CCI is NOT for the mentally weak either. we had a nursing instructor named Jordoun. AMAZING RN. he makes learning fun! and makes you want to come back to class. I felt ready for clinical sites thanks to him and a lot of self learning and reading on my own.

You will feel like you aren't learning anything they had us wait for a clinical site for three months for a placement, during the waiting period we just sat in a room for 12 hrs without even practicing on the dummies they had us practice injections on HOT DOG LINKS. They don't answer the phone in a timely manner could take about a week or two weeks to hear back from someone. The lack of communication and organization is horrible. I finished the LVN and passed because of my dedication to study the material and utilizing ati and watching YouTube videos not because of the instructors or lecture. I finished the program in AUGUST of 2024 they didn't give us a ceremony until APRIL of 2025 wasn't even considered class of 2024 but 2025 makes no sense. The Ceremony was unorganized they had us do a practice run through for the ceremony, while family and friends were already seated which was embarrassing people were clapping thinking the ceremony had began just to have us walk out and come back in. There was also misspelling of names on the school ceremony pamphlet couldn't even get that right. Majority of the time we could barely understand the instructors because of their accents they always had last minute changes during the program. So if you're considering this school just make sure you've done all your research.

Dr. Ina played a huge role in my success throughout Terms 3 and 4. She challenged us to do our best, encouraged us to stay disciplined, and provided countless resources to help us succeed. Her passion for teaching is truly inspiring--you can tell she genuinely loves what she does, and that enthusiasm motivates her students every day. A special thank you as well to Miss Karla for being such a supportive, approachable, and genuinely fun instructor. She created a positive learning environment that made even the most challenging days more manageable. One area where I believe ACC could improve is the clinical rotation assignment process. Students are not given the opportunity to choose their clinical sites, and commute times are often not taken into consideration. For example, some students who live in Pasadena were assigned to Santa Monica, while students who live near Santa Monica are assigned to Pasadena. Even got threatened to be sent to San Gabriel the next time I complained. While I understand that clinical placements depend on site availability and program requirements, a more thoughtful approach that considers students' commuting distances and personal circumstances would help reduce stress and improve the overall learning experience. Overall, I am grateful for the education, support, and experiences I gained throughout the program. Thank you to all the instructors who invested their time, knowledge, and energy into helping us become future nurses.

I am disgusted by their lies and awful things I have heard over the course of my studies. From dismissing hearing and mental conditions as an excuse to the administration staff telling teachers that they have to reach a certain pass rate by either failing students that deserve to go on or passing students that should have failed. I have witnessed clinical instructors teaching students while poking the patient with the same needle more than once which is a huge health violation. They prefer students not with healthcare backgrounds so they don't get called out for their lack of proper education. They promise resources and help to students that need assistance but to the students that reach out, are scolded instead for even working once or twice a week and dismiss their requests for assistance. Their remediation for failing a test is talking to students that are a class ahead of you to tutor you for an hour without bringing up the test or similar questions so all that's left for them to say is to read the book with outdated information that contradicts what we learn online or in person. They leave it up to the students to decide which source to trust which leads to constant mistakes that are never learned. I admit my flaws as a student. I have lived with hearing aids and when they were broken I got no assistance from the school. I will admit I scored 73% and 74% in med surg and pharm (passing grade is 75%). I take accountability for my own actions but my mistake was assuming the school would be responsible enough to do the same. After all their smiles and fronts they put up. Once you are admitted and you're financially tied to them, they don't care about you anymore so unless you have 100k to spare for nursing and no responsibilities as an adult to teach yourself. Avoid this school at all costs.

The staff was organized, check-in was easy, and the hybrid format made the whole process painless (unlike some IV attempts I've witnessed in real life). What really impressed me was how efficient everything was. Once I passed my exam, they handed me my certificate the same day--no waiting, no chasing emails, no mysterious "processing time." Just boom. Certified. I wish everything in healthcare worked that fast. Now for the real highlight: Instructor Steele Erickson. Steele is the kind of nursing instructor you secretly hope for but never expect to get. He breaks down IV therapy and blood withdrawal with such clarity and patience that even tricky techniques suddenly feel manageable. He teaches with a calm, supportive energy that makes everyone relax. He's incredibly knowledgeable, genuinely invested in every student, and somehow keeps the class both educational and entertaining. As someone with 25+ years in healthcare, I can confidently say instructors like Steele do not grow on trees. If you're considering getting your IV Certification, go to Los Angeles Career College and hope you get Steele Erickson as your instructor. You'll walk away confident, competent, and wondering why every nursing class can't be this smooth. Highly recommended!

For the longest time, nursing school lived in the same category as "I'll get to it eventually."…read moreEventually turned into 6-7 years of postponing, doubting myself, and wondering if I was really cut out for it. Ironically, what finally pushed me to take the leap was watching a coworker graduate from West Coast University. Did she vent about the program being stressful? Absolutely. Did she ever have a bad thing to say about the professors or staff? Not once. That spoke volumes. Nursing school isn't supposed to be easy. Caring for people during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives isn't easy, so why should the preparation be? Hearing about the challenges didn't discourage me, it reassured me that the program was doing exactly what it was meant to do. So, after attending an information session for the second time in two years, I finally decided to stop flirting with the idea of nursing school and commit. What stood out to me immediately was the transparency! From day one, everything was laid out clearly: what was required for admission, what resources were available, and what steps needed to be taken to succeed. There were no surprises, no sugarcoating, just straightforward guidance and support. Then began the adventure of getting all my "stuff" together. I would be remiss if I didn't give a special shout-out to David Gallardo, who is low-key one of the biggest reasons my application was completed at all. During the application process, I was navigating some personal challenges while helping care for my mother. Throughout it all, David remained patient, encouraging, and consistently supportive. More importantly, he always started our conversations by asking how I was doing, not just where I was in the application process. That may seem like a small thing, but it meant a lot. His kindness and reassurance gave me confidence when mine was running low. If first impressions truly matter, David was the perfect first impression of West Coast University. Now, as I prepare to begin this journey, I won't pretend I'm not nervous. I have moments where I wonder whether I have what it takes. But I also know that West Coast University has already shown me that support, resources, and dedicated advisors are available every step of the way. At that point, the responsibility shifts to me to use those resources and keep moving forward. So here I am, equal parts anxious and determined, looking forward to the long study sessions, sleepless nights, and study-group marathons. Two years from now, I plan to walk across that stage knowing that earning my degree wasn't easy, but it was worth it. And when that day comes, I'll happily become an unofficial ambassador for West Coast University, completely pro bono lol. If I can help encourage even one person who has been sitting on the fence the way I did for 6-7 years, wondering whether they're capable or whether the timing is ever going to be right, then I'll gladly share my experience. Sometimes all it takes is seeing someone else take the leap to realize you can do it too. For now, though, it's time to get to work. See y'all in two years! GM.

The positive experience I had working with her left a lasting impression and I am incredibly grateful for everything she did to help me begin this journey.

Our two sons used Blue Train for multiple things over their junior and senior years - test assessment/diagnostic, ACT prep and guidance, college list building, guidance re HS classes and even extra curricular advise, as well as navigating the college application process and the all-important essay drafting. Scott and the people at Blue Train put the boys on a very manageable schedule and in fact, both of our sons were totally done with most applications by Thanksgiving. Both boys got into tons of schools, got thrown tons of money, and this entire process was so smooth because of Blue Train's guidance.
