They came and "did their service" which clearly states many things they're doing but explicitly - check capacitor - check drain pump They come and leave and say all is good in the same day. About a week goes by we get this absolutely foul inhumane smell in the house. After hours of searching we find our drain pump to be not working and overflowing causing the smell some how. Next to our existing drain pump is a brand new in the box drain pump and a brand new electric meter. We call this company to ask why this was left here and why we weren't informed there was an issue. We're harshly told that there was no issue and that they didn't leave that pump there and that's not their meter and that since we have a backup pump to swap the pump ourselves as it's our problem The brand new pump wasn't ours it was left there by the tech they sent out to do the "work". We're now left with some ruined carpet and water damage mitigation rental equipment on our dime due to their mess up. Now let's fast forward another week where our AC stops working. We of course call another company to come since this company is incompetent and of course the issue is the run capacitor that they got paid to inspect completely full to the top with a mouse family. Along with the capacitor issue they said they're checking the wiring and half the wiring in the capacitor cubicle is deteriorated and the insulation is at the end of its life. We were looking to rewire some knob-and-tube that was discovered during a MassSave assessment. The…read moreelectrician who did the assessment was thorough and mapped out the circuits and the loads - essentially, put together a work scope. We used this work scope to get estimates from multiple electrical companies. We got a total of 4 estimates, of which JP McCurdy was one. The other three electricians did a quick visual inspection to make sure the work scope was accurate and provided estimates. They did not charge for this. But JP McCurdy insisted that they would do their own assessment and would not accept the work scope we provide. They said they would charge $250 for this. This charge wasn't mentioned in the initial phone call when I scheduled the assessment. If they had, I wouldn't even have scheduled it. But they called me the morning of the assessment and said that there would be a charge and required a credit card. I was having scheduling issues with the other electricians and wanted to have options (McCurdy said they can start pretty much right away), so I agreed. When their assessors arrived, I provided them a print out of the work scope and mentioned that their office said they would do their own assessment. But the McCurdy assessors said the work scope looks detailed and so they don't need to their own assessment. They spent fewer than 5 mins at my property - less time than the other 3 electricians. When I called the office to dispute the charge on the basis that they accepted our work scope and didn't perform their own assessment, I was stonewalled. But eventually I was passed on to John McCurdy (owner?), who again argued that the charge was their policy. Eventually he said he will refund part of the charge. I have waited 1 month for this refund to appear. But this hasn't happened. Furthermore, they were the most expensive of the 4 quotes, by a lot. Overall a really terrible experience. These guys are unethical and dishonest. Avoid them at all costs.

They really saved us after we were swindled by another operation. They were very patient with us and walked us through each step of the process.
