We were on a little get away and our 13yr old daughter asked if we could do a ghost tour so we set out to set something up. We were staying at a hotel on the edge of town and saw a huge house with a sign in the front yard of the house next door with the name Amelia's Ghost Tours and a little bus with the same name on it in the back drive so my husband and daughter went to the door to ask about it and the lady who answered the door was kind of rude and said we were in the wrong place their office was downtown however it was closed at that time and he should go on line and book it. He didn't want to book it based on his interaction with her but our daughter asked if could please do it. We booked the tickets and took the tour. The driver and the "guide" were very entertaining and we had a very nice time with them. We were very thankful they were both wearing masks and practicing social distancing. We were able to use several different pieces of equipment that really entertained the 13 year old. It was a nice evening and we were thankful we didn't let the 1st impression of the rude lady put us off and thankful she wasn't part of the tour. Maybe if she doesn't want to be bothered she should put the office location and phone number on the sign.

It was awful. Clearly, the owner is in it only for the money. Horrible guide. Even the driver acted like we were a burden.

The two ladies are getting up there in age , so we thought the best way to see this city was by taking the trolley tour. The tour cost twenty dollars a person and lasts about one hour. Our guide was very informative about the history of this famous city. We drove by all the important historical homes and markers, while avoiding having to get in and out of the car , numerous times and having to do tons of walking. Parking can be an issue here. The city is also full of lots of hills. So this quick tour was right up our alley by saving us tons of walking and time while getting a more thorough understanding of this city. I highly recommend this tour for people trying to get the Galena experience without doing a ton of walking, searching for parking, and doing a bunch of in and out of cars.

The tour goes by all the tourist attractions - at a slow pace - through Main St and up the hill to the west of downtown. Then it crosses the river and goes east of downtown as well. There are several short stops - not to get off - but where the driver explains the significance of what we were seeing. The tour enables us to easily figure out what to see and do and where things are.

So, we called around 10:30 and no one picked up. And when we left a voice-mail, they called us back saying that they called last night, which they didn't. That they told us the itinerary, which they didn't. The tour was supposed to start at 11, but they started at 10 and they had already started without us. On the website it says it starts at 11 on Sundays. Did I miss something? I am extremely disappointed. I really wish that they actually called us ahead of time and left a voicemail and informed us that it was canceled or that they decided to take another group, so that we had alternative plans for this weekend. We are disappointed that we missed out on other potential outings due to the lack of communication. We were really looking forward to the tour honestly. Instead, we feel like they are gaslighting us to believe that we are in the wrong by saying we never picked up and that we would've gone on the tour had we answered. Trust me, we would've picked up had we received a call. If we received an apology for the lack of communication, I would gladly rescind this review. It's a shame how they choose to approach their customers. I'm sure it would've been very fun to go, but based on my experience, I can't recommend.

Great friends (with the "ugliest tree sweaters" in the attached photo) organized it for us, and it turned out to be one of the most fun and memorable experiences we've had! Devin was an outstanding host--knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely passionate about Galena's food scene. The tour was perfectly paced, the food stops were excellent, and the holiday twist made it even better. The ugly sweater theme added so much energy and laughter, and Devin leaned into it in a way that made everyone feel relaxed and included. What really made the experience special was the atmosphere. We went with great friends, had a blast together, and also met wonderful new people along the way. It felt less like a "tour" and more like a festive day out with friends--old and new. If you're looking for a fun, social, and delicious way to experience Galena--especially around the holidays--this tour is a must. We would do it again in a heartbeat and can't recommend Devin and Galena Foodie Tours highly enough.

I've been on food tours where they give you a few bites of something - not here, this was a super generous amount of food. Everything in this tour is connected to honey somehow. Classic things you know your'e going to like (honey lemonade yes please!), but unique things I wouldn't have tried on my own too. Everything was delicious. There was a full wine tasting at one of the stops, with I think 5-6 different wine/alcohol samples and a super educational explanation by the owner. And it finished with a honey tasting led by Dry Creek Beekeeping. That was really fun - I never thought honey could taste so different! And of course a glass of mead. And last but definitely not least, Devin the tour guide was extremely knowledgeable both about food and the history of Galena. It was part history tour, part food tour, and he was an awesome guide in both. He had such a natural way in front of the group, and was nice to chat with along the way too. This is a must-do tour during your visit. It was our family's favorite thing we did on our trip. Come hungry!!
