Comfortable seating, clean auditorium, popcorn semi cold, asked for a smart water that was in the refrigerator behind the counter and i ended up paying for a large fountain drink which costed more as he handed me a cup after I paid, then I corrected him back to the water bottle then I was given a gift card to refund me for his mistake and then he tried to give me the Dasani instead of smart water.. Haven't been to this theater in years, but I choose to see Wicked here because of the movie time was convenient with my schedule. The theater has been remodeled and it's definitely an improvement. There isn't a separate line for AMC Stubs Premiere members and everything is done on the kiosks to order your snacks. The only problem is having to ask for help on how to use the kiosks. They added recliner seats which enhance your experience and for anyone that's cold, there's a button that warm up your seat which I used several times while in the theater. The customer service experience was great with no complaints whatsoever. read more

I went to see a movie with the family. I am new to town and just discovering all of the businesses around the area. I bought the tickets online ahead of time which made it possible just to go in and show the QR code as opposed to stopping at the box office. We went to a 12:30 matinee viewing which had a 25% discount online. The tickets were only $10 each! The concessions have kiosks that you order your popcorn or drinks or candy from. It was a little confusing to figure that out, but I managed. My popcorn and cup was immediately ready which I appreciated. The theater is nice and has reclining comfortable chairs that have a heating option which I loved. read more

My bestie and I went to see Scream7 last night. This is the first time I've been to the Summit location since the remodel. Parking was crowded on a Friday night but once parked we met at the door. They checked our bags as we entered the lobby area. The concession area was crowded but moved quickly with self checkout kiosk. The drink stations were clean. The seating once in the theater was spacious with leather recliners that have heated options, you can choose 3 different heat levels to stay cozy. The screen was clear and high definition. The same was crisp and audibly pleasing. Despite being a crowded Friday night the bathrooms were well maintained. Staff worked quickly to remove trash as the movies ended and new one were to start. Overall great experience will definitely go back to the Summit location. read more

My first Yelp review! On March 11, 2025, four days ago, I came here from Gadsden with my grandfather to see "Night of the Zoopocalypse." We've enjoyed seeing movies together for many years now. I pre-ordered our tickets to go see the 3 PM screening for that day which was the last screening day in the movie's limited run. When we arrived, there was one female employee at the registers, the only employee present during this quiet point of the day at the theater. She did a great job of quickly scanning my QR code and getting our ticket stubs & popcorn ready. Then, we filled our sodas at the Freestyle machines which were fully operational, but one of the buttering stations for the popcorn was out. No big deal. Bringing my grape Sprite with me, we found our way to auditorium 16 for the movie. Trailers played for about 15-20 minutes before the movie started just after 3:20 PM, which was convenient for us since we ran a few minutes late. The only minor issue is that one of the speakers in the right side of the auditorium (when seated) sounded worn or damaged. If there was any moment in the movie with heavy bass, crackling could be heard in that specific speaker. It was so few and far in between that it didn't ruin our experience, but it's still something that should be looked at. I sent a message to AMC about that, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt there since they may not be aware of it yet. The bathroom was clean, and overall, we enjoyed the enjoyed the experience at this AMC theater. This is only the second time I've ever been to one, the other being in Rome, GA. While the one in Rome had a prettier lobby, this theater was satisfactory and I would give it another go if I lived in Birmingham. 4 stars is about right for our experience, no lower than 3. read more

I just left this theater. I went there for a 630 showing of Deadpool wolverine. Turns out the AC was broken and no one bothered to tell the prepaid ticket people. When I asked them how to refund my ticket they said they couldn't because it was PayPal and I could only get it on a gift card. I am not from Alabama, so that solution was not going to work for me, but it was the only solution provided. The supervisor on duty was literally told about the AC problem as the general manager was leaving. The general manager did not reach out to us and left his staff to deal with this situation. I do not feel that was appropriate. It is not her fault that the AC is broken and it is his responsibility to make sure that we are taken care of as the GM. No one notified us ahead of time of the issue and they let us in and to our seats knowing that there is a problem Update: After dealing with corporate they said they would make a one time exception and refund me. But when I got the refund, I noticed it was off. When I mentioned that they stated that they keep the convenience fee because it's not refundable. When I confronted them about it, they returned it, but this whole experience has ensured I will not be going to an AMC again. read more

Overall, this movie theater is an older one that AMC has. It could use a little help. It is clean which is nice. However, there are water fountains not working and the bathroom has some issues we visited. The other negative is the staff is very inattentive and don't do much. We were there for a 3 d movie and the proceeded to not inform anyone to get glasses for it. It effected multiple people. Cause people to leave their seats and go get them. read more

False advertising! Beware if you need the closed caption gadget they advertise as provided for most movies on request. The first one for Sound of Freedom had loose screws and would not sit up right. Then the power on it ran out after 5 min of the previews. Then tried a second gadget during the movie. It worked well for 10-15 min and then said low battery and it went off. So frustrating to miss every few words!! Also popcorn tasted old, like from day before. Recliner seats only let you put your feet up. The head will not angle back at all, but it was still pretty nice to prop up your feet and have space in the seat! Loved the movie; every American must see Sound of Freedom. Time to show you are a decent person and speak up and stop ignoring the harm America is doing to innocent children. We are number one consumers of sex trafficking in the world. Those unaccompanied minors coming across our Mexican border: US Government official admitted they release them and don't know what happens to them. Literally millions of porno tapes are being made of these innocent little souls being abused. Horrific! This movie is tastefully done but it will tug on your heart. read more

This theater is in need of some TLC. I'm not really complaining because I only paid $5 for my movie ($5 Tuesday's is the move, y'all), but in comparison to other AMC theaters, this one is at the bottom of the list. I think with it being located at the Summit, they are long overdue for renovations. I'm not the one to go to the theaters as often, but as long as they keep this deal going every Tuesday, I'll be popping up every now and then! Also, we bought a popcorn bucket. It was less than $10 and allows for $4.99 refills in the future. Yes this means no free refills, but honestly, who can eat over a gallon of popcorn in one sitting! Ha! There's a few theaters around Birmingham I go to, and this is one of them. It's not my favorite one with the upgrades the theater in Vestavia has made, but this one is still decent. I usually only come to this one if I'm already eating or shopping at the Summit so it's convenient. As for the individual theater details, they have a box office which was of course closed the last time I came here, and you had to purchase tickets at the concession area. I didn't mind that since I wanted an Arctic Blast anyways. I got the blue one. Best drink ever! I highly recommend. Then when you go into the theater, there are several rooms. I'm not a movie connoisseur by any means, but this movie theater has some definite improvements that should be made. 1) Ticket buying: Why do you only have one person at the ticket window when the line to buy tickets is all the way to the street? Since patrons have to select their seats it can take a bit longer... the company should really notice these things and open up another register at peak times. 2) I can't speak of the food/drink options since we did not get any, but my friends did comment that the popcorn was cold and stale. 3) The actual room that we were in was super old and dated. The screen did not align with the seats, so even though you picked the middle seat, you were off centered. 4) Bathrooms could have used some updating.... the lock on the stall I went into didn't work. This review should carry even more weight since I don't go to many movie theaters and I thought it was lacking. It would behoove management to move into the 21st century or I imagine business will/already has suffered. read more

The ticket counter workers were very accommodating and sweet. One even complimented my hair! (I love compliments) we went to see "I Wanna Dance With Somebody"! It was a heartfelt movie in which jerked a few tears. The theater was clean and empty, so no noise! We went at noon so that was definitely a great choice! I enjoyed my time here! read more

This theater is just your basic movie theater. It hasn't been renovated like the Vestavia location which offers the "dine in" option, but it serves its purpose. When we arrived there was a long line for tickets. Luckily we had bought online so they were able to scan my phone and we didn't have to wait. Because of this, we were able to get seats quickly. Then while the credits were running, I went and stood in line for our popcorn and drinks. By that point, there were only three people ahead of me and I was able to get back to my seat just as the credits were ending. About the concessions, The popcorn was hot and fresh and they have a machine that allows you to add your own butter. Luckily they also have a serve yourself drink machine which cuts down on lines at the concession stand. Regarding the prices, I think everyone could complain about the price of movie popcorn and drinks, and we could all agree that we wish they were cheaper. Once the movie started, there were no problems with the movie or sound quality. Everything was great! In my opinion, the bathrooms were typical for a movie theater; messy with garbage overflowing and wet countertops. read more

I decided to enjoy my day off with a movie. I was able to eat and do a little shopping in the area. I am very familiar with going to the concession area to purchase my ticket. However, I do feel that the wait time in line would be shorten it they had more people at the registers. Having people purchase tickets and order food really keeps the line from moving faster. Maybe they should have at least 1-2 other people only fulfilling orders to speed up the purchasing process. Just a thought. If you're going on a weekend day or evening to see a new release I suggest you purchase tickets online. There is a small fee to buy online tickets but it's worth it. Since it was raining when we got there the outside box office was closed. The line to purchase tickets was pretty much out the door. One of the great things about buying your tickets online is that you can choose your seat and not have to wander in looking for a seat! The seats are fairly comfortable, but don't expect reclining seats, they aren't here yet. I rated them 4 stars because there was trash left in cup holders between shows I assume. There was also trash left on the floor after our show. I'm hoping that staff checks for trash and picks up trash. Sadly people aren't good house keepers sometimes. read more

I will first preface this review by stating that all theaters in AL have not caught up with the rest of the country in seating and other amenities. This theater is about like all the rest, we saw a regular 2d movie. The theater itself sounded great but was smaller and than i was expecting. The movie we saw was a new release that had been out a week or so, but still pretty small venue. The seating was average but little leg room for a 2 hour movie. The picture was bright and clear, what you expect from a modern day theater. If updates were made it would be a lot more comfortable... like reclining seats, adult beverages... Extremely rude service. Unbelievably disrespectful. On the stormy day today they provided no information to customers standing outside. And when calling about an update about when they were opening, we were told "I don't know I'm not the weatherman." We had no idea if they were opening or not. We were just looking for information.
