Hello! Let me tell you the story of how our mother-daughter haunted tour date almost got ruined. My grandma bought my mom, my aunt, and me tickets for Amelia's Galena Ghost Tours at 6 p.m. There was nothing anywhere saying we needed to arrive early. We got there right at 6, parking directly behind the DeSoto house where the website said we would be meeting -- but there was no bus in sight. We started running around trying to find it, even went to their store, only to find the door locked and no one around. About 20 minutes later, my mom called to explain that we had arrived on time but no one was there. The lady on the phone said they had waited 20 minutes for us, looked for us, and then left. But if she had really been waiting, we would have seen her -- and definitely would have seen the bus! When my mom asked if we could move to the 7 p.m. tour instead, the lady said no because she "can't just give up the empty seats," and she wasn't very kind about it either. Eventually, she texted us later saying we could join the 7:30 p.m. tour for free. We decided to wait at a nearby restaurant and have a drink before the tour. We left around 7:12 to find the bus, got on, and they departed at 7:20. (10 minutes early) Our tour guide, Emily, was great -- she was super sweet and friendly. The driver (maybe the boss?) didn't seem as welcoming; she never spoke to us once and only talked during the investigation at the haunted house they own. read more

My family recently experienced the Amelia Ghost Tour (on the van) through Galena Illinois. Unfortunately, I did not read any reviews before the tour. If I had been more proactive, I would have avoided spending time and money on this tour. My family of 6 was over $200... definitely not worth the money. After the tour, I sat down to write/read the reviews. Each negative review repeatedly said the same thing, so I decided not to repeat what has already been said. Apparently, these negative reviews have not made any difference because nothing has changed. I guess I just don't understand how a company can be satisfied knowing so many customers are dissatisfied. read more

I wanted to love this but I just couldn't. The first sign something was a little off was when the driver and tour guide first arrived. Apparently whoever booked our tickets didn't give them adequate notice, and they weren't afraid to let us know. I finally said something about cancelling and they got much better after that. The first part of the tour was interesting and fun. The tour guide dressed the part and it was great. They showed us sights around town and explained which were haunted, then they took us to a cemetery which was gorgeous at night. It all fell apart when we went to the miner's house. The guide gave her talk, answered questions, then started "talking" to the spirits using divination rods. It was pretty cool at first, but it just went on and on to the point she was asking the "ghosts" about their bathroom habits. It was awful. Clearly, the owner is in it only for the money. Horrible guide. Even the driver acted like we were a burden.

I left a message on Saturday after our tour and again Tuesday. Also emailed on Monday in case that was a better way to communicate with someone. We were only taken to one location and the tour was LESS than 1 hour long. I nicely brought this up at the end of the tour and the guide talked very quickly, jumped in the bus and shut the door after telling me to call the number. During the tour the guide talked super fast and was hard to understand. When at the cottage she used the radio thing and twice I explained that I did not understand what we were listening to/for. She never explained, just carried on as though she did not hear me. During the whole time in the cottage she kept yawning as if she was bored with the whole tour. Very unprofessional for the whole tour and afterward. 100% waste of money! read more

We were on a little get away and our 13yr old daughter asked if we could do a ghost tour so we set out to set something up. We were staying at a hotel on the edge of town and saw a huge house with a sign in the front yard of the house next door with the name Amelia's Ghost Tours and a little bus with the same name on it in the back drive so my husband and daughter went to the door to ask about it and the lady who answered the door was kind of rude and said we were in the wrong place their office was downtown however it was closed at that time and he should go on line and book it. He didn't want to book it based on his interaction with her but our daughter asked if could please do it. We booked the tickets and took the tour. The driver and the "guide" were very entertaining and we had a very nice time with them. We were very thankful they were both wearing masks and practicing social distancing. We were able to use several different pieces of equipment that really entertained the 13 year old. It was a nice evening and we were thankful we didn't let the 1st impression of the rude lady put us off and thankful she wasn't part of the tour. never got a confirmation email. got a phone call on a Sunday from a number, not the number on the web site, identifying them as an employee of Amelia's Ghost Tours asking me to call. I called, never heard back. called the number on the web site. person who answered said I didn't receive an email because it was probably sent to the wrong one. then backtracked when I said we couldn't attend and requested a refund. miraculously she found that i did get an email. I checked my in box/junk/ trash folders. found emails from other businesses in Galena that i had booked on the same day but nothing from Amelia's. She could not explain why I got a call, who called me or why the number was not the one on the web site. buyer beware. did not get a refund even though I did not get a confirmation email. read more

We did the bus tour. I dunno, after reading all the other reviews, I feel like I might be being a bit too generous with 4 stars... but I did enjoy the tour. I came with the expectation of it being a more historical tour with a little paranormal stuff sprinkled in. I'd say that's about right. Our tour guide was Kayla (sp?) I know one of the other reviews refers to her. They were bothered by her; my husband was also put off; I didn't mind. I took it all as a theatrical performance and was cool with it. I would agree that the bus whizzing by all these places was a bit awkward, because you don't really get a chance to settle your eyes on the building to at least have it as a point of reference. Again, I guess I took it more as the Cliff's Notes version of a tour, so I'm not disappointed. Anything that really sticks out to you, you can always go and explore again on your own or with a more in-depth tour. What was very cool was using EMF detectors, the SB-7 Spirit Box, the REM Pod, and sure, why not, the dowsing rods. Don't expect a response prompted on command from tours that happen multiple times a day, every day; it's not how the paranormal works. So don't take it all too seriously and you won't be disappointed. I've never gotten a chance to see or use these tools before so that was a novelty. Also, visiting the old mansion was cool. But really, if I'm being honest, the best part of the tour was the cat, Maggie, in the mansion. Such a sweetie! I would agree with another reviewer's observation, after reading it, that the plastic box of tools against the old-time costume was a bit awkward. Some finessing here and there wouldn't hurt. If I had to pay for my toddler to go on the tour, I would balk too and probably refuse the tour just on principle. So yeah... 3 1/2 stars? I enjoyed it. Just try it. Or not. read more

We felt like taking the bus tour after dinner one day. The storefront was all closed up even though the signs said they were open. We called the phone number and they said they were only taking orders over the phone. After a lot of back and forth we were able to get a couple seats on the upcoming tour. It had to be one of the most uncomfortable tours I'd ever been on. I thought it was bad enough that the guide seemed bored most of the time, but she dragged things on just to make sure we didn't end the tour early. When she asked for participants to try out ghost hunting techniques and no one stepped up to the plate she just stared at us in uncomfortable silence until someone stepped up. This happened many times. I've been in many ghost tours before, and this was the only one I've ever wanted to get off of as soon as possible. read more

Sure wish I had checked the Yelp reviews ahead of taking this tour. Terrible ghost tour, a complete waste of time and $72.00. Summary of trip. The bus drives around the downtown area and never really stops moving while the guide rambles on and on about random subjects. We never knew what building or who she was talking about. The guide also attempts a fake British accent which makes it very difficult to understand her. We stopped at the old grave for 20 minutes and then stopped at some old house where we stayed for more than 30 minutes. Totally boring. read more

My husband and I went to Amelia's for an old time photo. I have never done one before and didn't really know exactly what I wanted to wear or poses I wanted. The woman did guide me with clothing and which set to chose (bar scene or victorian couch), but I had to ask to get options of a few dress options versus just picking the first one she offered. Overall, we like how our picture turned out ultimately, but I did feel a bit rushed and it would have been nice to have more guidance and options with choosing outfits and accessories. The owner did mention that they are opening a dinner theater that will do murder mystery, etc. and I think that sounds really cool and would also like to return to do a ghost tour. It just seemed like perhaps the old time photos are more of an afterthought or annoyance for them. read more

My boyfriend and I spent a weekend in Galena and last minute decided to try Amelia's Ghost Tour. Because it was cold, we did the shuttle tour. After reading mixed reviews, we were concerned it wasn't going to be a great experience. However, when we were out we asked a couple of locals who advocated for the experience. All things considered we had a great time! We stopped at a cemetery and a historical house and Kyla, our guide, gave us tools to contact the ghosts! It was a more interactive experience than we had originally anticipated and while we went in with low expectations due to the reviews, I have to say it was a fun time! The only down side is that the $68 for 2 people was kind of pricey, but as are most things in tourist areas. If you're looking for a fun nighttime activity to do in Galena, I would recommend! read more

When you go on a ghost tour, you typically expect two main things. One, you're going to get to hear a lot of local history. And two, some kind of a scare...whether natural or planned. This tour was filled with cool stories and loads of information, but had zero scares or even tension. The tour had two stops, a graveyard and a mansion. I found it slightly irritating that we were told repeatedly not to walk in certain areas or touch things and then minutes later, we see the driver moving barriers and walking around in the same rooms we were told not to go into. The guide even told stories of past tours where they had taken groups upstairs, but then we were not taken there. You could also clearly here a radio or tv playing on the upper floor, like someone was living there or just hanging out. This was one of the most disappointing tours I've been on and definitely not worth the price. read more

We had a great time at Amelia's while visiting Galena. We bought tickets for comedy show Daryl Moon and the Screwlywed game show. My husband and I participated in the game show, and it was fun! The food at Amelia's was included in our ticket purchases and was pretty decent. My husband had the chicken marsala, and I had the filet. I can't comment on the Ghost Tours as by the time we looked into them they were sold out. My Son and I had a big vacation planned for this year, but thanks to Covid-19... our vacation got canceled. We decided to make the best of a bad situation by trying to find some fun stuff to do at the last minute. This is a lot more difficult than one would think. Yesterday we ended up in Galena by chance. I'm part of a paranormal investigation team and my son loves Ghost Tours, so we thought we would see if they had any tickets available for that night. Unfortunately they were sold out. However the woman working made mention they do a dinner theater... a murder mystery. Okay, that sounds like fun and appealed to my inner love of looking into cold cases and serial killers. I asked if they had any availability. This was about an hour and a half before the show started. She checked with the chef and told us that if we ordered the pork and filet they could squeeze us in. I looked to my son and he thought it sounded fun. She said it was fine dining, and I about backed out since all we had with us to wear was shorts and t-shirts, but she assured us we'd be fine. So I paid. I'm really glad I did. First. The food was amazing. It starts out with a standard salad with Ranch Dressing and a nice crusty roll. I had the filet and it was tender, juicy, cooked exactly how I ordered it. The mashed potatoes and the mixed vegetables where perfectly cooked. My son had the Pork and he raved about it. Sure, impressing a 17 year old boy with food doesn't take much, but it's been over 24 hours and I keep hearing about how tender and delicious the pork was. Desert was a chocolate mousse with strawberry garnish. All of it was delicious. The fun part was the show. Now I'm going to apologize as I cannot remember his name, Scott.. Jason.. did a fantastic job. The show is basically a one man show loosely based on real cases. We saw a show based on Belle Gunness. He uses volunteers from the audience to play parts and provide information to the viewers. The interaction was fun. It was a great time. My son and I talked about the show the whole ride to our hotel in Dubuque and then again this morning. The staff was friendly, helpful, and all around pleasant. They made a fun memory for my son and myself. Their assistance also helped salvage a vacation that could have been disastrous. Thank you! Just some tips! When you pay for your tickets that includes the price of the meal and the tip. During the dinner drinks are separate. They have a full bar along with wine and beer. You can pay cash or card at the end of the meal for beverages. I'd recommend bringing cash with to help with smaller sums and/or to expedite the check out process if you are in a hurry. read more

I LOVE ghost tours. They are my absolute favorite. And I HATE giving bad reviews. That's my all-time NOT favorite. But I have to make some suggestions here. Our tour guide was a young woman who was very insecure, talking from a very rehearsed script, and in a weird voice and accent which could not have been her real ones. She needs to be more down to earth and more herself. Her obvious discomfort affected our whole group. She was hard to understand and even harder to listen to when you could understand her. I understand that she's dealing with some things, but even then she could make some small changes and be a lot more fun. SKIP THE PROPS. It was awkward watching her walk around with this GIANT plastic box all night long. It not only clashed with her period costume, but it was unwieldy and we all know that the dowsing rods and other "ghost hunting" tools are phony. Nobody could get them to work except her, so obviously she was cheating. ALSO - for the love of Pete - do NOT attempt to "contact" dead relatives of the people in your group. You said something about a "letter P" and it ended up being this woman recently passed father. She was visibly upset for the rest of the tour. That's not fun. Nobody wants to talk to their dead relatives on a ghost tour. And you're not even really talking to their dead relatives, just picking out a random letter that someone identified with. Please stop doing that. Slow the buses down. Driving by someplace at 30mph and talking about it, while most of the people on the bus can only get a glimpse of it, is weird. I've been on bus tours before, they kept the time on the bus to like 5 min between stops, and they had copy to talk about the whole time, or at least good ad libbers. I'd prefer to actually get rid of the buses altogether. The mansion visit and the cemetery visit are both awkward and forced. You get herded into these tight, confined areas where you have to stay, since there is no official access to the cemetery and because the mansion is someone's actual home. I've been on plenty of walking tours where they worked locations in that were further away than you could walk, but focused on the area around us. Also, the owner is kinda rude. I mean, she's in a honey pot there, and will continue to make money hand over fist. But if she were in an actual competitive market, her personality would have shut the place down long ago. There's not much of a suggestion here, just maybe have her not talk to customers? read more

The tour goes incredibly fast, the loading zone was unclear, and it felt like the most scripted experience I've ever had. Keep in mind, it was $32 a PERSON. They give you a phone number to call if/when you get lost getting to the loading zone. We called because we were walking around in the dark and very confused. Only for someone to answer the phone and basically talk to us like we are morons. "It's in your confirmation email.... How can you not find it?" And then we see an unmarked white van to find out that was our shuttle. No one waiting to make sure we were in the right place or anything. Honestly, save your $32 and do pretty much anything else. And we love paranormal activity. This is not to discredit the stories they tell, but man for $32 just to be hauled around in the dark with stories that move so quick you can barely understand them. read more

My husband and 2 young sons and I went to the store today around 4 pm with hopes of taking an old time photo to give to his dad for Christmas. When we opened the door, we heard a woman yell/snap "WE'RE CLOSED". My husband pointed out the the sign on the door said "open" and said he'd flip it to say "closed". The store owner then followed us out on to the sidewalk, where she yelled at my husband to not be an a**hole to her. She said her store had just been burglarized, and she didn't need him to turn the sign to say closed. He responded by saying that we were about to be paying customers. She responded by saying "get the fu** off my property. PSYCHOS" ... so obviously I very much didn't appreciate her going off the deep end and using foul language in front of my kids. We understand she was having a very bad day, but no reason to take it out on customers, and certainly uncalled for to lose it in front of children. I was actually scared because she seemed completely unhinged. We also did the ghost tour yesterday. Originally they told us we'd have to pay full price ($30) for our 4 month old and 1.5 year old. Obviously we declined. They then called back and told us we could pay $10/kid. Still ridiculous to pay for kids under 2, particularly an infant, but we decided to pay the fee because we thought it'd be fun. It was a pretty cool tour. We really liked our tour guide, Jay. He was charismatic, enthusiastic, and genuinely interested in telling us the history of Galena, the Ryan mansion, and showing us the drowsing rods. He was also patient with our toddler and infant, which we really appreciated. Regardless of our good experience with the tour, the experience today with the shop owner cussing and yelling at us in front of our kids definitely soured our taste for Amelia's Galena Ghost Tours. There are other ghost tours in town; we recommend you give your business to them. read more

Ghost tours aren't really my thing but since I have never been to one I thought why not! Our guide was a good speaker and provided interesting stories. It's hard when you don't believe in ghosts to buy into it. If anything it was nice to drive around and see different areas of Galena. We stopped at a cemetery and an old house. You cannot enter the cemetery so don't expect to be walking around in one. I felt the stop at the house was way too long. I was getting really bored at that point. They provide tools to detect ghost and even try to speak with them. For Galena, it's something to do but I don't think I will be going on anymore ghost tours. read more

We went on this tour and it was the worst I have ever been on! It was incredibly boring and the tour guide was not interesting at all. We had limited time at all locations. I would have had a much better time saving the $36 and watching Ghost Adventures in bed! I mean at least try to make it spooky! read more

If I could give them Negative stars I WOULD! We have been on haunted tours all over the US and a couple during the pandemic, they were all down sized and made sure people were able to stay 6 feet apart . This tour is an absolute unsafe joke. We pulled up to the location I was expecting a decent size tour bus this was a 14seat van. This company seriously thinks it's safe to sit 14 people shoulder to shoulder in this van. We got in and I immediately started thinking there is NO way they are going to pack this van, I couldn't be more wrong! They crammed us all in. I start thinking I should get off but against my better judgment I did not because I knew how much my family wanted to go on this tour. The tour starts and sure enough someone starts continually coughing. About eight minutes in we stop at a cemetery and I decided we will not be continuing. I wait to the rest of the customers walk away and inform the driver we will not be continuing that it was unsafe and I would like a refund. We rode about 8 mins in what's supposed to be a 1 hour and 45 min tour. I hope that the driver IS NOT the owner because she was so RUDE! As soon as I mention we will no be Continuing she showed her true colors! She told me that there was no one coughing. She started to then make up numbers by telling me 90 percent of people are vaccinated. As of the time of this post only 18.5 percent of people are vaccinated. She then proceeded to tell me that if you wear a mask you DONT HAVE TO stay 6 feet apart. According to the CDC ( you know the people who are experts )YOU SHOULD stay 6 feet apart EVEN WITH A MASK ON!! I took a picture of the plates and the car so I can report her to the company and she yelled out the window shouting that she was going to call the cops. At this point I was furious I then had an attitude back she said I needed to walk away to which I informed her it was public property. She then tried to tell me that she has some kind of permit that I couldn't be in that area. I get the need to run a business and I know there is always a risk of contact the virus while out but there are rules put in place so we can all be out and about pumping money into these small businesses. First of all, I would give this tour 0 stars if possible. We booked this tour for a girl's weekend. We were looking forward to a fun, haunted bus tour! However, we were sadly disappointed. When we came to downtown Galena, we found where the tour headquarters was located and went in to ask about where we need to be, time, etc, and we got serious attitude and they were rude. We also asked about Old Tyme Photos and were told "not doing that." When we got on the tour later into the evening, as we were getting on the bus, the driver and the tour guide were arguing. Highly unprofessional. It subtly happened throughout the entire tour. We were shown around the town and could barely see the buildings. Would have been cooler to get out and actually see what we were being told. We were also under the impression that we would be able to go into the cemetery - we were not. Doesn't make sense since it is a public area but whatever. The next day, a couple of us from our group went in to complain about the experience and we got even more attitude and were told we were drunk - which we were not. Very rude and bold accusation when it wasn't even remotely accurate. One person from our group had a glass of WATER with them and were told they were drunk. We are understanding, friendly people but this was the worst customer service I have ever seen and I am not exaggerating. Please work on your attitude and customer service :) read more

My husband, son, and I went here for the Murder Mystery Dinner. It's pretty pricey, so we were hoping for a great experience. Thankfully, we weren't disappointed. The food was amazing. I had the New York Strip medium rare, and it was delicious. My husband had the Mahi-Mahi and it was fantastic. (He did feel that the herb risotto was a little too salty.) Our son is a toddler, so we balked at paying for a child's ticket when we knew he would eat next to nothing. We called ahead before we booked the adult tickets and we were told we could bring our son at no charge. However, this might have been because we were 1) visiting in the off season, 2) booking for the same night, and 3) the number of bookings for that night was relatively low. Your mileage may vary there, but it is worth a call to check if you have younger children. This atmosphere is not extremely comfortable for very young children, but the dialogue was clean and they did have at least one high-chair. Our son was fussy at first but settled down and the rest of the evening went smoothly. If you have older kids, they would definitely enjoy it and would probably have a lot of fun trying to solve the mystery. We definitely recommend attending if you are in the area. read more

Recently went on Amelia's Ghost Tour (the shuttle bus) and was extremely impressed! We went on a Thursday night - booked our tickets a week in advance since it was my first time to Galena and wanted to be sure. We originally booked the 9PM tour, but due to a mini-emergency, had to cut our trip short. I was worried because it said no refunds/time changes multiple times, but called anyway just to see. They had no problem switching our group of 2 to the 7:30PM slot so we could make it out on time, great customer service! The shuttle was there promptly at 7:20PM with the other group getting out. Our guide was a young man (Jay, I believe?) and he had a great way of sharing stories and telling tales, I recommend him a million times over! We had lots of laughs and a great full group, so that helped as well. I wish the tour was longer, hence leaving off one star, since it was a little costly for a shorter trip, but still a great time regardless! We were able to use different 'ghost hunter' techniques and equipment. I actually used the dowsing (?) rods and possibly talked to my late father. Extremely touching and emotional, didn't expect that for sure! After going on this tour, I am definitely going to check out the other (Haunted Pub) tour next time I visit. I cannot believe I paid money to come on this tour. Our group of 6 was actually charged an extra $30 to go on this after our haunted pub crawled was cancelled with no explanation. Our tour guides were so boring and seemingly had NO idea what they were doing/talking about. Even if so, they had memorized a script - there were a ton of questions from the group with no acknowledgement. So like, I learned a really important fact about Galena from this tour: why Amelia's Ghost Tours Inc doesn't offer refunds. Because if they did, they would not be in business anymore. We did the pub crawl ghost tour this evening (Saturday night in July), and the second it started we knew this was just going to suck ass. The well meaning, but terrible guide, talk-yelled at everyone and asked all 25+ patrons to go around the room and say their name, where they are from, and a fun fact about themselves. No. I'm on a ghost tour in a historic and important town dripping with lore and myths. I don't give a flying fuck about Barbara from Green Bay??? Also, the guide spent most of the night talking about herself. As for the actual ghost stories and myths surrounding Galena..well that did not happen on this tour. What did happen was our guide spent an hour on a loud outdoor bar patio having the patrons play with dowsing rods. She would have the participants try and ask really uncomfortable questions about their deceased relatives and it was super awkward. Also, it was night time and we couldn't see the rods moving anyways. We dipped out after an hour and a half of this bullshit. I didn't go on a ghost tour to hear about someone's dead grandmother. Look, I've been to many ghost tours in many cities ranging from Chicago, to Boston, to Montreal, to New Orleans. I have NEVER been on a ghost tour as shitty and ridiculous as this one. And as expensive. Like I said, for a town as interesting and mysterious as Galena, this tour does not do it justice. Avoid this tour if you are actually looking on not wasting your time. Tldr; expensive, shitty, no discussion of any Galena historic ghosts. Find a different tour. read more

Very difficult to understand the tour guide, was unable to follow the stories being told, had no idea what buildings or houses we were supposed to be looking at because we never stopped moving. Would have loved to walk around the house more and not have sat in a circle watching the guide replace batteries on devices that didn't work for 10 mins. read more

NO CUSTOMER SERVICE I booked the Haunted Pub Crawl but our trip to Galena was postponed since my husband had to have surgery. I know that their web site says non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled. But I thought due to the circumstance, I would ask anyway. I sent numerous emails and tried calling over a 2 month period and never received a response. Our trip was rescheduled to this past weekend and I actually stopped in and asked about it again and left my name and phone number. I can't speak for the tour since we never got to take one but their customer service is very lacking. A response or an acknowledgement back from them would have been appreciated. read more

Very disappointing!! Our family has wanted to go on this tour for years....we finally achieved our goal. I purchased tickets for 8 in advance for Friday, July 21, 2017. Needless to say, the rain was so bad, the floodgates in Galena were closed! I called 7 times to ask what to do....no answer! (The torrential rains were supposed to make it spookier...really?) After calling 5 or 6 times, the following day...they agreed to fit us into a 4:30 tour. However, when 8 of us arrived, they only had room for 6! No worries, you'll receive a refund....NOT! We went for the murder mystery dinner. DO NOT GO! Amelia was incredibly rude. We walked into the "theater" the day before to get old time photos for our girls trip. She rudely informed us the second we opened the door "they were closed". When we showed up for the dinner, we were seated. Someone came by, took our drink order. We had prepaid $94 per person. We ordered sodas. Our "salad" came. It was a plate of lettuce. Our dinner came. It was cold, and had no seasoning. 2 salmons, 1 filet and 1 chicken dish. All 4 of us felt the same, cold/bland. The dinners were so poorly delivered that by the time we got them we were supposed to get up and ask around for questions. First, way too cramped to get up and move around to other tables. Second, we didn't want to leave our already cold food on the table while people were moving around the room. Then we couldn't eat because the tables that had been served were coming to ask us questions. Ok, time for dessert. 1 plain cheesecake piece, 1 bowl of bananas sliced with "fosters" sauce on it, 2 pieces of FROZEN banana cream pie. To be clear, it wasn't to be served frozen. Whatever. We then get a BILL. After paying $94 per person for the "meal" we were charged 4.50 for each soda/refill. Gratuity was to be included when we paid. Then we were told that was just on the food. We still needed to pay server/bar. Amelia said "if you can't afford to pay, don't eat out" This statement was made after I suggested at least inform us of refill cost. Amelia said this was standard at all restaurants in Galena. NOT TRUE AMELIA. We ate at Embe (excellent) Bread and Vine (delish) Vinny Vanucchi's (wonderful) Gobbie's (yummy) fried green tomatoes (scrumptious) and finally Dillon's (AMAZING local joint), not one of these restaurants charged for refills. read more

This tour was AMAZING. I'm not sure why there's so many bad reviews. Go in with an open mind and you'll have a great time! Our guide (I don't remember his name, Mark maybe?) was amazing. He told us a lot of history about some of the buildings and how they are haunted which was very interesting. He was very knowledgeable and made it fun. When we got to the mansion we had so much activity! Cabinet opening by itself, orbs in pictures, the spirit even talked through the machine multiple times! If I could post videos I would! Masks were required and distancing encouraged. Wayyyyyy underpriced in my opinion, it was amazing!!! 1000% coming back on another tour next year! read more

We called ahead to make sure there were sanitary regulations for covid, and were promised that masks were required and the us would be sanitized between tours. Neither of these things happened, and when we asked about cleaning the bus the guide was very rude. No refund was provided. read more

Don't waste your money- they take you to the cemetery and give you EVP devices but didn't pick up absolutely anything. Then they take you to the Ryan's Manshion and of course the voice box they use to pick up voices ran out of battery!!!!!! So she couldn't use that! If you know you have tours scheduled, wouldn't you have a charger or extra batteries?? Not worth it at all. read more
