Although I paid for a 30-minute massage, it ended at 4:58 PM, which felt short considering the initial wait. I paid $52 total (including a $2 card fee), and the value did not match the experience. At checkout, before I completed payment, the therapist asked, "$10 tip okay?" which made me uncomfortable. I prefer to choose the tip amount myself based on the service provided. I tipped $7 in cash, and the reaction I received felt disappointing and unprofessional. Tipping should feel optional and appreciated, not assumed or pressured. I have been getting massage here since it opened 10 years ago. The shop is always clean and has very comfortable massage tables. In the winter they even have heating pads under the sheet if you want. I always make an appointment but they take walk-ins and will even call more therapists in if needed. The staff are always friendly and take care to deliver the massage how the customer wants. The prices are fair and have hardly gone up over the years they have been open. It doesn't really matter who is working, all the staff are skilled at what they do. I do find myself favoring Casey though, her massage is consistently excellent every time. Massage is a regular part of my self-care routine and I highly recommend this shop as the best in town. I've gone to this place since they've opened, even when they were at Gold country casino for a bit. I stopped going about a year ago, because I feel like the quality of care from some of the therapist were failing. Today, my sister and I decided to give them another shot, as I do really like the owners (they seems like nice people). First off, I had a couple stamp cards filled for a free 30 mins. I asked if could use it and get a 90 mins. They ladies said, "No we no do free". I said "ok, I guess I'll use it next time" Then they proceed to ask us over and over and over, if we wanted relaxtion or theraputic. We kept saying relaxation, and they hounded us so hard, I finally gave in and said, "fine!" While in our massage, they put us in the same room as a couples massage. My therapist left 6 times during the hour long massage to go answer the phone and talk and once to tend to a customer that walked in. My sister's therapist left twice for the same! After the last time, I was ready to walk out of the place I was so irriated! Upon check out, my sister paid for hers and the therapist said,"you leave tip? You leave tip?" the nice person she is she left her a tip. The therapist ran my card and asked for a tip for my therapist and I said,"nope, what's the owners name and contact info", She just looked and me and said,"you leave tip!" I signed the credit card slip and as I gathered my card, she started yelling at us and yelling for the other therapist to come out (who was already in another session). She was yelling so loud at us, we heard her in the parking lot... Good thing I have no idea what she was saying, because I would have been more pissed than I already was! I don't ever appreciate being treated this way, I probably shouldn't have even paid for the full hour... But they would not give me the owners contact information. My sister said last time my mother and her went they did the same thing to them, in regards to tipping. But they told them they tip $10 each. Your tip is earned, not entitled! read more

I called for an appointment for 2. We arrived and they only had one person. So I had to wait for the other person to finish the message she was doing while my husband got started first. 30 minutes later she comes in and only gave me 50 minutes and all the while the two of them were talking back and forth while we were trying to enjoy our messages. She also kept going to the front desk. Then she wanted a bigger tip for my husbands lady because he got deep tissue. They already screwed me out of 10 minutes and the talked the whole time. Also the manager, a man, was constantly talking at the front desk and walking very fast up and down the hall with his hard shoes just stomping the floor as he walked. An excellent experience! This was a last minute decision, so I didn't make an appointment prior, but was nonetheless immediately taken to my room. The rooms are spacious, private, and nicely lit. I had a 1-hour session with the owner Yin. I thought she was very professional and competent. I should mention that I speak fluent Chinese Mandarin so communication was no issue at all for me. This place is great! My husband and I have been getting massages here for two years now. It is really a treat for us. The massage is fantastic and I have never been in the "up sale" situation. In fact, when I asked for the deep tissue massage, the masseuse took my arm and demonstrated the pressure involved in both massage techniques. Just left parlor on East Ave. I enjoyed a 30 min deep tissue massage given to me as a ($35.00) gift cert. Upon my leaving, I had 3 women w/ very limited English skills literally demand that I leave a tip, one tapping the sign that was on the counter (that stated tips in cash only). When I said that I didn't have any cash, she said that I could use my credit card. I pointed back to her sign that said "cash only" and told her no!! At this point, the lady who massaged me came back out w/ my gift cert showing me that only the massage had been paid for, not the tip! I pointed to her saying that no where does it say "tip not included" or "tips mandatory". This went on for several minutes before the third lady told me "next time, next time" while the other 2 continued to pressure me for a tip!!
