I trusted them and made the payment, but after that... **radio silence**. I didn't hear from them for a full **three weeks** after handing over the deposit. When I called to check on the status of the job, they didn't even know I had paid the deposit. Daniel had previously told me that they could get the job done within a couple of weeks, but now, **three weeks** had passed with no progress. Finally, after calling again, I was told the earliest they could do the job was almost **five weeks out**--and they already had my deposit. The owner, **Daniel**, came out to give the estimate and made all sorts of promises about how great the job would be. He even assured me he could **hide our electrical wiring**, which **never happened**. Before sending the deposit, I spoke to **Julie** at the office and emailed her a picture of what I wanted done. She confirmed it would be no problem and assured me she'd send the details over to Daniel. Everything seemed set, so I sent the **$2,500 deposit** via **Cash App**--huge mistake. When the crew finally showed up to do the work, **nobody knew anything about the design** I requested. I was told they could do it, but it would cost an **extra $700** because they needed to drive **10 miles** back to their shop to get a different stamp. A **10-mile trip** that would have taken **maybe 30 minutes** round-trip. They refused to work with us or compromise at all, making it clear that if I wanted the job done, I'd have to pay more. There was also NO consideration for the 60 square feet less that was not done. The patio was quoted at 15x16 and what was done was 15x12. The staff and owner was unwilling to do anything to help resolve the issue. As a homeowner, you're left feeling completely **screwed**. They had already taken my **$2,500** through Cash App, and I knew I wasn't getting it back. It's impossible to dispute or get a refund once money is sent that way, and they know it. I have just completed my second project with American Custom Hardscapes. First was a pool deck and this one was a foundation and slab for an addition. From my very first contact, Daniel, Cheryl and Julie have been extremely responsive and professional. They did exactly what they promised and provided a high level of customer service. The onsite teams were nothing short of a machine! They arrived a few minutes before the scheduled time, jumped right on to the task, and delivered great products. After moving into our new home the only thing lacking was a back patio that was adequate to sit and bar-b-que on. The original patio had a sun room addition built over the patio which only left a patio of 3' by 11'. Out of all the estimates we received, American Custom Hardscapes was the most reasonable. And what really stood out was the estimators ideas on how the patio could be constructed to blend in with the existing patio. Once the construction commenced everything fell into place perfectly. As the lead workers stated for all of them, "I want you to be very proud of this patio and I'm making it as though it was my own." Infuriating experience. I'm a retired Army Construction Engineer Officer so I have some experience in this industry. Upon seeing the beautiful photos of their work I called for a quote. When Daniel the owner stopped by he seemed knowledgeable and likable and so I hired him to reseal my 2 yo stamped/colorized patio. He noticed my front walkway was stamped but much older and offered to colorize it to match then seal it as well. His cost was 25% of the other quote I received @ $740 and he asked for 1/2 down as a deposit. After a few days I didn't hear from anyone about scheduling so called them. A female answered and complained she was the only one there doing everything but did schedule me for the following Monday/Tuesday (powerspray, then next day strip and reseal). Both days passed and nothing. Not a call and no show. The office staff were confused and said neither Daniel nor the reseal team were responding to them so they had no information. Thursday evening I caught Daniel at home on his cell. He had no idea his team never came. He promised to call me at 8:00 AM the next morning. Then nothing. I went back and forth with the young ladies in the office who still had no information so I cancelled their service. The next day one of them emailed that Daniel said my deposit was non-refundable and the scheduled dates were tentative! Of course there is no language about any of this on his simple one page "contract". I held my tongue until my bank confirmed I could stop payment on the check with no fee which I immediately did. I wrote back to the office staff that they were fired and never to contact me again. But they did! I actually felt bad for them as their boss obviously has no sense of responsibility to his customers or to them which I found odd as they all seemed quite capable. Weeks later I received my check back in the mail with a letter of apology. This is so typical for this area which is why I went clear to Stafford but to no avail. Also odd is he has at least three similar businesses with different names that I felt he used to hide his poor service. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend them and must start from scratch again. read more

Since the company wants to delete my comment on google reviews, I'll post my review on here... We set up an appointment to get an estimate on a large project that included: Stamped concrete, retention wall, and other amenities (Outdoor grill, fire pits, etc). We spent over an hour talking about what we wanted, and even provided a picture of what our vision entailed. Communication was great up until they were to provide us with a quote. Our appointment was June 23rd. We were promised a quote within the next couple days, as he "had to speak with his architect." Come the week of July 4th, my husband ended up contacting the company, as we had not heard from them. They had promised to provide us a quote within the week, as they "have been busy." My husband ended up calling them yet again, to just hear the same excuse as before.This goes back and forth 2 more times. 5 weeks later, we have finally given up on the company. Its unfortunate that they didn't even have the audacity to call us back, as we would have been a long time customer, with big projects to complete. Not only was this a waste of our time, but it also prolonged the time that it's going to take to bring in another company who actually cares and wants our business. I attempted to contact the company several times after their estimator failed to show for the appointment, to no avail. Quite unprofessional and inconsiderate as I had to take a day off of work to meet with the estimator. Daniel/American Custom Hardscape has been great. I had my patio completed as two seperate projects but I was impressed both times. It was completed to my satisfaction, and at the cost was really competitive. As my project was beginning and I saw the area I'd designed, it seemed smaller than I desired. Although I was the one to complete the design yet wanted the patio larger, Daniel obliged and charged a minimal cost. I also added a sitting wall at the end and he had no problem with that. They were challenged to match an existing stamped concrete area, which was done by another contractor. The match is extremely good, and the concrete job was very well done. Small details, like going back over the stamped areas to touch up any imperfections, made this second job much nicer than my previous contractor's work.
