Disappointing Experience with Dress Alterations I brought my mother of the groom dress here for basic hemming and a minor adjustment. While the actual tailoring work was fine, I was shocked when I picked up my dress to find what appear to be multiple grease or oil stains that definitely weren't there when I dropped it off. For such an important occasion, this was really disappointing. The dress now needs professional cleaning before the wedding and no promises the stains can be removed. I woud not recommend for Bride's. I was not happy with my services or the final results. I left crying! I was rushed out the door and it was not the 'bride' experience I had thought. Christine seemed much more concerned with getting paid in cash 'hundreds please' than making sure I was happy. I found Christine through some online searching as I purchased a new wedding gown at the last minute for my December 2023 wedding. I came to her in October with less than two months before the big day. Christine was absolutely amazing from the very start - she put me at ease and did not make me feel more stressed about my very tight timeline. I chose to bring my Tom Ford Vintage gown to have alterations and my dress was damaged by this seamstress. I needed a simple hem. I needed sleeves to be let out as much as fabric allowed and I needed the shoulders to be leveled since I removed the shoulder pads. she had three weeks to work on dress. when I picked up dress it was not pressed so it was difficult to see the issues when I tried on dress on. when I got home and steamed it became quite clear that the hem was very crooked, the sleeve was not only let out but she added fabric under arms to give extra space instead of just letting out sleeve as much as it allowed. She never phoned or text me that she was going to do something different than what was discussed. And the dress had to oil line stains on sleeve to mark where sleeve was tight. She very matter of factly said it was the white chalk pen that stained it but offered no apologies for the two stains on sleeve. When I mentioned the crooked hem she attempted to gaslight me by saying it was straight. I went over every issue I had with her work I asked if she was pinning dress first to make sure its even before sewing. She said she did not understand and needed me to show her. I started to pin dress but after pinning the 4th pin I stopped and told her I'm not suppose to show her how to do a simple hem. that is something she SHOULD know. When I told her it's her job not mine to know how to do hem she said she COULD not fix. Please view photos I am posting. the dress is silk along with a silk lining. She also said it's very difficult to see silk. She returned my $70 for hem and gave me an additional $30 for the two oil line stains caused by her chalk pen. I went to her for pretty simple dress alterations (just needed a hem and some new padding) but my lace topper which was separate was almost a complete loss due to my arms changing after I purchased it. After being in an accident and recovery, I lost definition in my arms (of all places) and the sleeves were too tight. Christine made no promises but offered to do her very best to fix it. Christine is UNBELIEVABLE!!! I think I brought her the most challenging dress of all time - 10+ layers of fine tulle, french lace, multiple kinds of beading, applique, corset, you name it. She removed all the accents to hem it, then re-sewed them all back on in the same elaborate design, she added boning into the corset, altered it and got it all done on time /early for my destination wedding. I had even gone to tailors who said it couldn't be done at all!!! If she could do this dress she can literally do ANYTHING. Christine is so incredibly kind and accommodating, honest and fair. I LOVE Christine! She is such a mom. I took my very elaborate wedding gown alteration to her. I am very short so I was worried when altering the hemline, I'd lose all the pretty lace detail but she detached all the applique by hand and reapplied it as if the dress was made for someone my height. She also suggested improvements to the gown that would be even more flattering, such as removing a strap to create a more elegant open back. My sister and husband are also getting their alterations from her, and we all had great, lighthearted conversation while she worked quickly and effectively through their appointments. Before I called Tailor Box, I first tried another tailor specializing in wedding alterations closer to my home for one of my dresses (we got married in a church a couple nights before our big reception celebration at a venue). While the work on the dress was nice, the experience was terrible. The seamstress was not nice and made me feel like a jerk for calling to check on my dress after five weeks of having it - all I had altered was the neckline. My experience with Christine could not be more different! She was kind and welcoming from the moment I first called to make an appt.
