American builders was recommended by a friend after I expressed my concern for getting a fair price for rocks, gravel basically landscaping material. I have had the pleasure to work with David at the Sun Valley location he has been so kind and patient with me it can be intimidating walking into a mans world but I never was made to feel unwelcomed. I wanted to see a what some rocks looked like in person but the facility did not have them in stock so David asked me to leave my number and he would get some samples form another facility and call me , he did the next day... I ended up with Baja Cresta rocks they are stunning much better the plain old Granit I also went with crushed red brick my yard is going to look awesome . the parking is tight and the facility is in a heavy industrial area ( of course ). I only wish their website showed more available merchandise I like to shop on line to get a feel of what out there. The prices are fair and so is the delivery charge... read more

We are extremely happy with our experience with American Builders Supply in Santa Clarita. They have recently changed there name to Site One but the service was still superb. I was not sure what I wanted so I was there several times. Chino, Luis and Jose were very helpful and educated me through the process of picking out stone/coping. I recently bought numerous bags of Mexican beach pebbles and ¾" crushed gravel. Chino, the manager, patiently listened to my concerns about correctly estimating the number of bags of pebbles I needed, and after I bought the first bag, he opened it and spread the pebbles over a pre-measured area. The price was very competitive and the delivery was on time. They also don't have a deposit on the pallets, which was a terrific convenience because they wouldn't fit in my car to return them. read more

I was in need of sand for our son's sand box - quick research turned up that we needed to stay away from silica sand, as the silica based sand is poisonous, especially to little ones. Finding a few local options to buy sand, ABS was the first one to ask why I needed the sand, and point out that they had non-sllica based sand which was the only appropriate sand for a child's sand box. The service was great - you'd think they were selling jewelry by the type of attention they gave. Once I picked the sand, they loaded up my truck and it was by far the best value of all the options I found. Thanks ABS! read more

This place is a rip off, don't let them calculate simple cubic feet into cubic yards they will double what you need, and not own up to their mistake. Home improvement isn't easy, so if you need to depend on a business to help you, they don't. read more

They rock (pun intended)! We are having a pretty elaborate pool built and my wife and I are pretty demanding and indecisive. Steve was very patient in helping us pick the stone as we changed our minds several times, still very patient and helpful. In fact, the final time we changed our mind and showed him an alternative option, he offered a better stone for our use that had to be special ordered. I think most people would have just agreed w/client and took our order with what he had and moved on. This is a very big project for us and means alot to have someone as professional as them assisting us Our pool builder Bill-CA Pools was right on the money about these guys. Also, he delivered the quartzite from No Cal exactly on time as promised, I was very concerned that they would be late given how these things usually go. read more

We purchased over 6K on soil retention system blocks...Alberto AKA Albert was extremely helpful! We ordered too much and he quickly took the left over product. He return calls promptly and kept us updated on order status. The only reason why I gave this place 4stars instead of 5 is because the other guys in the office are useless...With the being said I would recommend this place because of Albert and because they have SFV prices in SCV. read more

My husband and I just purchased a house about five months ago and we finally got around to addressing the landscaping. American Builders Supply is four miles from our house and had everything I needed for the job. Tom and Angel delivered rocks and bark for the finishing work and couldn't have been nicer about it. They were polite to my neighbors and efficient in their work. I have had gravel delivered from these guys and it was exactly the amount I required after I gave them the square footage. Great service! I ordered some malibu stone and scheduled the delivery for the following week. The day before the delivery the client decided they wanted more of this stone. The Santa Clarita store didn't have anymore in stock. The Canoga Park store had some. They coordinated the pick up of the stone from the Canoga park store and got me my delivery of all the stone i needed the next day. I'm so grateful! These guys rock!! read more

Like others have said their customer service sucks so if you go in knowing this and don't have any lofty expectations then you won't be disappointed.
