Caught a Sunday matinee at AMC Patton Creek 15 and it was exactly the kind of laid-back vibe I needed to ease into the week. The earlier showtime was perfect... no big crowds, no long lines, and plenty of good seat options without feeling rushed. Parking was easy, and getting in and out of the theater was smooth. The lobby and auditoriums were clean, and the seats were comfortable enough to fully settle in and enjoy the movie. If you're looking for a chill, low-key movie experience, I definitely recommend hitting a Sunday matinee here. It's a great way to enjoy a film without the usual weekend chaos. We purchased the tickets for a family movie night ahead of time on the AMC app. When we arrived to check in, we were greeted by Luis, who made sure to check each pair of 3D glasses before handing them to us, to ensure we didn't get any scratched or otherwise messed up glasses. I really appreciated that! We had ordered ahead some popcorn and drink combos, which were supposed to be ready when we arrived. However, when we got to the concession counter, the two young gentleman working there seemed clueless that we even had an order. Once I showed them our orders, they scrambled to get them together. No apology was given. No that we HAD to have our stuff ready, we are laid back. It's just that having it ready was the expectation (having even received a text saying it would be ready when we arrived) and wasn't. To add to that. they didn't seem to care much. The bathrooms were not being tended to, it appears. The movie, the sound and the temperature of the theatre were all good, so we enjoyed the movie. read more

AMC is one of the biggest movie theater chains and the experience can vary depending on the specific location. Came to see the new Michael movie and from booking my seat through the app was an easy process. With it being opening day for the movie the concession area was beyond packed and the line was very long. They should have been better prepared for such a large crowd. I wish they would upgrade their seats to recliners. The person in front of me kept throwing their seat back hitting my legs. I didn't get any popcorn or beverages this visit. You can expect an overall solid experience here for the most part. read more

Went to see the Color Purple on Christmas Day, this was a planned event. The movie was well laid out. It was reminiscent of the original but was really nice standing on its own two feet. All performances were fabulous and attire was superb. I need those Swead boots Mister was wearing. Singing musical portions of the movie was enjoyable. I give it a 4 but probably its actually like a 3.5. I have been spoiled by these theaters with reclining, heated, leather seats! I love the AMC chain. I have received great service by all of the employees, no matter which location I visit. I have to give a big shout out to them because they have always been super accommodating to my son who is in a wheel chair and has vision issues. I really really appreciate that. Get yourself an A List membership if you dont have one. Im so glad I do. Here are my pros and cons of this location! Pros - 15 screens so there are more movies than some of the other theaters in town. - IMAX for my BIG SCREEN viewing pleasure - Convenient to the interstate for easy in and out. - Many restaurants really close by for an easy dinner and a movie night. Cons - Not a lot of leg room between the rows - I looked under the seats for something I dropped and let me say...yuk! - Older seats that arent that comfortable compared to some of the newer theater seats I have been going to this theater for many years. It is my #2 theater in Bham but its pretty far behind my #1. I watched Star Wars here on the IMAX a few weeks ago and really enjoyed the experience. Overall, this is a nicer movie theater, it is newer than ones in the area. They keep it clean and that is nice. It has imax as well. The one big negative is they don't staff the concessions well, one can wait over 30 minutes during the evening when multiple movies are starting around the same time, this was an issue pre Covid as well! read more

We were at the AMC Patton Creek on 12/23 at 4:30pm for a showing of SpiderMan. The movie was good but theater experience was HORRIBLE. Here's why I was disappointed by the experience we had: 1) facility was open but box office was closed; 2) no ticket takers/greeters on duty; 3) no signage indicating which screen was showing which movie; 4) lights not on in the lobby; 5) concession stand grossly understaffed and out of neatly everything, including ice in the drink machines; 6) entire facility was filthy--lobby floors sticky and littered with trash, bathrooms hadn't been cleaned and out of soap, theater hadn't been cleaned between showings; 7) no previews shown for upcoming movies; 8) movie started almost 20 minutes late! I tried to find a manager to discuss but there didn't seem to be one on site. The kids working concessions we're doing their best but this location clearly suffers from not having a competent adult in charge! I have tried calling the location several times over several days and have never been able to reach a live person. I finally sent an email to AMC but got a return message with canned FAQ answers, and in very small print, a statement that the issue was resolved. What?!?! Message said to "reply to this message if this does not answer your issue". I did. Got the same canned message back. I know that the movie industry took a beating during the COVID close downs last year, so I am eager to support them now. However, I am disgusted by the way that this location is run. I will be shocked if they can keep their doors open if this is how they continue to operate. read more

Prices are too high. Service is ok but nothing to write home about. We had gift cards but no one had time or the desire to find out how to read them. This is why Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, YouTube, and many others continue to grow when we all would live the big screen but why bother since the AMC folks don't bother to help either. read more

I've been coming to this theater for quite some time and I like how the seats are not only comfortable, but you can lay back. The nachos were good, but like any other snacks at the concession stand it is expensive. It best to come here early because me and my friend were the only people in the auditorium and that made it a pleasant movie experience without any talkers. Definitely my least favorite movie theater in Birmingham. Best in my opinion in order 1. Summit 2. Vestavia 3. Lorna Ridge 4. Trussvile The biggest most inconvenient downfall here is you have wait forever for a ticket and then forever again for concessions. At other AMCs if you buy concessions, you can buy your tickets at the same spot. Here they won't let you enter without a ticket. So be prepared to wait a while in whatever horrible Alabama weather we have that day. Tonight was muggy and uncomfortable. They desperately need to fix this waiting forever problem. We basically stood in line a total of 3 times. Our first attempt at concessions we gave up on because we didn't want to miss the first part of the movie. We then had to come back another time causing us to miss a piece of the movie. We were hungry so we had to get something. The bathrooms here are just unkept and the floors throughout are littered with popcorn and trash. All the trash cans are full and falling out. The place was simply trashed. Please do better at getting people through the lines, training and keeping the place clean. We were 10 mins early and weren't anticipating waiting in line for 30 mins. The movie we watched was awesome but this theater needs to work out some kinks. Hire more people and mange better. read more

This is an average place to watch the latest Hollywood blockbusters. There are multiple screens and comfortable seating. You can watch movies in standard definition or 3D or IMAX. The stars are really due to the lackluster service I consistently receive when I visit. This is the closest movie theater to my home, which is why I go here the most. The service here leaves much to be desired. I absolutely cannot stand employees of places that mumble when yore speaking with them. Some of the employees here barely open there mouths to speak (not sure is this from laziness or lethargy) so trying to ask questions is kind of pointless. Another thing I noticed is this theater doesn't always have showings of movies that have been out a shirt period of time. I wanted to watch John Wick 3 here earlier this weekend and they had no showings. I understand some big movies came out, but with as many screens as they have, at least one could have been for John Wick 3 showings. I'll be back, but only because of convenience. read more

My husband and I decided to come here today to enjoy an early afternoon movie!! I was shocked when I was asked what seats we wanted to sit in! I had no clue they allow you to choose you seats! I was also informed about the Free AMC Membership which made our ticket prices total $10 today!! Literally where the heck have I been, lol!! Now my husband and I also love the food! We ordered the nachos, which come in a box thats sealed, nacho cheese cups that are sealed and jalapeño peppers that are also in a closed container. We also ordered the Cinnamon Pretzel Bites with frosting. These choices were so good! The food is always a bit pricey though. I can't believe I have not written a review for this place yet... well what can you say about an AMC that has not already been said... but I will say go to the matinees to save some money, and on Tuesdays for 5 dollar movies. I will also say doing the amc premier membership will also save you time if you go on a busy day.. all the concession stand items are exactly what you would expect. However.... and now we get to the real reason of this particular review... AMC started carrying gourmet popcorn..... having said that.... I cannot believe how good caramel corn tastes warm... yes I said WARM!!!! I specifically come to the movies now to get this delicious warm treat and I get the BIG bucket lol. It is more expensive than regular but so worth it!!! They do have another one beside the caramel corn, maybe white cheddar... but I can't get past the caramel corn... so if you really like this type popcorn you must stop by and get a bucket... you will not be disappointed:) read more

We went to see Barbie and had a terrible experience. The theatre was disgusting, for one. The counters were drenched in butter, popcorn, stick soda and wrappers. It felt like nobody had taken the time to dispose of trash. The bathrooms were very similarly unkempt. What was once a great area of Hoover has become so rundown. If you even think of coming to the iMax here, STOP. Do not do it. The theatre is so loud there are a few of us outside the theatre waiting for the manager for a refund because it is so LOUD! Deafening loud. I mean super loud. I can't take it. Ah.. here is the manager. The manager says she is on the phone with iMax and they have to turn it down. She cannot do it. Avoid at all costs!!!!!! Saw Oppenheimer in 70mm today and all of the highlights (brightly exposed areas in the movie) had a ghosting effect that caused a major distraction. After the movie ended the person next to me asked if it was his eyes or was something wrong. The end credits looked like they were smeared. read more

My daughter and I saw a movie at this theater on a Tuesday to take advantage of their $5 ticket tuesday deals. We were 30 minutes earlier than the posted showtime. It was a good thing we arrived when we did, because the line to purchase tickets was long, as was the line to purchase snacks. There were only two people working the ticket booth outside. There is a queue for A-List/Premiere members, and a line for Insider/non-member. Here's a breakdown of the levels of membership: Stubs Insider - free; $5 ticket tuesdays and earn $5 rewards, FREE large popcorn refill Stubs Premiere - $15/year; no online ticketing fees, plus perks of Insider, plus more A-List - $19.95/month (+tax); see up to 3 shows every week, plus all perks of the Premier level, plus more So, the line for the A-List/Premiere members was short because every time someone got in that line, they were helped next, no matter how long they've been standing there. Sometimes, both booths were helping the priority people. Meanwhile, the regular line is not serviced at all, and continued to build and build. Ridiculous! If AMC is going to have a priority line, then they need to have more people working and have two ticketing booths for the regular line and a dedicated booth for the priority line. We waited what seemed like forever to get our tickets. Then, the ticket person couldn't find my account, not by phone number, not by email address. I then wrote the info down for her and viola, she found my account using the email address. Very frustrating to me and to the people waiting behind me. It didn't get any better inside people. Again, 1 line for A-List/Premiere members, and 1 line for Insiders/non-members. There were about 5 people working the registers. And, every time there was a customer in the priority line, they were helped, regardless of how long they have been waiting. At numerous times, all 5 registers were helping the priority people. Yes, the non-priority line got longer and longer, and we barely made it into our movie on time. There were many people who came into the theater late because they were in line for snacks. Guess what, they should have had one register (or more depending on crowd level) dedicated to the priority line, but have one register (or more depending on crowd level) for the regular line. We all paid to see the movie, and we're paying to get snacks. AMC, I see that you're trying to make more money off of movie goers. But, you will loose people who don't want to spend even more money to see a movie when ticket prices and snack prices are already outrageous! I doubt that I will go to the movies at AMC theaters very much any more, and if I just have to see something on the big screen, I definitely won't be buying their snacks, because I just can't spend any more time nor frustration to stand in their lines! read more

Really nice theater with tons of movies. We were able to get tickets for 5 o'clock for really cheap so check different times to see what the bargain price is. They also have an annual popcorn bucket you can buy and bring back to theatre for discounted refills. Looks like this will be our main movie theater. This is the only AMC movie theater that I've been to and so far, the place never disappoint. The only thing that bother me is that you no longer purchase your movie ticket at the window booth, but at the concession stand and that can be an issue if customers are holding up the line because they can't decide on what snacks they want. At least they have enough employees behind the counter to cover the new system they have going on. As far the theater goes, it always clean and I loved the lay back chairs which makes them stand out from all the other movie theaters around town. First let me say that my family and I love a good movie and this is our go to theater. We went on Tuesday, December 26th and the place was a disaster. The floors were dirty, the popcorn butter station was disgusting, bathrooms were horrid. I bought tickets to my movie online and arrived 30 minutes early only to find the line was literally out the front door. I still had to wait to show my QR code before getting paper tickets to get to the movie and buy refreshments. I waited in line 45 minutes before it was my turn. We missed the first few minutes of the movie which is unacceptable. A movie night is not cheap so you certainly don't want to get short changed. There were 3 people running the counters, a middle aged man, a male teenager and a young lady. The young lady was the only one who seemed to care about getting the people out of the line quickly but she was strictly dedicated to the AList line. I've never seen such a mess and although this seemed unusual from what I've seen in the past, it would definitely make movie goers choose a different theatre in the future. read more

Best theater in the Birmingham area. Staff is always friendly and facilities are always very clean. Only theater within driving distance that has a regular IMAX option available. No big issues to talk about. If you are a stub member this is the theater we feel follows the premier benefits most closely. Only thing that takes this down from 5 stars is the amount of time the concession line tends to take. It never seems like they are in a hurry to get anything done. So get in with plenty of time to get your concessions. read more

What a dump. This theater needs a SERIOUS overhaul, or at the very least, management that cares about it. Things I noticed tonight: 1. There were several ceiling tiles missing in our theater. 2. There was no air. It was hot, and the air was totally stale in the theater. 3. The popcorn was burned. 4. There was a couple letting their children stick their fingers up inside the slushee machine spouts and taste them. And then stick them back in. And there was no one there to stop them. 5. The concessions folks were disengaged. 6. The floor was littered with napkins and garbage. 7. The men's room REEKED of old pee. It was hard to breathe. The floor was filthy. 8.
