Just came from seeing the new Mad Max: Furiousa movie at Alamo Drafthouse and it was an interesting experience. This was my husband and I's first time at Alamo so we didn't know what to expect. Back home in SoCal I had been to a few in-service movie theaters and in all honesty those ones were much better. To start off with the good, the theater is very big and looks to be brand new. It is the only establishment in the lot except for a McDonald's and a gas station so I'm assuming it was recently opened. The theater was nice and open, they also kept the temperature at a good spot unlike other theaters who will literally freeze you while you watch a movie. Our server was good, at least the first one that came to introduce himself and ask if it was our first time. I think they have a crew that just delivers food or comes around to check on you cause I kept seeing different people every time something was dropped off. Now for the food... honestly it was disappointing. The only positive I can say is that the loaded fries were good. Both my husband and I enjoyed those. But that's where the good ended. I ordered the watermelon margarita for myself and unfortunately had to send it back due to it being extremely salty! I asked for water instead, which I stuck with for the duration of the movie. My husband ordered the bbq chicken pizza, which he says wasn't too bad. I did have a few bites and really don't think it was worth the hefty $16 price. It didn't really taste like bbq chicken to me, I can't put my finger on it but something tasted off. I got the ribeye tacos and they were very salty. Not only that but the meat was really dry as well with almost no other toppings. The chips and salsa that came with my meal didn't really help either. The chips were super salty and the salsa just didn't taste good at all. I see a running theme at this theater for having salty food. So take that with a grain of salt (pun intended). One thing I do have to say is that despite only taking a sip or two of my watermelon margarita and sending it back for a glass of water, it appears we were still charged for the drink. Unfortunately my husband didn't check the bill and also didn't mention anything until we got home but I think we were overcharged on our bill. I totaled everything and it should have been around $51 but my husband said he paid over $80 including tip. I don't think he would have tipped $30 so I believe we were charged incorrectly. Another reason why their rating is so low. Overall I don't know if I would ever come back here. The theater is nice, big and new - but the lack of flavor in their food and drinks as well as overcharging by what I consider a big amount on our bill. I just can't recommend Alamo Drafthouse. I think going to Cinemark and just getting a popcorn and candy would have been a better bet. read more

We love going to Alamo & enjoying movies & food. The food is always delicious. The servers are great & efficient. The ambiance is great, nice seats that recline. The bad side of Alamo is that the app is continually down. I have tried for three hours to purchase tickets for a movie today with no luck. I keep getting different messages saying I am Unable to purchase tickets. My daughter has tried from her phone as well with the same results. We are both Season pass holders. We have had similar issues on the past with this app. They really need to fix all the glitches in this app it's frustrating & an inconvenience for season pass holders. read more

The pickle popcorn was a little sour but next time I'll tell them to mix with butter so its not too sour. The Churro popcorn smelled so good. Smelled like disney lol. The staff is always nice. Great new location! My friend and I came her3 for the Phantom of the Opera movie party - our first time experiencing the fun of a movie party evening! We each got our own popcorn and drinks and loved the experience, but agreed the seats were on the small/narrow side and meant we were really close to the strangers reclined in seats adjacent to us. The new space is beautiful, service is very good, and the parking lot out front is plentiful. We got tickets ahead of time and just had our QR codes scanned upon arrival. DUMBFOUNDED! Man, I've been a subscriber to Alamo's (rather sh*tty) monthly subscription service for over two years. So has my girlfriend, mother, her mother, and child. We spend an average of 100 US American dollars on food/beverage every visit. You would think this type of loyalty would be rewarded with common courtesy and respect. NOPE! My girlfriend and I attended a screening of a classic film which had rather humorous aspects. Said girlfriend and I chuckled quite a bit. This was not welcomed by the rather uptight clientele of the night. Upon being notified of a complaint about our joyous reaction to the film, we were told to quiet down or get kicked out. This saddened and angered us. We chose to leave. Management didn't care. Didn't try to understand the situation. Didn't try to understand what loyal customers we were. We won't be back. We'd rather wait two whole weeks to just get these movies on VOD at home. We hate Alamo. Can't wait to see you out of business soon. Later, my dudes! read more

Ok I'm a fan! I've been to an Alamo Drafthouse cinema in Dallas, but for whatever reason and to my surprise the experience at this one was much better. Came her for date night with my hubby to see Avatar. Brought my blanket and the seats were so comfy. We didn't purchase advance tickets and ended up being offered handicap seating, which seemed no different for me. We were seated on the 3rd row, but to my surprise it wasn't as close as it looked on the seating map. Because it's a dine-in theater, there is ample room in between the rows for waiters to walk. So you don't feel to close to other movie watchers or the screen itself. I still recommend sitting a little further back if you can though. We ordered a pizza to share not realizing 10" is basically slightly larger than personal size in my opinion. So we ended up eating after the movie also. Partly because it was over 3 hours long too lol. Thin crust is the only crust option. If you're not a fan, skip pizza. Not sure what else is good ‍ Our tickets cost a little under $20 with military discount, and our pizza and drinks were another $20. We'll be back. Maybe for Creed! Counting down for that one. We both enjoyed the comfort and luxury, and it didn't cost too much more than a regular cinema. Why not? Enjoy! read more

I am very disappointed in the recent menu changes at Alamo. My three favorite items have vanished with no explanation and no viable replacements: #1 Philly Cheesesteak sandwich (always terrific), #2 Green Chile cheeseburger (delicious) and #3 Brown sugar lemonade (the best drink on the menu) Why take these items off the menu? Favorite cinema in El Paso. The food is always so delicious. I always get a pizza at a minimum. Pricing isn't too bad either. The staff is generally quick to come when you put on the light to make an order. Drinks are usually a bit slower to receive but don't ruin the experience. Always quiet and the reclining chairs make it super comfortable. read more

Visited from SoCal - came here with my sister to watch IF. Overall neat, clean and comfy experience. Im not sure if it was intended, but I enjoyed how there were selections of related clips from various films / productions prior to the movie we were about to watch (which was unique & thoughtful - I felt anticipated for the movie!). It was worthwhile that we got there early. We ordered some snacks during the movie - popcorn, cheese sticks, nachos, and some drinks which were good & reasonably priced given that we are in inflation. Also, special shoutout to Jordan who went over and beyond to find my wallet - seriously saved me from headaches & missing my flight. Hope to comeback again when I visit El Paso :-) read more

Always have loved this chain of movie theaters. I like how they have such cool, themed art adorning the halls as you walk to your theater. The entrance and lobby are perfectly lit, neatly decorated, and welcoming. There's a bar where you can lounge and hang with friends. The staff is always helpful and friendly. They always have the hottest NEW movies, and really cool old school throwback movies as well. I never miss a chance to see whatever the new Marvel film is, and when I go see it, I go to Alamo. The seating is so comfortable, especially the electronic recliners. The menu is decent. Now then, it ain't special occasion food, but a decent menu nonetheless. Great snacks and entrees, full bar menu available right there on your seat. You can discreetly order food and drink all through the movie without ever leaving your seat. That's a huge selling point for me. Sound equipment and picture quality is all state of the art. Even a nice app you can use to buy tickets, pre order stuff, and earn points towards rewards. Don't be afraid of row one, it's is actually the best seat in the house. It seems like whoever decided on the distance between the screen and row one actually used common sense and knows how people like to see a movie screen. The food... I wasn't a huge fan of the pizza, But the chicken tenders are ridiculously massive and delicious. The ciders were out of this world , especially the pineapple. I am here for the second time just for the Mexican vanilla shake and loaded fries. When you have these fries, no other loaded fries will compare. This is the best cinema I've ever gone to hands down. Awesome food oh my god their cauliflower wings are amazing and the cookie shake is top tier! I prefer this Alamo Drafthouse over the one on the westside. The service and food was much better at this location. I recently brought my son and grandmother to watch "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings." It was the second time I watched it but I didn't mind. Besides...you always catch something new in a movie if you watch it a second time! It's a good movie btw! If you're into action/super hero type movies, I recommend it. Anyway... This theater has a unique and colorful look to it. It has a lucha libre (Mexican wrestling) theme throughout. You'll see lots of movie posters from old Mexican movies, lucha libre masks, etc. My grandma said she remembered watching some of the movies back in the 40s or 50s. It's a little over the top but I think it's interesting and fun. We saw the movie in the big show theater. It was a great experience! There was reclining leather seats. There's also a button to call a waitress if you'd like to order something to eat. They bring it to your seat. We had Jocelyn for a waitress. She was great! She came and checked on us to see how we were doing at least twice. The restrooms were super clean. My son and I really liked the comic book wallpaper in the men's and women's restrooms. Before the movie finished, I placed an order to go for my bf. Jocelyn had the order ready for me before the movie ended. He said the food tasted really good. He ordered a pepperoni pizza and pretzel. I had the cauliflower wings with fries. It was all tasty! It tasted fresh and made to order. I shared some popcorn and a pretzel with my son. This also tasted great. I drank ice water with a lemon wedge. My son got a cookie shake and enjoyed it. I had one sip and it was really good...not too sweet. I would definitely come back to this Alamo Drafthouse. We enjoyed the entire experience of it. It's a bit of a drive from the westside but I'm often in the eastside anyway. Oh and they offer movie parties for $150. You'd have one movie theater room for you and your guests. I'd consider having my son's birthday party here. They also offer UFC fights and most likely boxing matches here. Wonderful and clean theater with amazing customer service. There is a full bar and seats to sit down in when you first come in. First Visit: Wings-Delicious, but were a bit cold but didn't mind. Came with celery sticks and ranch included. Loaded fries: Loved these!! But for $11.50? Very overpriced. Drinks: Ordered a Sezarac. The glass is rinsed with absinthe, which was illegal in the U.S a few years ago. The bartender told me it was the first time anyone ever ordered it! Even with the bitters, it taste like rubbing alcohol, don't recommend that one. But at least I can cross ansinthe off my bucket list. Mambo Margarita- It came frozen and really good on a nice hot day. Second Visit: Chicken tenders-probably one of the best chicken tenders I have ever had! The dipping sauce it came with was very tasty! Bloody Mary: It looked so pretty but unfortunately one of the worst blood Mary I have had. Tasted like vinegar and tomato juice. Dark & Stormy: Gosling Rum with ginger beer. I got this because I thought this was Ryan Gosling's brand of rum. Is it? I don't know, but if you don't like the flavor of ginger beer and dark rum, you may want to pass on this. Awesome place, took a star off for the drinks. First time at any of the Drathouse theaters. It was pretty awesome. This was the first night this location was open and was a training day for the staff. Honestly they did a pretty stellar job. Explained the order process, took our orders down, everything was out in a pretty decent time. When taking orders to customers they did a good job of staying low, as to not disturb you watching the movie. Seats were comfortable. They were trained good from my perspective. The fried pickles are delicious, they are fried spears. If you get popcorn, I highly recommend getting the truffle popcorn. Damn good. It was good to enjoy the theater experience again. read more

I normally love this place, but we went yesterday and the service was HORRIBLE We put our order in as soon as we walked in the door and our popcorn came about 40 minutes later and it was just half the order. Waited for a Dr Pepper for probably 20 more minutes and then waited for another drink for another 40 minutes Service would've been better if we would've just got up and got it ourselves popcorn was cold we also paid for stuff that was on our bill that wasn't ours but didn't find out until we got home and looked at the bill such a disappointment from the first few times we've been there. read more

Came to Alamo Draft House today for the first time to see "Free Guy" at 12:10pm. The entire building inside and out is beautiful along with VERY spacious seating inside the theater room. The staff from the ticket sales and bartender in the front were very hospitable and quick on getting our tickets and drinks prior to the movie starting. Once the movie started, we placed orders for an app and some small entrees which we received very fast and fresh. Our primary waitress Luisa was excellent and very kind and courteous while regularly checking in on us. She along with her peers deserve a 5-star rating all across! read more

I came here on a Friday with my brother to see fantastic beast and it was a great experience! Not to crowded either (12:00 noon). The place is decorated super cool and unique! Also very clean. The staff was very friendly too. It was a little dark when trying to read the menu but it wasn't a huge problem. The wait staff was very friendly food came out super quick and hot. When we requested refills the server was quick. I love that you write everything down so there isn't going to be any issues or talking over the movie. The chairs very comfortable too. As someone who uses a purse I appreciated the hook on the table portion to hang the bag. I'm going to look into signing up for the movie club it looks like a awesome way to save $$ read more

Definitely recommend to see a movie here- having a salad not so much. Yeah I know, should have ordered a burger. If you like movie popcorn, then you must know that they do not automatically butter it- you have to ask. Totally weird. Back to the salad that was supposed to come with fried chicken. I swear it seemed that it just had like one cut up chicken strip on there ($5 bucks extra) and the romaine lettuce was so dry I thought they might have forgotten the caesar dressing. They had given me grilled chicken in error at first. So I asked for more dressing and was charged for it. Dressing is very, very garlicky. The popcorn was disappointing due to the missing butter. Was our first time there didn't know what to expect. Our bar experience was amazing, our food experience in the theater that was a bit different, it was busy, they missed my husbands dinner completely and missed the dressing on my salad, and we came home feeling hungry the salad wasn't bad, was not as good as with dressing. They had it brought almost by time I had finished it. We had a great time. We will definitely go again, but will try to go for just the movie and it also seemed a bit chaotic having people crossing back and forth to get dinner served. Great concept, execution plan was very different. The ambiance is on point! We loved it nonetheless great date night. Very convenient place to enjoy our favorite movies. Service is always excellent. The food is pretty decent for a movie theater but I would love to see more special main courses that match the movies that are playing at the theater. The theater is always clean and kept up. I know it's pricey and I always end up spending at least $80 for the three of us but its almost always a great experience. One thing I recommend is to be consistent with the truffle butter popcorn, it needs to taste like that delicious truffle seasoning every bite! You can tell that's my favorite. read more
