cool thank you and brushed it off. Then we waited 30 minutes after they were suppose to deliver our food, so I went to the snack counter to ask about it, and it was sitting there, they forgot about it, and there were about five people behind the counter just talking. What made it worse was that all of our food was cold. Then, lastly, the sound system broke. During the movie, and remained broken for about 20 minutes, really wrecked the whole feel of the movie. I really wanted to enjoy the night and see a nice new movie, but I was not impressed with this theater. read more

Just drop my son off for movie I encountered a young girl name Esmeralda so unprofessional feels she can talk to people anyway she wants to when I was trying to ask questions about the A-list she asked me "do you understand?!" rudely ,viciously. Concession area was hectic, dirty, messy. The lobby was Smokey. The drink area- the floor was SOAKED. Nobody bothered to mop it up, just threw a wet floor sign on it. The women's bathroom was disgusting. Pee and toilet paper all over the floor. The theater itself had popcorn all on the floor & seats, even though two ladies were "cleaning" it when we walked in. Something sticky all over the seats. My food was burnt. I wish I could say we would return as we've heard good things, and have been AMC members for years, but we won't. read more

This was my first time here since it became AMC not Carmike's and I was surprised at the upgrades. The first thing I noticed was no more arcade :o they didn't even replace it with anything! While waiting in line, they have a "gold member" line as well and they get preferred over us, the common folk and I'd say about 5 people "cut" before we got to order. The new seating is nice, heated and reclines but you can definitely feel the space they take up and the theater feels smaller. They have $5 Tuesday's and that's the only day I'd suggest going. read more

So I booked my tickets on the AMC app show up and someone is in my seats. I tell them they are in my seats and show them my online email confirmation, he then shows me his confirmation with the same seats, auditorium and movie time. I go to guest services and they tell me they were double booked. Double booked reserved seats by the way. They tell me some seats were available in the row right below so I go back and guess what. Those seats have people in them also. Go back out to guest services and turns out those seats were taken also. I ended up getting a refund for my food and tickets since at this point the movie had been going for 20 minutes. As I look at my refund receipt I notice it's not for the full amount. I tell the girl and she says I would have to call corporate since they can't refund fees. I just spoke to corporate and they stated that they don't refund the booking fees per their policy. Seems like an easy way for them to make money. Charge for something and don't give back full refunds per policy. Never going back to theses theaters again. read more
