No one should have to go through what we did. Spend your time, money, and emotions elsewhere for your big day. Initially, had a lovely appointment picking out bridesmaids dresses. Maria and the other ladies were accommodating, helpful, and honest. They measured us (5 bridesmaids), and we waited for the dresses to come in. When the dresses arrived, all had to be hemmed and 3/5 had to be let out. We were frustrated that they did not fit, especially because we asked to size up for comfort. (To give you an example, I wear a 4P regularly. I tried on the sample 8 size and it fit perfectly. Given that it's a sample and samples stretch, I asked them to size up and they ordered a 10. Unbelievable that that wouldn't fit.) At that first fitting, the assistants were defensive and suggested twice that all three of us had gained weight. At the second fitting, the hemline was still too long. We again left the dresses there (1 week before wedding). When we go to pick up the dresses, there was a rip in one of the dress's seams. The material around the zipper of another dress did not line up. When we complained and asked them to fix it, the assistants AGAIN were defensive, blaming us despite the fact that we had not touched the dresses since the second fitting. Through all of this, which included a lot of anger, frustration, panic, and fear, the assistants at Amelia's Bridal berated us for gaining weight (which we did not). They said comments like "You're having a puffy day" and "If your daughters had stayed the same size"...ok so all three of us gained weight and shrunk? They REFUSED to offer any sort of discount. We had to pay for all the alterations despite one dress not being shortened on time; we had to take it to an outside tailor. More than the money aspect - no one ever offered an apology or acknowledged their own mistakes. Mistakes happen. People are willing to forgive you for them. But when you berate them, try and deflect the blame, and refuse to try and make the situation right...that's when you lose customers and they turn to the Internet. No one should have to go through what we did. Spend your time, money, and emotions elsewhere for your big day. read more

If I could give no stars I would! Horrible customer service. I originally purchased a dress that was off the shoulder. They told me that they could bring up the sides and put a cap sleeve on the dress so I didn't have to wear a strapless bra. When I went to my first fitting, I said I can't lift my arms up without the whole dress pulling up. Maria told me that I didn't need to raise my hands up like that and it shouldn't be a problem. She was going to take the sleeve off the dress (that I paid to put on the dress) and charge me for more alterations. I called her the next day and left a message not to touch the dress. I went there and got a second dress, a week before my daughter's wedding, that was tried on (used) and NO discount, they also kept my $950 deposit on my first dress. They altered my second dress which I couldn't pick up until the day before the wedding. I had to pay for the second dress in cash, they wouldn't accept a credit card. When I tried it on it was fine. I sat down at the church and my dress ripped at the seams. So now I have a hole in the side of my dress. I spent the whole night feeling self-conscious. When I went to the bridal shop to show them my dress they asked me if I caught my dress on something. It is clearly ripped at the seam! She then proceeded to tell me that I asked for it to be tighter. Well, which is it...did I ask for it to be tighter or did I catch it on something? They told me there was nothing they could do for me other than sew the hole. Very unprofessional! Just looking to make the sale! read more

BUYERS BEWARE!!! PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS BRUDAL SHOP I had made an appointment at Amelia's bridal at the beginning of 2020 after reading many positive reviews. Upon entering, I instinctively felt discriminated against as a Hispanic woman. I decided to stay since I had asked my bridesmaids to meet me there and felt bad asking them to turn back. While we were asked to wait, my bridesmaids and I began looking through dresses and were asked not to take them down to see them but to wait for the employees to take the dresses down for us. While trying on dresses, we were all so excited and began taking pictures but were told we could not do that. After they told us that, we saw another bride and her family whom where taking pictures of her in her dress and the employee did not tell them anything. As I was trying on dresses, I felt pressured into purchasing a dress at this store but after much consideration, I called the next day to cancel the purchase and asked for my deposit back. The individual I spoke with (Maria) said it was too late and they could not cancel. I attempted to describe to her how I felt pressured into purchase the dress and felt rushed and how I purchased a dress they had on hand and nothing had to be specially ordered but it seemed she did not care. Immediately after my purchase, the pandemic began, and I kept pleading for my money back because I had to cancel my wedding indefinitely due to the pandemic limitations. My bridesmaids also ordered their dresses from this store and are out the deposit because I am unable to get married until this pandemic settles down. I have called and e-mailed many times pleading with them for the deposits back and have explained how and why the pandemic has also played a role in the decision but they refuse to return any of the money or meet me halfway. They have kept over $3,000 in deposits for items I will never receive and for a wedding I, unfortunately, cannot have. Overall, I have not had a pleasant experience at this store and I am saddened and disturbed by their "customer service". I cannot express how much I do NOT recommend this bridal shop to anyone. So far so good!! My sis is getting married, so I'm the maid of honor. Needless to say This wasn't my first visit to a bridal shop. There were eye catching dresses in the window and on display. Each dress has a pic of the dress in a model, that made searching easier. Customer service was awesome. This was the first time I didn't have to dress my sis. Last week I went into Amielas for a two hour appointment... which only lasted 30 minutes...One hour for my wedding dress and one hour for my bridesmaids dresses. I had such a horrible experience when making the appointment. It seemed as if I was bothering the lady behind the counter . On the day of my appointment I asked to try on a dress that was hanging on a manikin and was told by Maria that I would have to make a separate appointment to try it on. Then while trying on other dresses I was prohibited to take any photos and Maria told my sister to put her phone away. After that I just wanted to leave... But we wanted to look at bridesmaids dresses so while looking for bridesmaids dresses my mother who has cancer and is not well asked to use the bathroom and Maria said someone was in there... Been waiting for months for a bridesmaid dress got a call 3 weeks before the wedding that the dress company sent the wrong size and have to wait about 2 weeks for the right size to come in. Thou they claim it's the dress company's fault they are not being accommodating when I ask if they could waive the alteration fee bc this is becoming a inconvenience once the dress comes in they said no. That they will do same day alterations but it will be so close to the wedding I don't have time to be going to get a dress altered with my busy schedule. As a bride, I'm a bit disappointed in the turnaround time for bridesmaids dresses at Amelia's. I'm aware that it could take about 3-4 months for dresses to come in, but we are now in the 5th month and one of my bridesmaids have yet to receive their dress and my wedding is next week. I am told this is the company's (Bill Levkoff) fault, and i would recommend anyone purchasing from Bill Levkoff to proceed with caution. I hope that as a sign of good customer service, Amelia's will give some sort of discount to my bridesmaid. Hopefully, Bill Levkoff Co. gets their act together as well as their service. read more

I went to this store today looking for a wedding dress for my wedding in July. The first dress the sales woman pulled out I fell in love with! I tried on a few other dresses but I was sold on the first dress. They even let me ring a bell like they do at Kleinfields when I said Yes to the dress lol which was awesome. The prices they have are great and affordable as well! If your looking for a place to find your bridal gown I def recommend going here they have so many gorgeous gowns ! Poor customer service! We ordered bridesmaids dresses from them in January/ February for a July wedding. Dresses took almost 6 months to arrive , one dress is still not delivered 10 days before wedding. They are rude and act like they're doing you a favor ordering the dress for you. They also have a ridiculous cash only policy that they do not make clear when picking up your gowns after the 6 month wait. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place! I have dealt with several bridal shops that were cheaper and so much more accommodating than Amelia's. I chose to purchase my wedding dress here solely because they carried the designer I liked at reasonable prices. I tried on 4 dresses in about 20 minutes and purchased the first one I tried on. Fortunately I did not require alterations beyond raising the hem about 1 inch so that was painless. My MoH did have a good experience with their seamstress, but we did not purchase the Bridesmaid dresses there. read more

I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt & ignore the horrid reviews the establishment has on google, but I should've listened. I have 6 bridesmaids, a flower girl & my bridal gown to purchase still. I had researched bridesmaids gowns first & flower girl dresses & saw that Amelia's carried the designers I was looking for. As a diligent shopper I called the store to see if they had any of the bridesmaids gowns on hand so I may see them in person (knowing they are samples & won't be the right size or colors). I called & spoke to some individual. I gave her the numbers for the bridesmaids gowns & they had 3 out of 5. I was thrilled as they had the 1 I was almost certain I wanted to choose, BUT wanted to make sure I liked it as much in person. As for the flower girl dress they didn't have the exact dress I had wanted for my niece BUT they had some from that designer so I could have my niece try them on for sizing. I make an appointment tell my bridesmaids & we are set. 3 weeks go by & it is now the day of my appointment. I live about 45 minutes from this store but it is the most convenient for all of my bridesmaids & the flower girl. I travel the 45 minutes down to the store to meet my sister(bridesmaid), my friend (bridesmaid), my cousin (bridesmaid), my niece (flower girl, 4 yrs old) & my nephew (ringer bearer, 18 months) to look at the dresses. I walk inside speak to an individual. She looks up my name and then a minute later informs me that they sold one of the samples that I had requested to see. NO APOLOGY! She showed me 1 dress she had and it was not the 1 I really wanted to see, but an alternate that I had chosen in the event that the first one was NOT what it appeared on the website. When I asked about the 3rd dress they had told me they had, she told me she could not read the other individual's handwriting. I gave her the 3rd bridesmaid gown number & she ran off for about 4 minutes only to return & tell me they sold that one too. NO APOLOGY again. My 18 month old nephew walks up & hands me a garment pin he had found. I look on the floor & there are garment pins all over the floor. I inquired who the person was who took down my information that day on the phone & either LIED TO ME or didn't care enough for my business to notify me that the dresses were no longer available to be seen so I wouldn't waste my time & efforts coming down to their apparently unclean & unsafe store. The individual there wouldn't give me the others name. Not once did I receive an apology for them selling the dresses and not informing me. The appropriate thing would have been for them to notify me prior to my appointment that the dresses were not available so I did not waste my time & effort to come down & look at 1 dress! Not to mention APOLOGIZE for doing it. I believe she just wanted me to pick a different dress because after all of this, she actually had the audacity to ask me if I wanted to try on the ONE dress (out of the 3 they said they had). I said no & walked out. I WILL NEVER EVER EVER do business with them. The worst customer service ever. They couldn't pay me to buy from them. I will be posting this review wherever I can. Every social media site, Wedding wire & whatever other websites I can find. My bridesmaids will be doing the same. Godspeed if you choose to do business with these horrid individuals. My mom spoke to a salesperson on the phone yesterday who said she could walk in for the bridal show and they would take photos for her in dresses to send back to me, but when she got there they made a big stink about her not having an appointment and told her they couldn't take any photos of her in the dress she tried on. I cannot even give this "place" a 1 star. I would not call it a boutique and the woman who "helped" my mother and I should receive a grade of F and get trained in proper customer service. They did not greet us, they insisted on the color ivory for me and acted as if my mother and I were inconveniencing them and left us on our own for the most part. On top of all that, they did not have the dress I liked in a size for me to try on. As a matter of fact, they only had one dress in my size to try on in the small place and it was a grandma style. This place was unacceptable from start to finish. Run and do not walk away from this place. One star only for the designer dress I was able to try on in ivory!. .The place is a dump. I went to at least 6 bridal salons between Westchester and NYC and this was by far the worst experience. It's located on the heart of central park ave so good luck finding parking. It's dirty the dresses were not in good condition and they were stacked very very close together on racks it's very hard to see the gowns. The bathroom was filthy. The only mirror they had was a cheap three way mirror in the dark back of the store. You can't take photos (even all the NYC boutiques with high name designers let me take photos). I would not recommend anyone coming here for their bridal gown. read more

I had a very positive and smooth experience with Amelia's Bridal and their staff. I was very fortunate to find my dream dress there. They were so kind and helpful they knew exactly what went perfectly well with my dress as far as the veil and the most gorgeous tiara , I'm still getting compliments! It wasn't about trying to just sell their products no it was about people really caring that you have the most beautiful day you can have. Every bride has questions frustrations issues complaints including myself well Maria and Rosa they answered all, and helped me with such patience and understanding. I appreciated their honest feedback on the days that I wasn't able to come with other people they helped me make my destination wedding happen by meticulously preparing the gown to fit into a carry-on and even taking a video of how the train would be assembled and tied up and released on the day of so everyone knew what to do. Excellent service and amazing selection of gowns! My wedding was April 20, 2018 and Rosa and Maria worked with me the entire time to customize my gown. They really picked up on my style and helped me find my dream dress! They also really worked with me in terms of my budget and accessories. They were patient and allowed me to go back as many times as I needed to make sure the alterations were perfect. Tina is a great seamstress and made the gown fit me like a glove! As soon as we walked in, we waited by the door for a few to be helped while Maria and her staff were busy helping others. No hello or we'll be right with you. After she's done she showed us the dresses. As we were all trying on dresses and enjoying ourselves, she tells me to put my phone away because we are not allowed to take pictures. Fine, another bridesmaid (who did not hear her tell me to put it away) takes her phone out to capture a few memories for the bride. Her coworker tells her a cellphone is out, she rudely tells the bridesmaid to put her phone away and walks back to her co-worker and said I told them to put their phones away more than once why do I have to repeat myself? with a disgusted look. We find a dress we like, and tell her if she can give us the style number so we can see it in another color online (and also because we did not want to do any business with her) She says sure gives us the style number and when we look it up it is a completely different dress! Buyer Beware. The reason I went with this shop was b/c the alterations (at that time) were ALL included for one price. They even had a contract stating so. When I went to go pick up the dress they wanted to charge me extra, since it was more work than they planned for. They would not release the dress unless I paid cash, even though it was in the contract. With less than a week to my wedding I had not choice and paid the additional $100. I had such a wonderful experience at Amelia's Bridal. Maria and Rosa are wonderful-very attentive and giving of their time. As soon as I told Maria what I was looking for, she pulled one dress, and I knew that was it. It was the first dress I tried on, and the only one I considered purchasing. She knows the stock so well she was also able to pull the perfect veil and headpiece. I also purchased my bridesmaid dresses from Amelia's. All of my bridesmaids had a great experience getting fitted and picking up their dresses. My mom also purchased her mother of the bride dress from Amelia's. The seamstress was so wonderful-my mom wanted to remove the sheer netting from the neckline and put spaghetti straps on the dress. It looks so beautiful and is exactly what she wanted. We are so happy with our experience at Amelia's and I would highly recommend it to everyone. Love love love! read more

As well they attempted to order a way too big size and I put my foot down, thank goodness as all that was required was a hem. I always support local businesses - and I hope they read this message. My wedding was 9/15/17 however my experience with Amelias began back in July 2016. And from my very first appointment to my very last, I had a wonderful experience. I honestly don't know how there are any negative reviews about Amelia's or even the staff. I have not one single complaint. Maria was absolutely wonderful! I am extremely indecisive and Maria was soo patient with me! She always gave me her honest opinion and made sure I was 100% happy with each and every item I chose for my wedding day. When I had to schedule my fittings, she always remembered I was off from work on Wednesdays! When I first picked out my dress, I tried some belts but did not actually order the belt that day and when my dress eventually came in and I was ready to decide on a belt, Maria remembered the exact belt I had tried on & liked 8 months prior! With all the brides she has, it's amazing how she's able to remember such details about each bride! And the prices were very reasonable! Yes, it is a standard set price for alterations for wedding gowns but it is not like you are forced to have your alterations done there if that is not to your liking. I can honestly say I had the opposite experience of most of these other women. I went twice and found my dress on the second time. After putting a deposit down and than doubting myself Maria was EXTRA helpful and allowed me to come back, try it again so I could put my mind at ease.
