The employees are trained to get right up in your face, follow you closely and suggest new items. Not a second to look around without them right in your face. I felt like I had to appease them by saying everything they showed me was cute, even if I hated it. But even after the employee stopped forcing me to follow her around and showing me items I wasn't interested in/making me try them on in front of the mirror, and trying to pressure me to buy every bag I even glanced at for more than a second, they both continued to follow me around closely in silence and hovered over me. I love the bag I bought so much, which is lucky, because I quickly decided on it just to leave that uncomfortable environment. This was also my first time going in alone and I know that when I was with my ex and he said we didn't need help, they left us alone. It's incredibly frustrating to not get that same respect as a single woman saying I don't need help and I'd just like to look around.

I had 20 clothing items in hand and my little one and never once was offered a changing room. I know from being a VIP Maurice's member that once you have a few items they usually offer a room. Once I found my own changing room, and tried all the clothes on they were absolutely no where to be found when I was ready to make my purchase. I was excited to help a nice woman decide on cute shoes and an outfit from what she had in her changing room, but honestly that's exactly what the employees are here to do. They know their stock and trends so they should be able to show a customer how versatile it is and convince them of what a deal it is.
