The team here is incredible and made this an incredibly impressive experience that I came home telling my family about. The staff immediately greeted me, briefly explained the store layout and high quality of the meat, then shared their favorite items. They came out from behind the counter to show me the hickory smoked bacon that they all love. Their description of the taste sold me on it immediately and I bought two packs for my husband. He loved them. Their team also shared how incredible and fresh their chicken is, so I got a few chicken breasts as well and enjoyed looking around the store, full of local chips, sauces, dips, and meats. It's a small store, but packed with good stuff. I'll definitely be back, not only for the quality meat, but for the friendly service. Butcher shops can sometimes be overwhelming as someone who doesn't know a ton about cuts of meat, but they were so eager to explain and share their knowledge, which was much appreciated.

This is my first time going to a butcher shop. You can enter the shop from either side. The shop is pack with fresh bacon, ribs, steaks, pork chops, sausage, and chicken. The gentleman that helped me was very helpful and informative. The meat does not have any fillers and preservatives. If you want to spend a little less money and don't care if you meat is not as fresh then you can buy stuff from the freezer. The freezer meat is 20% off every Monday, by the way. The store also sells seasonings, sauces, small desserts, some gummies and chips. The shop is very clean and has adequate parking. I got a few steaks and some ground beef made into half pound patties. I spent a little more than I had planned but oh well. I must admit that the meat was fresh. I got home, seasoned my meat and threw it on the grill. Look out Ruth Chris, my steaks were scrumptious. Very good. The burgers were good, but next time, I would probably do quarter pounders. The half pounders were huge. Yes, you will pay a lot more getting your meat from a butcher versus a grocery store, but sometimes you have to splurge. You do get the freshest cuts and a higher quality meat. I definitely wont get my meat from a butcher every time. But when I do, this shop will be a super option for me.

We LOVE this place. Have only recently discovered it in the past few months since my son started North Central across the street this year, but have been pretty much weekly customers since. The employees are so knowledgable and friendly, and have given us some great recommendation and cooking tips for our purchases. My kiddo has developed a passion for steak, which isn't a cheap hobby, but all of the products we've ever gotten here have been of outstanding quality. Make sure you pick up a bottle of their signature house garlic butter seasoning, it's great on pretty much anything. We've used it on steaks, pasta, mashed potatoes, garlic bread... so tasty. I'll never buy steaks from a grocery store again.

    Finally here !!

The quality of their meat is excellent and customer service is good. My only complaint is that there are no prices on their meat.

They also have a cellar with wine and beer. There's even gelato! But I came for the sandwich! I tried the Batalli sandwich, which was spicy and so flavorful with the perfect balance of textures! I also tried the special Tayaki, which was a good sweet counterpoint! Absolutely delicious! I'm still thinking about these sandwiches a week later! There is a gravel lot across the road and street parking. There's minimal seating indoors and some tables outside. Service was quick, and everyone was so kind and welcoming!

Bacon making class: overall I am glad I did the class, but think there are some things that could change. The information provided at the beginning of the class didn't flow the best, and used a lot of terms I didn't understand- knowing your audience is important. We were told we would get 1.5lbs bacon, and .5lbs bacon bits. When picking up the bacon, we only got the bacon, and none of the bits. This needs to be updated on the class description. Sandwiches: we tried a goose, and a batalli. The goose was good- nothing spectacular. I was a fan of the batalli- nice amount of mayo, appropriate spice, and good amount of meat/cheese. Would definitely get the batalli next time. Overall, I enjoy the sandwiches, think the sandwich class could be improved.

I checked in…read morewith the young woman tending the register and she gave me the lay of the land as well as a souvenir tasting fork of my choice. There were a few designs to choose from: a lobster, an oyster, and a fish, from what I can recall. She also introduced me to our gracious host for the evening, Nolan, who was running the show. Nolan is a big ball of energy and a joy to be around. He set the vibes to light, fun and whimsical and I really appreciated that. Everyone moved around the room freely, visiting all of the tasting stations that were set up with whimsical, hand-drawn decorations on the paper tablecloths (much like that seen on the Pinterest commercial). There were 6 different ones, all with multiple options at each station. I tried sardines, razor clams, pickled ramps, an entire array of Fishwife tinned items, mustards, seafood dip that is made in-house, oysters, the list goes on. They also introduced me to an Indiana-based soda company call Bollygood, with Indian-inspired flavors. I love, love, love the Lime Basil Cumin flavor. I wasn't too sure about that combo, but it was delicious and super-refreshing. It smelled like a taco...but didn't taste like one! The Lemon Mango Turmeric was really good too. I also enjoyed the demonstrations lead by Chef Amber. She also has a light that was a pleasure to witness. I could just tell that she really loves what she does. While she does not work there, she still gets to come back for the fun stuff (her words). She has been a huge influence on the whole tinned fish movement at the smokehouse and develops recipes and curates these events alongside Nolan and the team. I loved both recipes that were shared with us and her enthusiasm to show us how we can elevate the tinned fish beyond the can. We mingled. We made friends. I spent a pretty penny on several of the delicious items that I was introduced to. I look forward to attending more events here in the future.
