If I could give more stars I would. I have been coming here for a couple years now and I continue to be impressed. As I get older it seems there is always some niggling ache or pain. Jennifer listens, asks questions, and then gets to work. She really takes time to listen. The application of the needles is barely perceptible, but the effectiveness of the treatment cannot be denied. The entire experience is calming and peaceful. I'd never gotten acupuncture before going here. I had what I felt were unspecific aches and ailments and had no expectations on how effective acupuncture would be in making me feel better. In the months since I started going (lots of times, only once a month), everything from digestive issues to nerve-related pain have improved overall, and often times I've felt immediate relief after a session. Regardless of how much relief I get, though, I always leave feeling calmer and more relaxed. The rooms are not very bright and there's usually low music playing. It's warm and cozy in the winter and a cool oasis in the summer. The office staff and healers are incredibly caring and compassionate. They take the time to get to know you and your issues so you really feel like a friend rather than a customer. Especially since they have adjustable prices for those times you're running short (at $35 for full price, it's pretty reasonable). The only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is because I haven't gotten acupuncture anywhere else and so don't have anything for comparison. I would absolutely recommend American Chi Center for Health for anyone looking to get relief from aches and pains, or anxiety issues. My personal list of complaints: lower back pain, sciatica, upset stomach, anxiety, weird undiagnosed shoulder joint pain, arthritis. read more

I love this place! It is in a convenient location, it is very clean and the staff are extremely friendly. I mentioned to the acupuncturist that I was having trouble sleeping and he recommended I take magnesium supplements. I really liked that he heard my problem and directed me in the right direction with a healthy alternative. I haven't gone back because I'm a little weary with needles, but I would recommend it to anyone. The acupuncturist was very nice. He even made sure to bring me a blanket while I was laying there to make my experience more comfortable. You guys rock!! read more

Jennifer Conlin, LAC is by far the BEST Acupuncturist in town! Absouletely LOVE the care, proactive approach and professionalism of Jennifer and her team at American Chi. They have a new address, which is near the hospital now, and are currently at 1209 Esplanade Suite #1 in Chico. I cannot say enough about my overall improvement in ailments that have been treated by suregeons, prescriptions and doctors over the years...Jen and her skills as an Acupuncturist left them in the dust. I agree with the other reviews here. Jennifer is the best acupuncturist that I have found in this area. She is very knowledgeable as well as very intuitive. She has helped me a great deal with acupuncture and herbal remedies. Also, Maria is a massage therapist who works out of the office. She is also one of the best I've ever experienced, using several techniques to get at the problem. American Chi Center for Health as an entity/business is an amazing local source of health and wellness. The staff is professional, compassionate, considerate, and well versed in their fields. Hours are flexible, they have a sliding scale for community acupuncture, and offer private sessions for both massage and acupuncture treatments. It becomes eminently obvious as soon as you walk in the door that YOUR best interest and YOUR health and wellness are of the utmost concern to the entire staff. The offices are much like a cross between the cleanliness of a doctor's office, and the comfortability of a day spa. I have been undergoing acupuncture for six years now (on and off) for a variety of issues. I have been treated by numerous people, and without a doubt I can say that Jennifer Conlin at American Chi is truly amazing! Some issues require weekly treatment, some only occasional. Sometimes you feel the relief immediately, other times it may take a few sessions, but regardless you walk away relaxed and invigorated. I used to have chronic sinus infections and migraines (both now a rarity), I go for seasonal allergy relief, to control and maintain seborrheic dermatitis (a genetic skin condition much like eczema), I go when I have insomnia, muscle and joint trauma from accidents (as a matter of fact I was in a terrible car accident that resulted in my doctor sending me to four different kinds of physical therapy, and I can honestly say acupuncture was the most beneficial of them all!), I've even gone when I needed a little help concentrating and focusing for finals week! My boyfriend goes for back pain, asthma, and restless leg syndrome and I can testify that the days he has received treatment are the days he sleeps the soundest! I have utilized American Chi for their private sessions, community acupuncture, massage therapy, herbal medicines, and other varied Eastern Medicine techniques; I support and encourage anyone interested in improving their health to schedule an appointment with American Chi or walk-in to their community acupuncture! Amazing place to go!!! I have had 25 treatments at a different facility in Chico (never had acupuncture experience prior to that) and I thought that not personal approach, pain and discomfort and more pain after the treatments is what acupuncture is. It did relieve immediate pain that I came with but it wasn't an experience that would bring me back (after my workmans comp ended). It only took 2 sessions with Jennifer and I was convinced that I am in good hands. Her approach to my very complex problem is very personal. Jennifer takes the time prior each treatment to see how my body responded after previous treatment and what is the new development with my hand. I feel relieve and improvement with every treatment I have. She doesn't have it easy with me because I keep reinjuring it by using my hand every day - mostly work (she started to treat a 2 year old work related hand injury - RSI), but despites that I already feel much much better. My private insurance is running out but I will continue my treatments even after the coverage is all used up. I LOVE feeling less pain. I didn't think it can be possible after 2 years of struggling. This is, simply put, a wonderful gem. I have been to other acupuncturists in Chico, but Jennifer is absolutely the best. She is very knowledgeable and intuitive, treating the whole person and the causes of pain and not just the acute pain. She is also knowledgeable about herbal medicine, so is able to treat issues holistically. Maria is one of the massage therapists here, and she, too, is one of the very best in her field that I have encountered. She also uses several different methods to really get at the pain and its cause. Overall, your experience at American Chi Center will be a great one. All of the people here, from reception on, are kind and welcoming. You feel truly taken care of. And, they take most insurance, too, which is an added bonus! read more
