If I didn't use a credit card they would accept cash or western union transfer only which in both cases doesn't protect the buyer. Add to the chaos that AmeriFreight doesn't contact you and let you know about the change of customer service agent until you personally call and ask what the deal is! The car was supposed to be delivered on the 16th I called on the 16th nobody could get a hold of the driver I called on the 17th nobody could get a hold of the driver I was informed on the 17th that the driver had a 48-hour grace period nobody told me that. On the third day, past the 48 hour grace period the driver contacted me told me that he could not deliver the vehicle to my address which was communicated to me by SY that would be not a problem, the driver said meet me at the food Lion 10 miles down the road I was supposed to start work that day was my first day of work with a loss of 224.00.I had to call my boss and let him know that I wouldn't be in because the driver failed to follow his contract. The price initially was supposed to be 1,157 I believe at the last minute the price went up about $600 to about 1,800 and some change it was the last day I couldn't make any other arrangements with any other carriers it would take too long to get the quotes and to book something so I had to pay the extra to get the car shipped Sy knew that. I was starting like I said a new job the car was supposed to be here. I feel like I have been ripped off I feel like I was told what your customer service representative felt I needed to hear at the time to close the deal now hindsight 20/20 I hope you can make this right considering all the things I've just mentioned in this email. Amerifright quoted me less than $1,100 to ship my car from California to Massachusetts. After a week of trying to find a company that would take the job, they came back with a quote of around $1,700 including insurance. This ends up putting them at a higher rate than virtually every other reputable quote I received. Part of the reason for this seems to be that they take a larger cut than most brokers. I did a fair bit of research into different brokers and was impressed at AmeriFreight's ratings online. Then I found out in the contract for listing the car that every customer is required to submit a review. This explains their high marks as most businesses have lower ratings than actual customer perception due to the fact that happy customers are less likely to review than unhappy ones. As such, Amerifreight's stellar reviews are likely over-inflated compared to competitors that do not require all customers to rate them. read more

Lecia kicked butt and saved me a few hundred dollars! So....I did what everyone does and shopped around. I also made the mistake of posting my request through a website that sells your information to every single transport company. DO NOT DO THAT. I was bombarded with texts and calls for a week straight at all hours of the day. Some brokers would say other people are scamming me and it all just seemed so sleazy. After all the trouble I decided it would be worth a few extra dollars to have a reputable company handle this for me. I am so glad I chose AmeriFreight because once my driver left with my truck, he tried to strong-arm me and tell me it was overweight. This is a super shady tactic these drivers can use because they have your vehicle hostage and you can't really argue with them. I called Lecia right away who handled my work order from the very beginning. She got the driver on the phone with me and mediated the issue of these false weight claims. After an hour the drivers boss/dispatch called Lecia and said they would "waive" the overweight fee because they give them so much business. So I really appreciate Lecia taking my word for it and being trustworthy and understanding. Complaint Details My vehicle was picked up on on November 28th at 7:20pm. On this date the broker who we were speaking to was Melissa Dossett told us to have the vehicle ready by 3pm that it would be picked up. 3pm came around and we heard nothing for anyone and were trying to contact the company. Hours later after trying to contact the carrier multiple times not sure if there was going to be a pickup. We then received a call from the driver late at night when it was dark. My husband was told to drive the car onto the ramp of this trailer and had to get down off the ramp himself which seemed really risky. Communication up until this point was horrendous. They took our $350 deposit and then just left us in the dark. The remainder $2000 needed to be paid in cash upon drop off of the vehicle. We were told that there was a guarantee our vehicle would be dropped off on the 1st or 2nd of December in Virginia. The pick up was in Redding California to Virginia Beach. On Thursday the 1st we received a notification that the vehicle would be arriving on friday the 2nd and with little regard the company went dark and didn't notify us again until friday saying that the driver was stuck in Nebraska. That didn't make sense if we received an update the day prior that it would arrive tomorrow because thats more than a days travel. When we reached out to Melissa Dossett her response was "Our Job is Done" when we were trying to see how she would make this right. That was the last we heard from her. This company hasn't held to its core values that as a business they care about more than just the car. (Photo attached) We were nothing but a transaction nothing was relational at all. DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY. They are unbelievably unprofessional. I got a quote online and was immediately bombarded with emails, asking me to call them. Great, I was expecting above average customer service when I called. From my experience, I recommend that everyone stay away from them. I am busy with work all week. Today was the only day I had off during their normal business hours, so I tried to call them, over 7 times. I tried calling Whitney Galloway, my agent in the emails I had received, (678 number in attached picture), which always went straight to her voicemail. I'd then call the front desk number included in the emails. The first time I called, the front desk person realized that Whitney was my agent, so she told me she'd check to see if Whitney was available, and after 2 minutes, got back to me and said, she'd transfer me to Whitney now who should pick up. That went straight to voicemail again. When I immediately called the front desk back, they stopped picking up my calls. I then waited an hour or so, then tried calling Whitney again. When I did, I immediately got a text from her (see picture), saying that she was unavailable to take my call at the moment and telling me to text or email and she'd call me back. I waited 5 hours. No call, text, nor email. I then called the front desk and the person told me, Whitney was OFF TODAY and WOULD RETURN TO WORK TOMORROW. Something doesn't add up here. If she were off work, she would have told me so in the text herself. Also, the front desk person in the morning would have also told me that, instead of trying to transfer me to her after checking with her for a few minutes. So I told this front desk person in the evening (either Jesse or Bobby - information I received from calling a different corporate number and talking to another staff tonight) to get me another agent who was currently available to talk to me, because I don't want to work with Whitney anymore. She said, OK let me check...then guess what, she transferred me to Whitney again, and of course, voicemail. I tried calling back immediately to see what's going on, and they deliberately did not pick up the phone (which was why I looked up a different corporate number to call.) Unbelievable. I understand if a business is busy or short-staffed or whatnot, but do not repeatedly lie, transfer me to the person when I had asked for someone else, then many times would not pick up after I immediately called back because they didn't want to come up with an excuse for what had just happened. Can't imagine what their shipping experience would be like, when I couldn't even get a rational, professional person to talk about a simple quote. read more

First of all, the business of shipping a car is completely stressful and last minute. I believe it is the same no matter which company you use. It is pretty much the wild west and the role of these companies is to make sure the driving companies honor their commitments and contracted price etc. I hopefully will never have to do this again, we will see! Initially I ran into some issues with the driver trying to charge me extra money on top of the agreed upon price. I am giving them 5 stars because Bonnie Censullo and the management team went to work quickly and made sure the original agreed upon price was honored. Bonnie was excellent! They went above and beyond to make sure my car was delivered safely at the agreed upon price. In the end, the car was safely delivered, the timeframe was met by the drivers, and no extra charges were requested. The drivers were very polite on delivery, which I am assuming was the result of the conversation they had with Amerifreight. In a couple of hours I received a call from the Car Hauler and said he would pick it up the next day at 11am and deliver it to Albuquerque the next day. That's exactly what they did. It was delivered the next day about 2pm NM time. I couldn't believe it was so fast. I just found them online and they were highly rated online. Car Hauler called me the next day for an update when he was two hours out of Albuquerque and told me that he would deliver the car in two hours. Car Hauler charge $660 which was exactly the price they quoted. I would certainly recommend them. 800 mile delivery. If you want to may $500 more than your quote price to have your car delivered 2 days late by a driver who does not communicate, scuffs your car, dirties the interior, and is probably on drugs then book with Amerifreight. I was quoted $800 something to bring my car from TX to CA. Because of the price I signed to have Amerifreight post my car. I was quoted over $1200 total but took the offer anyways. A day before the car is supposed to be picked up, the driver/dispatcher does not reach out to me. I call and text multiple times and finally a dispatcher responds the day my car is scheduled for pickup to tell me that he will be there sometime "this afternoon". The afternoon rolls around, no communication, I have to reach out again to see when he is arriving only to be told that he will actually arrive sometime the next day. The next day rolls around, still not given an accurate range of time. The driver is coming from Houston to Austin in the morning and somehow it takes him until 9PM to pick up my car. The whole day no-one is communicating with me and I have to constantly reach out to the dispatcher and driver to get some kind of information. When he arrives he is unprofessional, in flip flops, it's just a truck with a trailer attached to the back and says my car will be delivered Friday which is in 2 days. Friday rolls around, and when I ask about my car he says it will actually arrive Saturday. Saturday rolls around and I have to again reach out to get an update on my car and I am told that it will arrive by 9am on Sunday. At 9:40AM on Sunday I had no contact from him or the dispatcher-not a call or text. I text him and he says he is outside of my place. I go outside of my place and he is nowhere to be found. The interior of my car is white and his hands are black with dirt and he had somehow touched and dirtied my front and passenger seats. He was frankly filthy all over and his behavior was extremely unprofessional, and it seemed like he was on drugs. Now I have to deal with filing an insurance claim and having my car fixed. I also have to have the interior cleaned. The tire pressure was also low on all of my tires- this could have been a coincidence but I am hoping that they don't have a leak from his handling of it. I just got more air in the tires and will know in about a week if my tires are ruined. I am also ordering a report for my Tesla to check the exact mileage on my car in the span he had my car because I would not be surprised if delays were caused by him stopping, doing drugs and going on joy rides in my Tesla. read more

After I complained, the rep explained that the price was increased, but ONLY after I made an issue of it. They tried to slip the pricing through without me noticing. This appears to be their normal business model - provide an unrealistically low quote to win the "job" and then jack it up at the last minute to increase profits. I didn't have any of the issues that some of the reviewers posted. I spoke to Richard' Roach, my Amerifreight representative, and he negotiated a very fair price competitive with all other companies. The price locked in and never changed. He also managed my entire car transport from the SF Bay Area to Denver. He kept in close communication with the trucking company. When the car was delayed by 48 hours on the delivery side, he made sure that they stepped up and delivered earlier. Richard acted as my agent and made the process seamless for me. Don't even call these people for a quote. They will give you what appears to be a bargain quote, then jack up the prices just as you're about to sign the deal. Here's how it happened to me: - I put in an online quote request to ship my car from New Jersey to California. It came about to about $1100, INCLUDING the broker fee. - When a sales agent (Cosmo Emeott) called me, he insisted that that rate wasn't actually doable because it's "high season" and I should expect to pay about $1500. This was still lower than quotes that I received elsewhere for around $1600, so I moved forward. - A few days later he calls me and tells me he has a carrier and it will cost me about $1500. Great! Sign me up. - Only as he's about to process my credit card and sign the deal does he tell me that the price doesn't include the broker fee, and that it would actually come out to over $1800! - So in the matter of a few days we went from $1100 to $1800+, a 64% increase in price. Scam! Run away! I got a quote from AmeriFreight on May 14, 2021 for $764. I get a call 1 week later, for a "carrier bid" of $1345. This is confusing. Almost DOUBLE the cost of the what I was quoted?! I was told by Jesse Hester that if I'm not in a pinch, I should wait for a lower bid. I waited and the next quote was $100 more at $1445. I asked to speak with a supervisor. A woman named Brady explained that during Covid these carriers weren't making money, so now they are recovering their costs by taking more money from the customer. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, she said that he would tell me the same thing, but if I needed to "vent", then I can go ahead and speak with the supervisor, Richard. Really? It doesn't sound like the care at all about the moral issue here of lying to people about the cost. They made more excuses. They explained that the carriers can charge whatever they want. Then, why bother giving people false quotes? These people are thieves. I spoke with Richard and he said he would TRY to get me a carrier for $1, 078 (still more than the $764 that was quoted), but I got a rate that was slightly lower than that elsewhere (guaranteed--no one would have to TRY to get that rate). The other company I found has better relationships with carriers and was able to book directly. No waiting for a "bid". I ended up canceling my order and booking with another company that booked the carrier immediately. They don't use quotes to mislead people. They just tell you what the best carrier rates are, when pickup would be and they booked it. Save yourself time and money by going somewhere else. read more
