Sweet potato hand pie, potato au gratin, cinnamon roll croissant , shortbread and apple danish

The bakery is also a store. If you need a quick corner shop they have breakfast, lunch, dinner grab and go items. The staff was super friendly and patient as I worked my way through all the pasties in the pastry case to make my selection. Another perk was how late this bakery stays open, which I believe is 8pm. I brought my family an assortment of pastries which they loved all of them. I got the sweet potato hand pie, cinnamon roll croissant, potato au gratin, apple danish, shortbread and focaccia, and I believe they all had appropriate filling to bread ratio. The pastries were shareable size and my only regret is I didn't purchase more.

Decided to make this our second stop since we haven't been in for a while. Always such a good little visit and never know what yummy surprises are waiting for you. Today I got the olive loaf, a cherry almond danish and some pasta oh and a little cherry jam. Stir young man behind the counter was absolutely the sweetest and very welcoming. Absolutely darling. Such a delight to go to even when you're not looking for anything particular. Had I not been going out and about I would have bought some cold items but it's too hot to leave in car so this just gives me an excuse to go shop another day.

Cuter bakery with quite a few items to choose from. We got a chocolate croissant and a cinnamon roll and two black iced teas. The cinnamon roll was very good with what tasted like honey drizzled throughout. The chocolate croissant really lacked enough chocolate but it was flaky and buttery. I know more chocolate would weigh down the pastry. Black tea was strong and cold.

Looking for a quick grab & go bite in Indianapolis? Make sure to stop by Amelia's for the best fresh-baked pastries and bread in town! We enjoyed the rhubarb tart, the ham and cheese biscuit, and more! Each pastry was fresh and unique. The cool part about this spot? There is a daily loaf schedule featuring new items! You can expect a bit of a line while you are there because of its popularity, but the line moves super quick because of great service! There are fresh snacks and refrigerated items that would be perfect for a date night or charcuterie board. Stop by Amelia's and try the rhubarb tart...I promise you will love it!

Stopped in to grab a chocolate croissant, and it was SO GOOD!! I love when the chocolate isn't too overpowering, and there's just enough for the croissant to have a touch of sweetness. I might become a regular from now on.

So picture it, July 11th, 2024. You are spending a fun day enjoying the random stops in Indianapolis, waiting for a concert. It's a little cloudy, so you go and scope out a park and a couple of shops before dinner. And then the heaviest rain you can imagine hits so you hide under the overhand of a tiny lil bakery whose staff ask you to come in and keep dry. We got to see quite a bit of shop goods and tons of bread and bakery items. They asked what our tastes were, I was eyeing a jalapeño blueberry corn muffin while my sister got the darkest chocolate brownie that I had ever seen. Both were especially delicious and brought smiles to our faces. The employees were kind and knowledgeable about bread. And I love good bread. 5s

This is my favorite bakery in Indianapolis. The pastries are always fresh, the nicest people work there and the they have a variety of gourmet grocery and local foods. They have non gmo feed local eggs, locally grown lettuce and herbs and meats from the smoking goose. Wide variety of breads and some gluten friendly pastries. They had a new earl grey financier GF that was out of this world! A must try!

    Ham and cheddar biscuit

The prices have gone up over the years, but it is still well worth a stop. The quality is still second to none. This time, I had the ham and cheddar biscuit, and it was perhaps the best savory biscuit I have had. You could actually see the bits of ham in the bread, and the bread had the perfect texture. It was nice and soft rather than crumbly like so many other shops. Service was quick though patient with me trying to make my selection. Someday I will have to try something from the grocery part of the store, but of the pastries, I've yet to have anything I didn't like

Enjoyed my lavender cookie so much I didn't get a photo until it was almost polished off.

Indianapolis, IN - having just finished an excellent dinner at Bluebeard, decided I needed a bit of a walk. Amelia's was right next door and possibly adjoining Bluebeard. The charming little shop has breads and also a small amount of prepared goods. In addition there were a few pastries and cookies on display. I asked the friendly employee about the lavender cookie. She noted it wasn't her favorite as she's not a lavender fan. This was so refreshing to me having been to many places where everything I ask about is THE best and THE most delicious. The cookie tastes strongly of Lavender with a tiny bit of salt maybe and sweet but not too sweet. Texture is firm but crumbly and moist. Perfect! The cookie was reasonably priced at $3. I would definitely return when in town.

I've struggled with how to rate and review Goose the Market for a long time…read more I've struggled mightily. It's an Indianapolis icon in many ways. It's beloved. And listen, it's not the most wheelchair friendly place in the world. If you're a wheelchair user, you're in all likelihood not going to the cellar unless you're extraordinary with you're chair or you crawl. I remember attending a Yelp event here, and I just wrestled with these issues so much. It's not inaccessible - you can get in the door, though even the parking is a bit wonky and the curb-cuts a bit worn. This is an older building in an older neighborhood. So yeah, if you're a wheelchair user plan ahead. I am a wheelchair user. And I suppose I should knock off my usual 1-star for accessibility issues. But, I just can't do it. I, instead, choose to go 5-stars with my narrative disclaimer that there are accessibility issues here. But, my word. This is a great place and every single experience I've had with Goose the Market, including last night's Italian Film Festival, has been stellar whether I'm in their location or at an event they are catering. What is Goose the Market? First off, nearly everyone considers it one of the best - Indianapolis Monthly, Eater, Yelp, etc. Goose the Market offers a daily menu of sandwiches, soups, gelato, and small plates. It offers raw beef, pork, poultry, game, seafood, in-house made sausage/smoked meats, and more. It offers charcuterie - both in-house and from other producers. It offers farmstead cheeses, fresh produce, artisan breads, preserves, sauces, pickles, pasta, crackers, flours/grains, and a lot more. There's the cellar - Enoteca bar with Italian style wine by the glass and small plates (and it has all-ages seating). Goose the Market offers a wine of the month club, gift cards, catering, classes, daily specials, and more. What can I say? There are those places that are worth the effort. As a lifelong person with a disability, I long ago realized the world would never be perfectly accessible. It's never going to happen. I'll continue to work toward a more accessible world, though I'll also honor that there are those places where I feel welcome anyway. I feel welcome at Goose the Market, though I can't quite get the full experience. The service is exceptional, the products quite awesome, the environment warm and friendly, and there's simply no doubt it's one of Indy's treasures. So yeah, five stars. With a disclaimer that those with mobility impairments may need to plan ahead or have a companion along. Who wants to be my companion?

What a fun spot for a sandwich or cheese or sundry items!…read more It is on the corner of two busy streets but does have two spots in front for parking. You can also park in the gravel lot across the road. It was raining pretty heavily so we got wet but wasn't a far dash. The counter is like any deli with the items displayed in the cold case. You can browse the various freezers or shelves for items like picked veggies, canned fish or spreads. It was fun to see that you could buy everything needed for a picnic or impromptu lunch! We got sandwiches to go as well as locally baked cookies. I tried the recommendation for a vegetarian sandwich. It was nice and crusty and had some good flavor. I might create my own next time, but theirs was good and had lots of flavor! My friend was new to Indianapolis and really liked the options. She said she would be back and so will we. They also do tasting events and other things so we might check out one of their offerings. A fun local spot!

I was impressed with the butcher shop and fish market. They had a good selection of beef, pork, chicken, and fish. They also had a nice deli area. In the middle of the store, they had limited supply of groceries needed to cook the protein items they sell. There is also a prepackaged fresh and frozen area with ready to take and eat meals. It had a small grocery store type atmosphere. The individuals behind the counter were very helpful and knowledgeable. They cut our fish fillet for us. He also provided a good recipe and means to cook the fish at home. That was very much appreciated.... Particularly since we are new to this whole healthy eating concept. Wish us luck! The prices here appear to be a little more expensive than your average grocery store. However, we are hoping that the fish is better quality and fresher in nature. We will definitely be returning.
