Be careful when selecting your seats at this theater. We went to see Odyssey in Theater 4 (a smaller theater I think there tucked away in the far left corner) on a Thursday night in mid-August. The seat selector display doesn't delineate between those seats that are flat on the floor and those that are "stadium" seating. In the attached photo, I drew a yellow line--all those seats above the yellow line are flat on the floor which stinks, essentially leaving only two rows of stadium seats. We had picked Row C because nothing else was left, and once I got there and realized they were flat, I went to the desk to see if I could change to the handicapped row with companion seats which was still completely empty--she was very helpful and willing to let me switch since the movie was about to start, and no one was in them. Recliner seats were comfortable, but our two were on their last legs feeling like the recliner was going to break when raising. Also, they do not put butter on your popcorn even if you ask, so you cannot ask for it layered. There are two do-it-yourself butter machines which trickle out intermittently--Imagine that's a lot of fun when there's a crowd of rushing patrons (not!); my husband had to leave halfway through to get more butter. I suppose some PREFER doing it themselves, but it just seemed kind of crazy to me when many are rushing to get in to the theater before the movie starts. Theater was clean. I've seen quite a few movies here. The process is very easy which I like a lot. I just buy the tickets online and they just scan your phone and you're good to go. I've seen movies in the regular theaters as well as the Dolby. The seats in the regular theaters are fine, I've definitely sat in worse. The Dolby is really where it's at. It's hard to go from the Dolby experience and then back to regular chairs and screen. But, the place is pretty clean and the staff are nice. read more

My husband and I were on a weekend getaway. The weather was bad so all of our outdoor plans were cancelled. I found a groupon for this theater. Everyone had the same idea it was very busy. We had an issue with the Groupon The employees were great they worked together to find the right person to figure out the problem and fix it. let me tell you. this is the worst theater I've been to in a long time. we went to see the Odyssey for 930 and spent so much money on concessions. so we go to the first theater (#9) then we're told they changed it to #11. it was PACKED. so we went back (at this point it's about 10pm) they changed the theater to #10 for 1030. needless to say it wasn't the right theater yet again. a whole bunch of movie goers were told the wrong theater and the Manager S I wish I got her name but she not only was nasty but wasn't helpful. wasted 2 hours. My first visit here. We went to see Moana 2 at a matinee movie. There were only 4 of us at our screening. The theater, restrooms and lobby were all very clean. We throughly enjoyed the movie and the quiet movie going experience. There was a huge parking lot. read more

Don't understand the plethora of mediocre (and worse) reviews of this theater; I thoroughly enjoyed it! The staff was friendly and helpful. The interior of the building was modern, bright and clean. We saw "Wicked" which was a good test for the technical capabilities of the theater. The screen was plenty big enough (as opposed to some tiny screens we've seen at other theaters), The resolution of the film was crisp, and the colors were natural. Well, as natural as a green person anyway! The sound was also well done; it really gave us the immersive feeling of being in the movie. All in all, the presentation really gave us the Big Movie Experience. As for ancillaries: parking was plentiful. The seats were comfy and well maintained. And perhaps most importantly, the preparation of the popcorn was spot on. Get off your couch, and go see a movie! read more

Customers here for over 20 years. Theater now owned by AMC which keeps the property inside and outside clean and safe. Prices have risen but are still affordable. Where else can you go for a couple hours for $12 per person (matinee and senior discount)? Only negative: find the huge lounge chairs less comfortable than the smaller, older chairs. read more

this is my go to theater so this review is for today Tuesday Feb 9, 26. its very specific.If you are a big fan of Jason Stratham (as I am ) and you go see this film at THIS theater (right now it's in #14) be aware that you WILL BARELY BE ABLE TO HEAR THE DIALOGUE. I have no idea if the Film was sent that way(I highly doubt it) but this needs to be fixed immediately. Please know that IF I didn't have a cane and IF I wouldn't have had to leave the movie, find the manager and miss a huge chunk I would have left and tried to get it fixed.. but no one should have to do that. You will get the gist of the film.. you will be able to hear SOME dialogue , I would say 5%!!!! it will be 100% better when it it streaming and you can actually hear the MOST important and pertinent dialogue that actually drives the movie forward.. what a freaking disappointment to come out in the very cold for that experience . And yes when it was done I did tell them very clearly about the sound.. whether anything will be done is another matter. read more

My fave movie theater! Mozzarella sticks are really delicious! The nachos w/ cheese are way salty! Popcorn is good! Sometimes they are short-staffed. Theater is newly renovated w/ new leather seats that recline. If you watch a movie in Dolby cinema the screen is gigantic & they have heated seats. I came today to a horror screen unseen. You only pay $5 or it's free w/ the membership( which I have). It's a movie you see before it comes out in the theaters. They have different genres but always go to the horror ones. read more

I enjoyed this updated version of this theater. I must say this time around it was very clean and free of trash in the isles . The seat had spacious room and reclining was comfortable . It also had a side button for heating and cooling of the recliner which was a nice touch. This was my first time going into this room for a movie . Excellent all the way around. Seating is very comfortable and spacious, audio is fantastic and you aren't bothered by any audio bleeding through from the other theaters. Feels upscale, highly recommend. I never buy food at theaters so I can't comment on that. Edit: I see a lot of negative reviews, so in response to some of those - It's definitely got chain theater vibes, so it's understandable why people miss their old Bow Tie theater. It looks to me like they've done a lot of renovations that the Bow Tie probably needed desperately. The bathrooms were updated and everything inside the building looked fresh. Snack lines... that's what you sign up for when you pay for theater snacks. There are one or two highschool aged employees trying to fill orders for 10 impatient customers at once. Don't bother complaining about snack prices, I don't understand how the exorbitant snack prices are still a surprise to anyone. Bring a purse or diaper bag and put snacks in there, when's the last time anyone actually stopped you from bringing your own snacks? This is an AMC in Trumbull, not some secret private cinema in an underground hall of the Ritz Carlton reserved only for your personal viewing pleasure. This place is better than the 1 star reviews might suggest. I came here yesterday for the 2pm showing of Across the Spiderverse, and it was awesome. The seats are super comfortable and you can adjust your angle to get a better viewing experience. The popcorn was also a lot better than I expected. Everyone complains about how much AMC popcorn sucks, but the popcorn during that showing was incredibly good. I do have to dock a star for the lobby though. A lot of the old Bow Tie signs are still intact and could have been replaced with AMC stuff by now, and the fact that theaters 1-6 (the theaters that play most of the movies) are tucked behind the concession stand instead of in front of it like most other theaters is pretty annoying. read more

The combination of gimmicky sales tactics and lack of heating or AC when needed brings this theater from a 4 star rating to a 2 star rating. We went through some sort of fast lane premier line when there was literally no one in line for snacks. As we are paying for the overpriced snacks the employee started pointing out that we went through the pay-gated line and insinuated we had cut the line which we didn't. Then we proceeded to go sit in a theater that was freezing cold for over 2 hours. If this was the first time this climate-control and attitude issues happened here I wouldn't be posting this review. However, in my experience, it's a 50/50 gamble whether you will deal with the issues I just mentioned when enjoying a movie here. read more

Beware! There are NO security cameras within the theaters at the AMC Marquis 16. Unfortunately, I didn't find this out until my wallet was stolen from the theater and employees seemed not to care at all, and without cameras inside the theater there was nothing police could do either. Other than that, be prepared for poorly trained staff, filthy seats, trays, and cup holders inside theaters, and long lines at concession. Our screening of the Super Mario Bros movie was projected at 1/3 the size of the screen (picture a small rectangle in the middle of an otherwise black movie screen). I spoke with an employee who was very nice, but couldn't do anything because no manager was there and they don't staff a projectionist any more. Went to see Asteroid City and the curtains in front of the screen couldn't open all the way, cutting off pieces on both sides of the frame. The uncleaned bathroom had 8 stalls but only 2 had toilet paper. The sinks had 1 filled soap dispenser. Trash theater. AMC is a mediocre chain but this was something special. read more

Movie was at a deafening volume. Multiple people left and others complained (including myself) - which was hard to do because there is no manager or supervisor. Only concessions staff and cleaning. I rarely write reviews (I think this is my 2nd ever?) but saw so many negative ones that I had to step in and say something positive. I go every wk to support my local theater bc once it's gone, we won't have another one as theaters are going by the wayside as more and more people stream movies from home now... With that said, here's some tips to all the previous reviewers out there so that hopefully they reconsider their stance: * If the popcorn sucks, then bring your own. * They have less staff bc they have less customers now, so take this into consideration when you're waiting in line. * Movies can be expensive, go to a Matinee or on Tuesdays when it's only $5. * While I've never encountered the ripped up seats and broken cup holders, I'm sure they exist as people for whatever reason like to get their vandalism on. It happens everywhere. Let the Manager know your seat number so they can put in a request to fix it. Yes, I liked Bow Tie better - they had a better menu and the bar - but we have AMC now and need to do what we can to keep it in Trumbull. read more

It's been sometime since I went to see a movie with my kids. Covid made that prohibitive. We decided to go see the new Doctor Strange movie today. Tickets were expensive online, but we decided to buy them that way to make sure to get seats. $37.17 for 3D seats and a ridiculous $5.97 convenience fee (The convenience of not using paper and reserving our seats with no help from staff?) brought the total to $43.14. The boys wanted popcorn and, while I am loathe to pay theater prices, I promised them snacks. They came back with two mediums at nine dollars a pop. That's another $18. My oldest decided he wanted a Slurpee and so he put in another seven dollars of his own money (thanks, Dad!) Now we are at $68.14 for movie and snacks, including my son's choice. We got to theater number three to watch the movie and, while comfortable, it was a pretty small screen. Now I'm feeling a little disappointed. There was a decent amount of noise in the theater and nobody minding the store. This made it less than fun for us. All in all, I am thoroughly unimpressed. Spending that much money on a show should at least guarantee a somewhat decent experience. I am now fully reminded of why I have begun watching movies at home and enjoying it far more than any theater outing. I will probably just return to that. read more

I have been to the previous theater that was in this location all the time because it was amazing. All I can say for AMC is it is still a fairly new place so be open minded. It has gotten better than worse. I like to support my local entertainment centers because you never know when they will disappear. Here's some things you should know. I gave it 4 stars because I wasn't a fan of the butter it's more oil. BUT..... The people are friendly and you should try their subscription system it helps with prices and line waiting times. Completely disappointed with AMC Marquis 16, Trumbull CT. Professionals at the order counter totally unprepared and acting as if they were being forced to work. I ordered Chicken Tenders and a Coke, this cost me almost $18, for 4 pieces of chicken (extremely salty) and a soda. The chicken took almost 20 minutes to cook (it was not busy) and I almost missed the beginning of the movie. You guys need to improve those screens, A-list members at least deserve rooms with bigger screens. Room 3 very small screen. People around talking all the time, loud laughter, people running on the stairs, not worth the effort. Even if you pay more for benefits that should exist and do not exist there. I took my kids to see Jurassic Park. There was a ridiculous amount of previews, 30 minutes total. The volume was so loud the kids were covering their ears. I told them it should be lower for the picture, but wasn't, and it was so painfully loud that they wanted to leave 10 minutes into the movie so we left. The manager at this theater is despicable! She came to the counter with an attitude when I requested to change my tickets for another show (The Woman King). I was told it would be a $4 increase because it was BTX. When it was time to pay she charged me an addition $16 per ticket (2 tickets total)! In other words, $32 plus the $20 I had already paid for the previous show‼ When I asked her how she arrived to that total she said I'm also being charged because the show starts at 4pm and maitinee prices are over. I explained it still does not make sense to arrive to $32 and not be refunded for my $20. She rolled her eyes and then went on to say the price is due to inflation. I boldly exclaimed that she clearly does not know how to calculate simple equations and rather than admitting her error and taking responsibility as a manger, she would rather hustle customers out of their hard earned money. I then went on to tell her to immediately cancel the movie and demanded a refund. She said she can not refund the movie back to my card and instead gave me a gift card for the show because she already started the process of movie exchange without communicating beforehand the process. No apology, poor customer service. Absolutely ridiculous! I am contacting her boss to notify them of the situation and have her performance reviewed. I'm 21 and I've been going to Bow-Tie or what is now known as AMC ( ass mediocre crap) for as long as I can remember. I went today with my girlfriend in hopes of introducing her to my reminiscent classic home theater I'd gone to since I was a boy. When I used to go with my family or friends it used to be a memorable experience where I could come back and feel ecstatic overwhelmed with a local theater that had always done right and had those awesome original salted pretzels that were worth the extra cost. Now ? The place is run down. Men's bathroom doesn't even have the letter " M", the seats had rips and moldy substances on them as well cup holders being in a trashed state with the plastic coat ripped up, the management is filled with young childish unprofessional workers which only adds onto the extended wait time for concession. Not to mention the prices are no different than if you were to have a massive family outing for family price but for only two people. I'll never return and it's heartbreaking to see the state of what used to to be an amazing place. It's like a zombie town. read more
