The hubs keeps mentioning how American Deli is known for their wings. And I'm pretty sure I've been ages ago, but we finally made it to one. And interesting fact I didn't know is that American Deli was established in Atlanta but now has 200 locations across many southern states. I really enjoyed the Philly (beef). It was a sizable sandwich with good flavors. As of late, I've been on a cheesesteak craze. And so I've had a crazy version which was delicious but overly salty. And I've had one where it was more plain Jane and small. This one sits squarely in the middle: good meat ratio and flavor without being too extreme. The hubs thought the wings were okay. The flavor was very distinct and adds a kick to your taste buds. We were able to do half and half, and so we chose garlic parmesan and lemon pepper (dry). I really dug the garlic parmesan. The lemon pepper had a real kick in flavor. I remember squinting from the burst in flavor to my taste buds. I've lived in ATL for decades and I've never been to American Deli. I just casually avoided it for so long but I read that the wings were popular so we finally made the pilgrimage to one. The wife ordered the Philly cheese steak because it's her go-to. She's been on a cheese steak fixation lately. I've had one so salty it could've been used to de-ice roads. But this one? Decent! Perfectly in the middle--good meat-to-bread ratio, flavorful, and didn't try to stab me in the kidneys with sodium. I was underwhelmed with the wings. We got half garlic parmesan, half lemon pepper (dry). The garlic parm was my jam. Creamy, savory, little garlic party in my mouth. The lemon pepper, though? Dry was not the right choice. We were surprised how spot on the food was for what it is-- it was exactly what we wanted in our basic America late night dinner. The chicken fingers were perfectly cooked, crispy, and all white meat. Their honey mustard side is perfection -- not too much honey or too much mustard. Their crinkle French fries were freshly cooked and delicious, some crispy and some soft, which is perfect for two people who like the opposite. The Rueben was thinly double layered (sauce, meat, sauerkraut, cheese, meat, cheese, sauerkraut) for the perfect bite. They hardly ever answer the phone, so you pretty much have to drive there to place your order. God forbid you have a large order, because you'll be there for a long time. This location is the closest to my home. I have lived in the area for a few months now and finally went last night. Walked in and the place is small but it was packed with teenagers. Seemed like a good sign. The young lady who answered the phone was very helpful and pleasant and she was the same way when I came in the store. They have a score of 93 and the place seemed pretty clean. Not spotless but not nasty like some of the other American Deli locations. I ordered a 6 piece and fries but I believe the combo comes in 5 piece (wish she had told me over the phone ) but that was fine. Unfortunately, the wings were the absolute WORSE that I have had in a very long time. I had the honey garlic parmesan flavor and there was no honey, no garlic and no parmesan. The wings were fried horribly in what seemed to be "old" grease. Also, you can clearly tell that they actually CUT the whole chicken and they are not frying "wings" because the "flats" looked so AWFUL and disproportionate that the mere site of the wings was disgusting. I ate 1 wing and the rest went in the trash. The fries were standard crinkle cut thin fries but they were nothing to write home over either. There is another location less than 10 minutes away that I frequent while I am at work. I am sorry to say that I will never return to the Lawrenceville location again. read more

The food taste good and the counter guy gave me several options to choose when ordering. I ordered the steak-n-cheese sandwich and hot-wings. I was not disappointed. The place was clean, did not smell or look dirty. The staff was friendly and helpful when asked. I did not realize it until after making my order, but this place has some Middle Eastern sandwiches on the menu made with lamb. I called order at 124pm 135 pm arrive, but they do not cook your order until you pay for it. 155 pm I asked the girl are you cooking the food or what. Came here by chance. Nothing else was opened. But this place had a lot of poeple in it. I've came here a couple more times and each time they are always busy. They make alot of different foods here. Sandwiches, burgers, wings, fried rice. It looks like it might be korean owned or operated. Im not a fan of the wings. They are too tiny. But everything else is a pretty good. They have great meal deals. I opted to get the cheese steaks. I will be trying the burgers and fish fry soon. Definitely give this place a shot. Same Price as Mcdonalds, much better quality. Honestly the worst. How do they even stay in business at this place?! The fries were stale. The fried rice was extremely salty and covered in a lot of soy sauce that the rice was super brown. Oh and the wings were definitely very old and were re fried over and over again and was very hard plus they were all so tiny. The quality of this place is really bad and their workers seemed not happy at all to be there either. I rarely ever had to throw any food away and I really tried to swallow and eat all my food but I ate less than half of my fries rice, I just couldn't do it. Way too salty and the wings were just as bad. Fries are hard for me to ever stop eating but I couldn't finish them either. I'm sure they won't care about my business coming back to them but yeah I definitely won't come back. First the customer service here with the two young girls that work there is not up to par. One of the young ladies does not have proper phone etiquette. I called one day over 30 times from 12:15 to 1:00 no one answered the phone and when someone finally did answer they immediately placed me on hold for another 15 minutes. Today, I called my order in at 12:17, I got to the restaurant around 12:33 and paid for it, I literally was waiting another 20 minutes still my food was not done and my number was not called.
