We arrived at 7:00 am. We were greeted and checked in promptly. The lounge was quite busy and it was a mess. Almost every table, near an open chair, was covered in dirty dishes. We had to clear a table to have access to it. Everything, except the bar, is self serve. The hot items were good. A toaster is available to toast English muffin and bagels. They have a great coffee machine for self serve lattes and the like. It's a good spot for a long layover. But there is room for improvement. read more

Definitely worth a visit if you are eligible for access. A huge step above the Admiral's Club which is right next door. On this visit we had the pleasure of experiencing Flagship First dining which is a private, full-service restaurant within the Flagship Lounge. Flagship First dining exists only in Miami and DFW. The LAX Flagship First dining remains closed. Food and beverage options in Flagship First are definitely a step above the standard Flagship Lounge offerings including Laurent-Perrier Grand Siecle champagne! Many years ago, Flagship First had Krug champagne but sadly no more. The decor inside is classy and chic and service is impeccable and attentive. I wanted to try something small since I knew the flight would have a meal as well. I tried the crab cake which was excellent and the perfect size for a snack. Of course, I had the Laurent-Perrier champagne as well - truly outstanding! For dessert I had the poached pear which was delightful! I also had the Irish coffee, but this was much worse than the one I had experienced in DFW. There was neither a cinnamon stick nor whipped cream because they were apparently out of both. Oh well. First world problems! Anyway, definitely visit the Flagship Lounge if you are able and definitely, definitely try Flagship First dining if you get the chance! read more

For those flying in First or Business, or those with top tier status, the American Flagship lounge at MIA (near Gate 30) is a nice retreat. The staff are warm and friendly , and there is ample comfortable seating. The food options are disappointing, but Flagship customers also have access the standard American lounge too which sometimes has more appealing food options and everyday comfort deserts (like Brownies, rice Krispy treats or German cake). One of my favorite amenities of the Flagship lounge is the shower suites. I enjoy a nice shower before a long international flight (as well as the Arrivals Lounge in Heathrow for example, upon arrival). At the MIA flagship lounge if you arrive with sufficient time they will add your name to the list and typically a shower suite will be ready in about 30-60 minutes. Aside from the showers, it's really all the open seating I enjoy compared to the standard lounge which can get very loud and busy. read more

A decent Flagship Lounge. It's pretty sprawling, and I almost got myself lost trying to navigate (though some of that might have been due to be being tired from a transatlantic flight from Barcelona). They do have a nice quiet area with good seating, as well as other types of seating available. The food was fine-seemed a bit limited, both in options and in availability, as things were often running low. Maybe I came at an especially busy time and they had a hard time restocking? Drinks were quite plentiful, though, and self serve so easy to grab. It was warm in there, which again, after a transatlantic flight wasn't the most pleasant. It was also quite a hike (almost a 20 minute walk) from the club to my gate. A very nice lounge. It had a full open bar, a soft drink machine, cold beer and other cold drinks, a decent sized buffet (just ok), and lots of other snacks and drinks. We had several hours to kill at the airport, so it was a real nice break from the always active concourse. I wish they had more lounge style chairs, though. There were only six in the entire area. So I was back again, from an International trip and routed through Miami. I had only about two and a half hours before my connection to LAX. It was originally supposed to be over 4 hours (perfect for a relaxed lounge visit), but cut short by a flight delay and the slow and long line to go through security. Since I was not on a long haul flight, I had access to the Admirals Club. That lounge is disappointing and always very crowded. So I was willing to pay $150 for a little over 2 hours of better food and beverage. As I have said before, in terms of the selection of high end spirits, the Flagship lounge is amongst the best, even on the international stage. However, while their food selections (quantity and quality) are so much better than the Admirals club, it is still mediocre at best, if you compare lounges of international carriers at their home destinations. The general menu spread is similar to the LAX flagship lounge. There will be chicken, some type of fish, roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes or polenta, 4-6 salads, desserts, maybe a sandwich, etc. What is happening though, is that the flagship lounges are no longer a sanctuary for peace and quiet. I found the MIA lounge getting crowded. The servers did a good job of keeping the food choices replenished in a swift and seamless manner. The tables were cleaned almost immediately when passengers left. The lounge needs to be expanded to accommodate the increased traffic. And the seating, in general, needs to be upgraded to something more inviting and comfortable. read more

Even after all these years (see my reviews of the D15 and D30 Admirals Clubs), Miami continues to be the airport of dusty lounges. The good: -This Flagship Lounge is quite spacious, with lots of different seating areas. That said, the seating is pretty old and tired looking. -That concludes the good. The not so good: -The food is not Flagship Lounge quality. The "jerk chicken" is legitimately just roasted chicken, and everything the potatoes and salad were very much 3 out of 5 stars. It's fine, but not anything particularly flavorful or thoughtful. The grits looked like they had been there for ages. -There is a random emergency light blinking every second in a pretty large portion of the lounge, and I guess it's not a big deal because none of the staff seem bothered by it. It's like a strobe light in your eye. -Cleaning here was limited. Dirty plates and glasses all over the place. I recognize that I came during the last hour of service, but really... Is this better than sitting at the gate? You bet. Is it better than, for example, a Centurion Lounge? That's a negative. read more

A great place to rest and recover before the next long flight. There is a good amount of seating and a variety of places to recharge. Lots of options for food and this past time I saw an omelette bar. The interior is clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. We got to try a few dishes here including the crab cakes, grilled shrimp, and chocolate dessert. The cocktails were really good as well. Wow! Huge with multiple seating everywhere. There are also lots of windows to view several outdoor scapes of the airport as well as indoor. They actually serve food here! Small salad bar with some southwest chicken (hot plate) mmhmm. There is a Coca Cola machine with a lot of options on there for soda beverages. Soup and cheese on a separate station. I got the tomato bisque, done very well! Put some pita chips in it and made it extra! They serve La Colombe coffee as well as several options like cappuccino, latte etc on the express machine. Milk, oat milk and half and half. Small dessert section with bits of brownie, rice crispies and this other cake thing. Showers are 30 min a piece, comes with shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body lotion and hair dryer. They give you all the towels you need for one person. Awesome hot water that never seems to end! Omg worth the money or free if you have a card/membership at a higher tier. Definitely make your long layovers here. read more

Well, part of being delayed multiple days when traveling to Israel, is you get to spend a lot of time in the airports, and if you have lounge access, it can be really nice. As you can see from the multiple lounge reviews. Not surprised that Miami had a flagship lounge, and that it was as nice as the other ones in the big cities. I arrived Miami 7am from Tel Aviv after a 13 hour flight to Miami. Was amazed at how fast I flew through customs with my global access. Was through in 15 minutes and in the "Flagship" lounge with 3 hours to spare. This one was as nice as the Philly one, and same layout, except they had an omelette station, and the server doing the omelettes was fantastic. I am sure the Philly one had one as well, but I wasn't there in the morning. Considering all the delays, and how upset I am with American Airlines right now, the status and lounge service was great, and reason probably why I still fly with them. read more

Spent a descent amount of time in the lounge on both legs of our trip. It was really nice to have access to this lounge. I like it much better than the regular Admirals Club next door. I think that the amenities and seating is much more comfortable 5han the regular lounge. The Wi-Fi worked very well during my time here. I also took advantage of the showers and they were nice and clean. HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you need to refresh. The food options were good and very tasty. On my journey back home from Medellin, I had an unexpected overnight layover in Miami. After having spent a comfortable night in Brickell, I took an uber to Miami Int'l Airport several hours before my flight back to LA boarded. Since I had so much time to kill, I decided to hop into the AA lounge. I proceeded to pay for a day pass, and was pleasantly surprised to find that I had more than enough points to grant access for that day. I went ahead and made the transaction, and I took the elevated upstairs to the lounge area. The lounge was somewhat crowded, but it still had a decent number of seats open. I was able to grab a chair close to a TV, and I ate some split pea soup and sipped on espresso while I watched a tennis match. After a short while, I was informed that they were serving more food, so I went to get a plate of meatballs and a side salad. I also got more coffee, which tasted pretty good and packed a punch. I hopped into the restroom for a bit before heading back to the terminal to catch my flight. I noticed that this place is kept impecably clean, and the workers are constantly making sure the clients are well taken cared of. My only complaint is that the wi-fi was not working well. This meant that I couldn't take care of business I had pending. But it was not terribly urgent, however, so I only doc one star for this. If I had known that there were showers here, I would have brought a spare change of clothing. It would have been nice to take a hot shower before my flight to relax more, but I did shower that morning at my hotel, so no biggie. All in all, this is a great lounge. It's comfy, spacious, and they serve good food and coffee here. They just need to make sure the internet is working, and they will be a five-star establishment. read more

I have never seen anything like this before. My husband and I travel often and have been to many lounges. I have absolutely never experienced such rudeness. We walked in and Jamie at the front desk doesn't say hello or any greeting.She just stares at me. I am at a loss. I say Hello and ask what is needed. She said her throat her hurt and says "boarding pass" Then calls me passive aggressive. I wish I had time to ask for the manager. This woman should not be in customer service. Not an Admiral Club member, but I was flying First/Business Class for work and had an opportunity to visit the lounge. It was a very smooth admission process for not being a member and the service desk/members were very hospitable. There is plenty of seating areas throughout the lounge, but I decided to sit at the bar. They had an extensive drink menu and some wine/spirits/beer options were complimentary. The snack bar was fully stocked and all dining areas were frequently cleaned. The restrooms were much much nicer (and cleaner) than that of the standard airport bathrooms, so I would definitely use them in the lounge before boarding. As for the dining options, I was recommended by the bartender to get the Cuban sandwich because, "hello...Miami, you have to get it". I had doubts being that we were in an airport lounge, but let me tell you, it was great! It did not disappoint and it definitely hit the spot. Overall, I had a great experience in this lounge and next time I'll try to spend a little bit more time and explore all the other amenities. read more

I had a long layover flying back home from the Cayman Islands flight and went through Miami. Wandered into the American Airlines lounge. You can get a 24 hour pass for $79 or if you have miles you can use your miles to enter. I ended up using my miles and it ended up being around 7,900. You take an elevator up and you have plenty of seating and room for you to lounge in. The pass includes all you can eat food and drink. The food is your basic buffet. They offered jerk chicken and some meat cheeses while I was there. There are TV's and charge stations all over. You also have access to restrooms and showers. They will have special events going on from time to time. When I was there they had a guacamole bar you can take part in. If you plan to have a long layover and want to relax in comfort this airport lounge has plenty of amenities. read more

Wow I'm an Admirals Club "Lifetime Member" and I've been to their lounges all over the country and many places around the globe yet flying Transcontinental yesterday offered me the ability to try out the Flagship lounge for the 1st time and boy is it special. Look I love AA and their regular admirals club especially at MIA their hub they are well taken care of but this is without a doubt a big step up. Spacious with multiple outlets and little areas for privacy. Bathrooms immaculate, massive food buffet with made to order eggs etc, beverage & coffee machines and an clean modern look that makes the entire thing come together. Food was fresh and appetizing while the staff was friendly and accommodating. Obviously this will not be the norm as I rarely fly these routes but I certainly was impressed with my 1st visit to this establishment. read more

We visited Flagship Lounges in Dallas and Miami this month. The DFW lounge was spacious, food was very good and all was calm. Huge self service bar and lots of comfortable chais. By contrast Miami was crowded with a very awkward layout. Food choices were more limited and not the quality we expected. Serving dishes of picked over food were on the buffet, it was not refreshed as often as they should. Overall DFW provided a relaxed oasis at the airport while the Miami lounge was hectic. To be fair, we visited DFW in the quiet of early afternoon and Miami in evening. Perhaps that affected the experience. read more

I've been an Admirals Club member for years, and had my very first opportunity to go to the Flagship Lounge on my last trip. If you've been to the Admirals Club, the Flagship Lounge is touted to be everything that the Admirals Club is, and more. Although after my experience, I have to say I am very happy with, and actually prefer the Admirals Club over the Flagship Lounge. Here's why: while the selection of premium alcohol and wines are complimentary, it is a self-serve bar. It's just my own personal preference to have a bartender pour my drinks. Your experience and preferences may vary. The complimentary food selections are indeed a moderate upgrade from the Admirals Club offerings. Kudos. The website does mention "personalized service", however, I didn't observe this at all. I was there for 1.5 hours and didn't see a menu, nor did any staff pass by to offer one. I don't know if this lounge offers food to order, or even what the website means by stating "personalized service" with a photo of staff appearing to provide some sort of attention to patrons. After 1.5 hours, I left to return across the way to the Admirals club for my final 30min of my time where attentive bartenders pour drinks (only house spirits and wines are complimentary), offer menus, and there is food to order if the complimentary selections are not enough. Let me start by saying it's a really nice place to relax, work, drink high quality drinks and enjoy a decent meal... Problem is that a woman with 2 dogs a German Shepard and a yorkie decided to eat from the food counter with her dogs leashes hooked on her belt... While she chose her food items, her dogs proceeded to sniff and lick plates below.. the larger dog was able to sniff the top of food counter... Worst part? Not one of the flagship staff said anything.. actually interacted with her in a friendly way... So her older lady companion came later as well with the yorkie... Then other lady took yorkie in her arms and proceeded to take more food... Suspect more than one dog hair or two fell in the food... The club looks nice and bathrooms are nice but they did not let us into the club because there were supposed, " too many people." But when one of the kids went upstairs to go to the bathroom, there was barely any people. There were only 20-25 people at least which definitely doesn't reach capacity. Literal no on to welcome in! Terrible staff experience all around in Miami. Except for the baggage claim customer service late night shift. Came back today to follow up on check bagged problems continue my journey after delayed a day a got a completely different response from the check in desk. Literally supervisors were lying to my face and telling me falls information after last night witnessing actual information on their screen. Asked for a supervisor and got blown off as they could not help. Then get to the lounge and ask for a supervisor. Apparently this place runs like a military establishment and to speak to a supervisor requires I repeat my issues multiple times to multiple people. Worst I have not been offered water and asked to wait in the front for over an hour now with no updates. I might as well be sitting in the terminal. Terrible customer service. This entire airport needs a leadership. Dallas was extremely pleasant even with server flight disruptions. Miami they all look depressed and wanting to leave as soon as possible. Bring the Dallas team here to show them good customer service! Finally if you use shower #1 the water runs out of the shower all over the rest of the room. read more
