Popcorn amazing as always- add your own butter. Chicken tenders were ok. Pretzel bites looked good! Good food options for the movies. Can do pick up orders or pre orders. I know it's a chain, but I love this theater because I know exactly what I am getting. We go to see movies in IMAX and Dolby Cinema, and they have the comfortable recliner chairs that make sitting for 3 hours so much better. They also allow you to order food an drink for pick up, so you don't have to wait in the concession line if you are running late. You can buy specific seats online, and scan your tickets on the way in. There is always ample parking because it's part of the mall complex, so finding a spot isn't a worry. My biggest gripe is that the bathrooms often feel neglected, but I still pick this theater for my movie-going. read more

I have very mixed feelings about this particular location. I had a really bad experience here years ago that still gives me anxiety surrounding this location. Now I only go here for screenings. This location looks nice for the most part compared to Southdale & EP. The actual theaters could use upgrades, seating wise. I recently ran in because they had a Sinners Popcorn tin I wanted. While the concession line was busy, they only had 1 person working it on an early Sunday afternoon. Parking is rough. read more

Relatively clean, not overly hot or cold like some theaters, and staff moved the line for concessions pretty quickly. My only complaint is the lack of benches in the hallway between the screens. Went to the Rosedale Theater to see Christopher Nolan's new The Odyssey. First of all, this is a three-hour movie, and then they decided to put 30 minutes of previews in front of it. The theater was packed, and it was close to 90° outside, so either the air conditioning couldn't keep up or it simply wasn't set to a reasonable temperature. Either way, for the last hour and a half of the movie, it was nearly unwatchable because my son and I were literally sweating in our seats. We paid $25 per ticket because we wanted to experience it in IMAX. The seats looked new, but they were non-reclining and had less room than my kitchen chairs. For that kind of money, I expected a much more comfortable experience. To make matters worse, the customer service at both the ticket counter and the concession stand was about as indifferent as it gets--no greeting, no smile, and no sense that they cared whether customers had a good experience. Then, while we were in the theater, there was a kid taking tickets wearing what looked like a shower cap, which just added to the odd, unprofessional atmosphere. Then there were the concessions. $25 for one popcorn and two large sodas and peanut m&m. At some point it just becomes ridiculous. I used to genuinely enjoy going to the movies especially with my Son and Marvel movies...and The Odyssey itself was excellent. Christopher Nolan absolutely delivered. But between the outrageous prices, the uncomfortable seating, and the unbearable heat, the overall experience was a total disappointment. I honestly wouldn't recommend seeing it here--especially during the summer--unless you want to sweat through half the movie. Wait until the weather cools off, or better yet, wait for it to come out on demand and put that money toward a bigger TV. It was a total joke read more

While the staff here at AMC was friendly, the movie-watching experience was just awful. Most patrons seem to be high school students, and you can 100% expect these individuals having an outright conversation all throughout the movie - yes, literally throughout the whole entire movie. There is no staff on site to check in on the theatres to boot people out, nor was there any management on site. The theater itself is a bit outdated, and there could have been a better job in cleaning up before the screening. Located at the Rosedale Center, getting dropped and picked up was not an issue, if you're visiting from out of town. I used to have the premier membership but let it lapse; i mght have to upgrade again, I feel all bougie then lol Anyway, the family and I decided to see the 6:40pm show. The ticket person was not very friendly but it is what it is. Stopped by concessions and almost got roped into the family deal but after calculating it was NOT a deal; don't fall for it. First of all, parking is great, a lot of availability with public transportation right next to it for people who chooses the public transportation. The people are very friendly from the ticket counter to the concessions. In the theater the seats are old however they were clean. read more

Great central location, huge parking lot next to the mall and for the most part, an updated theater. Many people will knock this place because they don't have reclining seats. However, stadium seating still exists along with all the amenities such as icees, fried food, popcorn, generic confessions, etc. I always treasure a trip to the theater especially if it's a highly anticipated show. read more

Went to the movies while visiting a friend in Minnesota and we made sure to find a theatre with a Dolby Cinema offering. I was surprised with the large parking lot and option for public transportation for folks to access. The theatre was clean and popcorn was warm. Staff was kind and friendly, very great Midwestern hospitality while managing a lot of movie theatre switches where most of the ordering is done off the AMC app. read more

It's an ok theater. The seats don't recline. Sound is good but as far as the concessions go, the popcorn bucket leaked butter through the bottom and stained my jeans. The staff gave me a new bucket and refilled it, which my stomach was thankful but not my jeans. Probably a good lesson here, go easy on the butter. :D read more

Of the 4 big Twin Cities AMC left, this is the only one without recliners in a standard theater. Uncomfortable chairs. Bathrooms are always filthy. However, this has the best IMAX in the twin cities, which redeems it a bit. read more

Get to the theater and show our tickets and still no mention of it being 3d and nobody gave us glasses and they directed us to our theater. Then movie starts and it's blurry cause it's in 3d. Then when we left the movie to ask about it they only offered us a partial refund on a gift card instead of the amount we paid for them. read more

Really disappointed with my recent experience. Went to see the Barbie movie (highly recommend) during the "$5" discount day on Tuesday. After taxes and fees it is now $7.50 per ticket. You'll have to take out a loan to cover the cost of popcorn and soda. Of course they don't have small/normal sizes at a more reasonable price either. We were in theater six; which is not updated at all. Not only are the chairs narrow, but they are fabric (can you say unsanitary!). Plus there was zero air conditioning or air flow of any kind. So, this review relates to screenings. The manager seems to dislike the folks who come to this theater for screenings. We're not allowed to wait inside until 5:30 pm. We were waiting on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, and the young man working the front came out and told us that he was instructed to tell us to go wait outside. Even if it weren't frigid, it's an inappropriate ask. We didn't blame the young man for doing his job, but the cowardly manager who instructed him to come and give us this stupid request. A few years ago, we attended a screening here, which was a kids' movie. We were required to wait OUTSIDE in over 90 degree weather, with our children. I went in and asked to speak to a manager. I stated that it would look poorly on them if children started to become ill from waiting in the sweltering temps. Only then did they recognize that we should not be out there. It really shouldn't take such conversations for screeners to be seen as humans or customers. While we may not be purchasing movie tickets, most do stop by concessions. I was one of them. That is no longer the case. If the "management" can't appreciate us for showing up and adding to their income through food purchases, then I won't bother to do more than show up for the free movie. Many of us screeners have become a tight-knit group, so we talk about these things. We're hoping that more screenings go to AMC Southdale, where they're more appreciative of us. read more

This is one of my fav theaters in the Twin Cities. It's been awhile since I've been to this theatre but it doesn't disappoint. Some auditoriums don't have reclining seats. I could see AMC making that change in the near future due to this theatre being in a bubbling commercial/retail district. One thing AMC has to improve is the food, the food was horrible. Wasn't anyone's fault, AMC just offers generic food choices. Their screens and sound are top notch but the food has to equal that. There are a ton of eating options connected and around this location but I myself would like to dine and eat my heart out while enjoying a state of the art film. Staff were friendly and had great chemistry amongst each other. I'll return, I hope the food changes soon, sooner than the reclining chairs being in all auditoriums. I'd probably give 3.5 stars. It's alright, but personally I think cinemark is better; unfortunately, there are none anywhere close. This theater has a troublesome app that always has hidden charges (that's not this specific theater's fault but still) plus they have a very subpar candy selection. One of my favorite things about going to movies is getting candy so it's disappointing every time I come here and they don't have many options. What stinks is that this is the only theater that's close to us, so we still have to go. read more

I have been coming at least once or twice a week with my wife and daughter. My daughter loves the movies, but one person in particular makes the experience not so great. A certain employee there named madison, she seems to only check minorities identification to make sure it matches the name on the ticket. She never checks Caucasian individuals identification, that to me is truly racist and treat everyone the same. Also, my seat squeaks all the time and it feels like a freaking sauna every time I'm in one of the auditoriums!!!!!!! read more

I like coming to the Rosedale theater because it's next door to the mall where there's tons of places to shop and eat before seeing a feature. This theater is quite large and they always have the top movies playing when people want to see them! I can't speak about the staff because I usually buy tickets in advance to avoid the lines. And I don't buy concessions because they're literally stealing money out of your hands with those prices! So...I don't interact with the employees much. They seem okay...(shoulder shrug). The variety of options seems okay too, but it could use some revamping. Seats are average, nothing like those recliners at some other places. And the facility is clean for the most part. I can't tag em too much, there's only so many people to pick up millions of discarded corn kernels! If you're looking for an okay theater, come visit! But if you really wanna get fancy, go sit in a recliner, order a drink and truly enjoy yourself and your movie. Don't expect to completely relax here. read more

TERRIBLE MOVIE THEATER. The workers were extremely disrespectful. THE RULES WERE RIDICULOUS. Me and my 17 year old friends came in wanted to watch the inside out WHICH IS A KIDS MOVIE. And said we needed a 21 year old adult to accompanied us. So nicely I brought my mother AND THEY STILL REFUSED TO LET US IN FOR A KIDS MOVIE. Just your average movie theater here. Maybe it was just this particular location but their IMAX theater lacked comfortable seating.

I like this place for the convenience of going to a movie right after work. However, it isn't at the top of the list for my favorite movies places. I really like to go to the AMC in Inver Grove Heights. All of their theaters have assigned seats. Rosedale doesn't. That is fine, but as they are both AMC theaters, I just hope they are updated soon. I am apart of the A-Listers deal, so it is nice to be able to just choose between theaters in a moments notice. But like I said, this is an okay place, great to see movies, I just wish that the seats were assigned and even all were able to recline. read more

I have not been to a theater in a long time. I just wanted to enjoy a flick. I am leaving my house to watch a screen therefore I do not use a screen before I come to see the flick. I asked very politely for the movie sheet with the synopsis and movie times and the employee said she didn't know of anything like it. I need to know how long and the details of the films I view. I shall never return to a theater again and keep my money in my pockets. This experience has completely gone done hill and it is very said the customer service can't keep up with the technology. I don't like this theater any more. It seems more sloppy than it used to, and now that I've been spoiled with modern, comfortable cinema seating with footrests, it's harder to bring myself to come here and sit in their "coach class" seats. (One annoyance I'm catching is that, without footrests, people behind you will put their feet up on the backs of your row's seats. Shifting and kicking annoyingly. Grr!) The automated ticket kiosks here don't work (a message comes up in the middle of trying to buy tickets that basically says, "oh, you wanted to BUY tickets, well, you can't do that here"). A recent showing I went to had 25 minutes of trailers, partly because one of them was repeated. I like trailers, but come on. They have most of AMC's current food offerings, but not the fancy cheese and crackers they have at Southdale. It's expensive, but the variety is welcome. Presentation is always high quality here. Customer service is fine; the restrooms are often in disrepair or are ill-supplied. I never see any employees inside an auditorium. AMC is downright hostile to MoviePass customers. This theater won't let you use the Stubs membership WHICH YOU PAID FOR if you are using MoviePass. Even though it costs them nothing to sell you a ticket through MoviePass. They have a competing service of their own now, but they were doing this long before that existed because they are mean. When MoviePass eventually collapses, I won't switch to the AMC version because I REALLY don't want to be stuck just going to these theaters! Marcus and Emagine theaters provide much better experiences; I recommend moving on from AMC Rosedale. read more
