8/5 I absolutely adore AMC Glen Cove 6. I've visited several times, and I never mind the drive or the time it takes to get there. Located at 5 School Street in Glen Cove, NY, the theater is situated where it offers many attractions. 1. a nearby garage with free parking, which makes it an easy choice, to access the parking garage drive one street past School Street and turn right behind the theater, 2. fine‑dining 3. shopping, and there's even a Starbucks on site for added convenience. Customer service is fantastic, the staff knows their product, they work as a cohesive team, and the facility is spotless. they offer snacks, food, drinks, popcorn, and coffee. How cool is that. They also offer signature recliners, spacious theatres with ample leg room between rows, handicap seating, stubs member Wi-Fi, assisted listening devices, audio description, closed caption, digital projection, very loud theatre audio system, and so, so, so much more. I like that AMC offers memberships which allows generous discounts on regular movies, matinees, Tuesday & Wednesday discounts, along with students and senior discounts. You can even purchase a membership that allows you to see 4 movies a week. OMGoodness! Today I went to see The Odyssey (inspired by Victor V, I paid a whopping $7.99 plus $10 on popcorn. I just discovered that I had $30 in savings so I would have went to see a movie and ate free, I used the app to pay for tickets, with a waived convenience fee. We went to the theater to watch the new Super Mario Galaxy movie, and it was amazing! The sound quality was perfect. The theater was very clean at the start of the film; of course, by the end, there was a lot of popcorn on the floor, but that's due to the audience, not the staff. The ticket prices were reasonable, and we decided to watch a regular screening rather than the 3D version. The service was great, and the friendly cashier took our order correctly. Popcorn was good. I went to the AMC movie theater during the day, around 3pm, and to my surprise, I was the only person in the theater. The place was very quiet and empty, which actually made the experience pretty calming. Having the whole theater to myself felt almost private, and I didn't mind it at all--it made the movie feel more personal and relaxing. The theater itself was also very clean, which added to the comfort of the visit. I watched Light of the World, and I really enjoyed the film from start to finish. The recliner seats made it even better, giving me the chance to sit back and get completely immersed in the movie without any distractions. Between the spotless environment, the comfortable seating, and the peaceful setting, the experience at this AMC was one of the most enjoyable movie outings I've had in a while. read more

My favorite theater when watching a movie out in LI... cozy with only 6 theaters, reclining plush seats! Theater seating so leveled and spacious. Staff here is very friendly to welcome the guests as they arrive and scan their tickets to purchase food. There are wipes to clean the seats. No need to worry about huge crowds at all. I've been here many times and watched movies in each of the 6 theaters. Wow, they recently added MacGuffins Bar for those 21+ (must show id) to purchase alcoholic - beer and wine for the movies . Concessions - plenty of options for snacks and food for purchase for the movies. They also have the promo items for purchase for the latest movies as well - popcorn buckets for Aquaman, Star from Wish, etc. Parking is free in the downtown lot next door and if you come out the right exit on the 2nd floor, it will take you to the theater. Exit Only (this is not an entrance) is by the restrooms and takes you straight to the parking lot. Order tickets in advance through the AMC app. It definitely helps to be an AMC member - whether AMC Stubs, Premier or A*List. Restrooms are clean and well maintained. read more

Really nice AMC. Got tickets to watch a Marvel movie. Seats were comfortable and easy to find. There's a free parking lot near it. No need to worry about running out of time on your car during the movie. Nice option to get curly fries for the movie. The two people working the food stand were super friendly. The bathroom was big and clean. My only complaint about this AMC was that during the movie it was very warm even though a lot of other people were there too. This was a cozy theater and cute neighborhood. Streets were limited in parking spaces, and only limited to 2 hours? Wasn't sure where the parking lot was, we didn't come from that direction. Besides that, it's a seemingly small theater, we were in theater 1 which was right next to the bathroom so that was convenient for such a long movie. The concession stand moved quickly and even though we came right on time for the trailers, we got our popcorn and drink in a couple of minutes and we're seated really quickly. After deciding not to return to the other Nassau county AMC theaters, I decided to give Glen Cove a chance. I love this neighborhood and while it is a 25 minute drive from home, it's worth it. The drive here is extremely scenic, the parking is convenient and the theater is extremely clean and comfortable. We visited today for the $6.49 matinee to see Dora and The Lost City of Gold. We arrived after 11:00 and scored parking on the multilevel free lot that connects to the AMC theater on Forest Ave. You can't miss all the big signs that say FREE PUBLIC PARKING. We parked close to the door and the staff was kind and scanned our online tickets right away. The theater was clean and comfortable. The air was the perfect temperature and it was not overcrowded like Garden City and Levittown. I can't wait to return for another matinee. read more

Pleasantly surprised with how nice this movie theater is. They have large seats that recline all the way back. The theater is small. I wouldn't wait to purchase you tickets when you get there. Buy in advance online. The surrounding area has developed quite nicely. Plenty of bars, restaurants nearby. Parking was easy because we arrived after 7 PM so we didn't have to pay the parking meter. Years ago, I probably would have given this theater 3 stars and that would be generous. I used to go to this theater as a kid and there was once popcorn all over the floor and stained folding chairs. My parents always took us there because it was cheap and convenient. Now? Totally upgraded with giant electronic recliners and super clean carpet!! And the best part is...it's still a great deal!!! First show matinee ticket prices are $6.49 (excludes 3D) and on Tuesdays, matinees runs until 6pm. Excellent deal! Parking is easy in the attached garage. Staff was super friendly. So my son, and his friends went to watch the new Deadpool and Wolverine movie... and the ticket man named Carlos was super rude and wasn't accepting their tickets and never let them in. He had a horrible attitude and was quite sassy. They said they couldn't refund the original cards. Then a man named Adam came over and gave us gift cards and said there were no other movies for them to watch. This AMC location is flat out disgraceful. I have been coming to this theater for years, The area has definitely changed. I brought my husband here for the first time. It's not to big but just right and always play the shows that we want to see. Its clean I never had any food from there so sorry I can't comment on that. My only complaint and the main reason why I have to take a star away is because of the parking. Maybe I missed it but I have yet to find a parking lot accommodating for people who are patronizing this movie theater. I always go crazy looking for street parking. read more

Tip: For all of you mentioning outside parking times. Do yourself a favor, head into the theater on Forest Ave. Right next to the AMC sign is multi level parking lot; free, dry and connects to the theater. A great local theater with Real 3d, nice size screens and excellent sound. Recently started seeing movies here, seats are leather power recliners which are very nice. Not quite as large as Showcase Cinemas in Hicksville but still comfortable and for a quick in-town matinee or dinner date, AMC GC is great! Conversations I've had with staff are always pleasant, Popcorn is above average, you get one free popcorn refill for AMC reward members. Free self serve drink refills and slurpees are just a nice touch. If you use your app to reserve seats, there is a non-refundable $3.50 convenience charge. Worth it if you want to choose your own seats for a newer movie. Also some movies after being out awhile, matinees drop to $6.49 per ticket. An early Saturday movie and lunch in town is a nice start to a weekend. read more

Today I visited this theater for the first time to see Jumanji. The staff were really friendly. The theater was clean and seats were in great condition. The seats are not as wide as other theaters but I was still comfortable. There were a few loud kids talking and using their phones during the movie. When I told the staff the gentleman came immediately to observe and then let the kids know they are disturbing the customers and had to stop. No more problems after that. The location is nice too. Pizza shops, coffee shops and some other restaurants. Nice vibe. I was able to get parking right away on the street. I will definitely go back and take the 35 min ride from my house.. read more

Clean theater with leather reclining seats. Once you've tried reclining seats, it's hard to go back to the narrow hard thinly padded seats in a lot of older theaters. I've always found parking out in front along the streets and they typically offer free parking for a certain amount of time. I docked it one star really not for the shortcomings of the theater but for some odd reason if you use MoviePass, it always has a hard time checking in to this theater and when you're able to, it always gives errors numerous times before working. read more

I've been going to glen cove theaters since I was a kid. It has gone through multiple closures and ownerships. Glad to see AMC has stepped in to clean it up again. Hopefully it hangs around more than a year. It's nice having a theater closer to home. However, the seats were pretty uncomfortable (too narrow and not meant for tall people). Went with my 2 friends (all over 21) to see a r rated movie after purchasing tickets online. When we arrived we scanned our tickets and went to buy popcorn. We never were told what theater to go into for our movie so we asked and the people working (all men) seemed confused and annoyed by the question..weird. We then got into the theater and were sitting there for over 30 mins watching the coming attractions. We were the only people in the theater. A male worker came into the theater and was just staring at us for a couple mins. We didn't think much of it until he walked up to us and accused us of not being over 21. When we said we were he asked for the IDs and we showed him but he was weird. We felt uneasy and we're debating leaving since we were the only ones in theater. We just had a weird feeling. We walked out of the theater to stand in the lobby where they were talking about us. The whole thing felt just weird and like something was going to happen. Then again a male worker came up to us asking if we were over 18 this time and he said "just say you are". That was enough and we left. Do not recommend at all especially for women. I have to admit I was a little sad at first when I heard AMC was taking over this theater. I wasn't looking forward to the expensive tickets and smaller theaters because of the reclining chairs. However, I love love love how AMC remodeled this theater! It is always very clean and organized and the seats are very comfortable. I go to the movies very often and always had a pleasant experience since they opened. I suggest going to La famiglia, thaiana or the American cafe for dinner before or after! The staff is very friendly and accommodating! Even though they are mainly high school/college kids, they are very patient with people when they are confused with the technology or their tickets aren't loading. What I love about this theater are the red, yes, red recliners. Also there is free parking in the adjoining garage. You can reserve seats ahead of time which is so convenient. They always have the latest movies playing. They have the usual snacks at a premium price. But if they served good hot coffee I would give it 5 ! read more

I love the revamp of this theater. Everything is new and clean. The bathrooms work! Wow! that is a treat because for many years, the ladies room was flooded and nothing worked and no one cared. $5 Tuesdays are great. Truly disappointed. Tried to take my younger sisters to the movies today and was told that I could not bring them because I am 20 years old not 21 years. You mean to tell me that I am of legal age to drive and to work but I can't bring my 15 and 16 year old sisters out to watch a movie. Absolutely bananas. And to make matters worse, I even asked my mother to come and verify that they can watch the movie because we had already spent money on tickets. But they were very insistent that even with parental consent they wouldn't be able to see it, which is absolutely crazy. They need to stop focusing on PARENTING and CENSORING OTHER PEOPLE'S KIDS because at the end of the day my sisters are gonna go see the damn movie anyways and all that means for them is that they're losing money. I expect to pay a fortune for popcorn but I don't expect it to be stale. Granted, after my boyfriend complained for me, they made us a new batch and delivered it so that was nice. Theater was ice cold, thank God I brought a sweatshirt but my feet were frozen. in the short time i have spent in glen cove and it's only movie theater which has opened and closed more then a few time i am glad that the amc chain has taken over ownership and transformed it into a first class theater . you got a starbucks next door as well as a pizza shop so you can buy your tickets at the box office and if time permits get a slice or latte .the theater has 6 screening rooms each with comfy recliner chairs with ample leg room , good screen and sound quality gets high marks as well. the concession stand is the usual overpriced movie theater standard but it's part of the movie theater tradition we all enjoy somewhat . the carpets are brand new as well as the interior and bathrooms are clean enough for its purpose . new chain theater has taken over showing the newest first rate movies in glen cove so what's not to like , just hope they stick around especially with the before 6pm matinee deal with tickets less then 7 bucks each . p.s. it's better to reserve and purchase your tickets in advance cause most flicks sell out during the weekends and for new hot releases . read more
