A hidden treasure to the Birmingham area! Grand River Drive-In was an absolute dive. I was not expecting any of the swoon that we experienced, and can't wait to revisit in the fall! We went on a Saturday night for the first showing, at 2030. All guests were courteous and respectful. Many had lawn chairs and blankets that they utilized around their parked car. The Snack Shack is lacking in options, but fortunately there is an eatery attached to the outlet that is not any farther walk than the Snack Shack. Restrooms are also located near the eatery. Rules state that outside food and drink are prohibited, but I don't think anyone would approach you over it, after all, you are in your own, personal, vehicle. First time here and definitely won't be my last. Movies are rain or shine. There is a concession stand where you can purchase snacks. Also there are a few restaurants near by that you can dine at and have drinks before the movie starts. Be patient because when I went there was only 1 window open for the concession stand and the line was really long. read more

We went for a drive in double feature on a summer Saturday. Having a car who's lights won't turn off we planned on renting a radio like we have done in the past. After arriving and paying for tickets we were informed they no longer offer radio rentals for the movies which left us scrambling for alternatives. Both screens finished the first movie at the same time (9:30pm) and most of the crowd went scrambling to the bathroom which wouldn't be an issue if they had their outdoor large bathrooms open, but they did not. Everyone had to wait for the single stall bathroom to open up pushing time to make it back for the second feature. We had also planned to grab snacks in between movies so we made our way to the snack shack where both the pop corn and soda machines were down. And about 5 employees were just sitting outside This place has so much potential and I've had decent experiences in the past but this visit left room for a tremendous amount of improvement unfortunately read more

We came here as the final stop for my niece's birthday. I was given a specific time to come as I would be allowed to setup early for the "party". Unfortunately, there was miscommunication between Dave and another individual (contact persons for venue ) and my sister as it related to the setup time . What a mess. I became so annoyed. Everything worked out. Dave called and apologized and provided me with a sooner setup time vs what he told me when I first arrived at the venue . I don't know that it's worth paying to rent the space but that's just my opinion. I didn't even take pics of the space we rented. I'm sorry. I love the idea of the drive in but the movie selections weren't the best. It was mostly cartoons. The movie we watched was SYFY and I couldn't follow along. Very few of us could. I think this is a great addition to the Leeds area for sure. I may give it another try later on down the road. read more

Saw the new Hunger Games movie here. First time going to a drive-in and it was a good experience. It's definitely a different experience from a movie theater but I expect I will return eventually. Stop at one of the restaurants on location and shop around. You can make a whole evening out of this. read more

Great option for a COVID-friendly movie outing! Staff was friendly and food was good. I would definitely prefer not to hand my phone to staff to check in, though -- especially during a pandemic, and wish they also had an option to order food for delivery to the vehicle. Also, couldn't find stations for the screens posted to either the website or facebook page, the bartender said someone had taken his "cheat sheet" down, and since it took so long to get food and drinks the movie had started when we got back to the car and we had to bother someone else to ask. read more

Best place for a movie and family time and you can bring your pups! It's also super affordable and you have Saws BBQ and Neighbors Pizza. They also have a dog park, arcade and putt putt for $5. Highly recommend bringing chairs, a boom box radio so you don't use your car battery and blankets. read more

Food: Saws was good, a little over priced for the amount of food but the food itself was good. I had the BBQ chicken potato and I was content with the serving, but my husband got the combo platter of pork and chicken and I was very disappointed with the serving size. He got two meats and two sides and it barely filled his plate. The food itself was good, but the amount for price was mediocre at best, especially for the combo. Drinks: I had a Cahaba Hurricane and a rum and Coke. The cahaba hurricane was just ok, and the Coke in my run and Coke was flat. My husbands R&C was fine, and he also had a Red Mountain Monster, which he said was just alright. We are not beer drinkers but if you are, they have a HUGE selection of beer. Atmosphere: it kind of had that "fun in the sun" vibe which is great; music, lawn chairs, lawn games, etc. The negative was the kids. They were everywhere, which isn't an issue itself, but of course most parents have no consideration for other people so the kids were running rampant. We tried to play corn hole and had to literally hunt down bean bags because the kids had strewn them all over the yard and were throwing them off the stage. Then as we were trying to play some kid literally JUMPED ON OUR BOARD AND KICKED THE BEAN BAGS OFF. We almost hit several kids while playing because they were running through the middle of the games. Super annoying. They were also jumping on the corn hole boards. I'm surprised they are not broken yet. If the establishment doesn't do something there won't be any games left because they will either have no parts to play with or will be broken. They didn't have any colorful balls for mini golf because all the colorful balls "disappeared about two weeks into opening", according to staff. I almost don't recommend this place because there is no rhyme or reason really. It's super chaotic, the games are disrupted, and the food/drink is meh. I would have hope for the future but unless there are some sort of guidelines in place for games and socializing, I don't think this will ever be enjoyable. read more

food was great, staff was friendly and super accommodating. the only downside is we were on screen 4 and we were watching The Batman, the lights in the patio made it nearly impossible to watch the movie since that movie pretty much takes place in the dark. first time back since it switched from Coyote and it feels like such an improvement for sure! read more
